Scott's Bar & Grill Ratings and Reviews
We are three women who have been friends for 30 years and Scott's has always been our place to get together for years. The atmosphere is nice, food is excellent but most of all, we always appreciate the warm and friendly staff at Scott's. This last time, 11/10/17, our waiter was especially fun and gracious. He was a real gem. We were amazed that we occupied our table for 5 hours (we are chatty, I guess) and no one seem to object to our lengthy stay. Scott's will remain our favorite restaurant forever, I'm sure.
We eat with you about every two weeks and have for over 10 years so we are frequent diners. Here are areas where you could improve: when we order bacon on a bacon cheeseburger, 30- 40% the time you leave the bacon out. When we order a hamburger rare or medium rear 50 % of the time it comes out medium or well done. When we order a gluten-free bun, 20% of the time we get a regular bun. Since we usually eat in a party of 10, someone frequently needs to wait for an order to be corrected which is unfortunate.
On the plus side, your waitstaff is very pleasant, splitting orders is graciously done, you have a great steak salad, delicious iced tea, nice cold Mac and Jack and we always feel welcomed!
Food, especially steaks, came luke warm. Service was quite slow. Had to obtain steak knives on own. Hot water was not hot or even warm for tea or hot water. Waiter pleasant, but apparently over stretched. Not a great experience, especially for what was charged for each meal.
Thank you for listening.
Had a nice birthday lunch. My sister had her favorite chicken salad and I enjoyed the blackened rock cod jambalaya. Our service was very good, attentive but not intrusive. I did note on our online reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. It went unnoticed. I was slightly disappointed there wasn't a slice of cake or a cookie, just a little something.
Scotts has been a "go to" favorite of our family for many years.
Been gooing to Scott's for over 25 years. Always love the food and their serves are the best. If I ever had a complaint, it would be that the noise level makes it very difficult to carry on a conversation at times. I wish when they renovated this year, they would have found a way to put some sound baffles around. I'll still keep going though.
Rarely submit negative review for Scott's.
Party of 5 for birthday celebration.
Prime Rib was cooked to order, however difficult to cut and was very chewey. 2 French Dips; (I've brought this to Scott's attention in the past); au jus served in same plate as San, bread soaked, unable to pick up to dip. Showed to waiter, reaction was 'sorry'.
Personal preference, don't care for salad to be served in soup bowl, not a huge deal but seems tacky. Coconut Prawns were fried very dark brown, which results in a bitter taste. Seems quality control has become lax again. Disappointing. I don't recommend Scott's at this time. Was waiting for Scotts to send me request for survey, but didn't receive, so reviewed on Open Tanle instead.
We went for a late lunch. The food was excellent as usual. Unfortunately the service wasn't all that great. We sat for 10 minutes before a waitress from another station came to our rescue. Our waitperson was no ware to be seen and the waitress jumped right in. I found the non-service strange as it was 2PM and not many customers (except for a table of ladies that had just finished and maybe our waiter was too busy with them to even acknowledge us).
The seats were really hard at the table and the food was good but very salty. It was not at all private. Maybe we should have asked for a booth which was a little more private and looked more comfortable on the buns than at the table. We made reservations ahead so would have thought they would give us the best seat available but we were on a 4 top table right in the middle of a walkway to go outside. Wouldn't have minded being outside but looked like there was a party going on or something. Cost more than $100 just for dinner. we had gift certificates or would not have gone and probably wouldn't go again.
The First Seating option is a GREAT Value! I had prime rib and the most amazing potatoes (what do they put in those....I rarely eat the potatoes but these are addictive! I love the buttered garlic bread sticks too. Generous portions. My husband had the almond crusted scallops... I stole one....couldn't help it! It was worth the glare I got from him!
I've had great experiences at this restaurant, especially for lunches, but they were having an off night when we met another couple for dinner recently. Very limited wine choices, especially for sparkling wine; the one that WAS on the menu and looked promising was "out of stock" and unavailable. The restaurant was moderately busy, but it took a LOOOONG time to get our food, and the entree salads I recalled as so enticing were less so (fewer goodies along with the greens). We might be back, because of the convenient location and other issues, but more likely for lunch and not dinner. We recommended this restaurant to the other couple that we met up with for this occasion, and were a little embarrassed that the evening was not as nice as I had hoped it would be.
I have reviewed Scott's at least two times previously and don't have much more to say. I had the meatloaf again on this visit and it was outrageously good just like the other times I ordered it. The veggies were perfectly tender crisp and the garlic mashers slid down the gullet quite smoothly.
Never a bad meal at scott's.
