Scott's Seafood Grill & Bar - Folsom Ratings and Reviews
I was really disappointed with our meal. There were no problems with our reservation, the way we were greeted, and the service. The big problem here was the food. I ordered the crab bisque to start it was very thick and had very little crab. Taste was okay. The rice with my seafood was undercooked and crunchy. The vegetables were steamed broccoli and cauliflower. The vegetables were piled on the plate for poor presentation. It didn’t taste like there was any olive oil or even salt and pepper on them. The crab was not even cracked. It was like eating crab at a crab feed. At most nice restaurants they take the time and care to at least crack the crab for you. We got the Asian style crab and it was overly sweet.
The staff were great. The Martinis and Bread were GREAT. I Had a crab Louie. It was fresh and crab was ok. However, there was hardly any crab. Half order for $18. Way to much $$$ for that amount. My dad had the Sole. He said it was ok. Kind of mushy. We might go back again. And try something different but your prices are a little pricey. Also glad you are moving. The view is terrible looking at the construction site across
The food was excellent and our server did a wonderful job (Glen). They were either very understaffed in the kitchen or had other problems - our meal took a VERY long tome to be served. We had budgeted two hours to enjoy a meal, and ended up not getting our entrees until we had been there well over an hour.
Clam chowder is perfection; I always order it. One couple split the fish tacos, I had the seafood salad, and another had a sandwich and small salad. Wine list by the glass is satisfying and reasonable.
Service was excellent. Our wait person checked on us frequently, and knew the menu well. She was friendly and efficient.
made reservations for special occasion dinner. Order calamari salad- salad was plentiful, well dressed. Calamari was okay- not particularly crispy or warm. Also ordered the halibut which is my favorite fish. Very small portion, cooked appropriately but not seasoned well. after the first two dishes, we declined dessert. Wait staff was friendly, but not very attentive.
We were seated right away and enjoyed a couple of delicious craft cocktails from the bar; a Manhattan and the 007 Martini. We had oysters on the half shell as a starter. Nice fresh oysters with a little horseradish and Tabasco was an excellent accompaniment to our cocktails. For dinner my wife had the crusted Halibut which was excellent and I had the swordfish steak which was cooked to perfection with a delicious risotto. Service was excellent; very attentive but not bothersome. Afterward we went to see a show at the Harris Center just a short drive away. All in all an excellent evening.
We Seniors enjoyed an early dinner during the "Early Bird Special". Appetizer, entrée, and dessert, plus coffee, tea, or soda for $28. My salmon was prepared perfectly, as was my friend's petrale sole. Two of our party had fish and chips, which were lightly battered.
The seaside art is always enjoyable as the backdrop to the view.
All in all, a very pleasing experience.
I was there for a birthday dinner during Early Bird time and had a very nice dining experience. The birthday girl enjoyed her ciappino and I enjoyed my King Salmon. The most impressive thing was when the server packaged our ice cream to go. We had a nice birthday experience!
Tim the manager is beyond personable! He is always so welcoming.
The wait staff is terrific. Kudos to Raul the lovely bus person from Lima Peru.
The food is so fresh, beautifully prepared and a pleasure to eat.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Sacramento area!
I always feel we have had a pleasureable dining experience. Thank You
Chose Scott's because it was my friend's favorite place for crab cakes, and we were celebrating her 90th birthday. Food and service could not have been improved upon. I had chowder and petrale sole; she had the seafood salad and appetizer crab cakes. Good wine list by the glass, and excellent coffee. Server was Jeannie: ask for her, and you won't be disappointed.
