About Scottish Arms

Located in the heart of St Louis' Central West End, The Scottish Arms is a rustic traditional Victorian style pub and a comfortable setting for lunch, dinner and late night entertainment.

The product driven menu changes seasonally focusing on the purity and quality of local ingredients and sustainable farming wherever possible which gives us the ability to create many styles of rustic European cuisine.

Our hearts will always be in Scotland so we will have our famous Scotch Eggs, Haddock n' Chips and Bangers, to name a few, all year round.

Our wine list was carefully crafted focusing on Old World Vintages, over 100 single malts, award winning cocktails and plenty of excellent local and European pints.

Proud to support Hinkebein Hills Farm. Farrar Out Farms. Jones Heritage and Greg Pusczek to name a few.

And, don't miss Sunday Brunch with our famous Bloody Mary Bar, Endless Mimosas, Fresh Squeezed OJ.

Always one of my favorite brunch places in all of Saint Louis! The breakfast pasty was amazing, and the Bloody Mary bar never disappoints.

The food is variable at Scottish Arms - sometimes good, sometimes not. Our last visit was in the latter category. My husband ordered a medium prime rib burger which arrived very well done. I had a lamb shank that somehow was almost tasteless. We asked for salad dressing on the side and instead they put a very small amount on the salad. When we asked for more dressing we were charged extra for it! Won't do that again.

Food and service was good as usual. The lighting in the dinning room, however, is so dim that it is difficult to read the menu or the check

what an amazing and unique restaurant. the waiters were good-natured and well-versed in the offerings. the presentation of both food and drink was beautiful and artistic, and the quality and taste of the food was extraordinary. i had the fish and chips for my entree, and it was out of this world. i did not eat the scottish eggs, but those at the table of scottish descrnt did, and they said it was spa

The service was slow, but the waitress was really nice. I thought it was odd to pay $15.00 fee to bring our own birthday cake in- especially because they didn't cut and serve it. The food was delicious!

The place has a Scottish pub vibe, with great food to match. Also, if you are a scotch drinker you will love this place. A very large and significant collection of single malts (and some blends), served in the right way.

Eight of us arrived at 11 AM. Most of us ordered brunch and the food was delicious. Service was very good. There was a bit of a problem with 2 orders that were supposed to have bacon on them and didn't, and our server quickly brought out large orders of bacon for each of them.

We will definitely go back.

Scottish Arms is in a great location - -just a few minutes by car from downtown, but worlds away. You have your choice of bar seating, dining room (with white table cloths) or outside patio seating. One of the last nice days of fall, we chose the patio seating. The service ws attentive, the food good and the shade just enough to protect form the strong sun that day. My only issue was the Muzak was a bit too loud for a business conversation. Since there were other causal diners there, I didn't mention it to our server. Perhaps I should have.

If you're a scotch drinker, this is the place for you as they had many to choose from.
We had 2 appetizers - the calamari, which was fine but not anything special, and the shrimp dish with zucchini noodles, which was great and perfectly spiced.
We also had 2 entrees - the prime rib burger, again fine but not exceptional, and the lamb burger, which was great.
Overall, I'd say it was a fine restaurant and I'd go back.

A cocktail with flavors we had never experienced, a meal that was fresh and interesting but the dessert. The DESSERT was SUBLIME. One of the best I have ever had and I've traveled extensively. The service was subpar but we hardly cared. We will be back. We were expecting local pub food; we got a dining experience.

We LOOOOOOVE The Scottish Arms. We have never been disappointed in the food... it's some of the best in the city. All conversation stops when someone takes their first bite and just groans, "oh my gosh... this is SO GOOD." It is our go-to spot for date nights or a nice dinner out. A little on the pricey side if you get drinks and/or dessert too, but pretty on par with other restaurants. Worth every penny to us!

The food was great. We had the Scottish eggs and the pork flatbread and they were cooked to perfection. The Scotch was even better, I recommend the Balvenie 15 year Sherry cask. However, our waitress was slow, even though it wasn't very busy. We asked for a second drink menu, but never got it and it took her about 15 minutes to bring us our bill. Overall, I would still recommend this place to anyone, our waitress was probably just having an off night.

Unfortunately the menu has changed in the few years since I lived in St Louis with many items increasing in price and the Halibut being $32 which for a gastropub is overpriced. Haggis wrapped in bacon no longer tastes like authentic Haggis. Bridies pastry was a little undercooked. Fish and Chips and Shepherds Pie were fantastic though. Pub now features less imports and more domestic/local craft beers than it used to have. Outstanding Scotch selection. Bathrooms a little run down and felt dirty.

I was there for Sunday brunch. I love the food and the atmosphere. It's the only place I know where I can fairly authentic Scottish fare. Been there for brunch at least 3 times before and my complaint is always the same. Very, very slow service! Once I was seated and ordered the serve yourself Bloody Mary bar, it took 20 minutes to get the drink. Mind you, they only needed to get a glass with ice and a shot of gin! Nothing fancy. My server told me that the bar was slammed. It took 10 minutes for me to get a Guinness. They either need to get more bartenders, more servers, or reduce the number of tables. Seriously, it's not that they were surprised by the crowd, they serve Brunch every Sunday!

I brought 2 business associates to the Scottish Arms yesterday for dinner. It was their first time dining there, and they had some trepidation about the menu. After sampling the Highland Gathering and Welsh rarebit appetizers, their fears turned to pure joy! They loved the food, knowledgeable wait staff, and the comfortable, friendly setting. They were impressed and vowed to return soon.

Held a business lunch and discussion at the Scottish Arms. The food was interesting and well prepared. We enjoyed several "comfort food" selections, including sharing the "Scotch Eggs" as an appetizer. While much of the food is Scottish, there were a number of salads and other less adventuresome dishes. The fish and chips were a hit. Our waiter was very attentive and provided exceptional service. I look forward to a return trip soon!

This was a pleasant introduction to delightful Scottish cuisine. We had scotch eggs and the appetizer sampler platter titled, "Highland Gathering." where the meat pies and scotch eggs were a perfect brunch staple. We also had savory and piping hot shepherd's pie with a vibrant green salad. I look forward to another visit. Our server was patient and gave a concise overview of each dish we inquired.

Mother's Day brunch menu was varied and interesting. Nice to have linen table cloth and napkins. Fruit spritzers were particularly good. Tables were far enough apart yo have private conversations. Although the good was delivered promptly and hot, it was hard to get any of the wait staff's attention to get water refills, or eventually the check. Sean MacBenedict was delish!
