Scossa Ratings and Reviews
A lovely restaurant, with an inviting bar and nice dining room. Refined, without being stuffy. Good cocktails and interesting wines by the glass. Fresh ingredients in nice presentations, especially in first courses. A little more nuance/subtlety in flavors would make this a very nice restaurant. We will go back, especially to sit at the bar and eat.
We enjoyed a terrific meal at Scossa for dinner. We received a warm welcome and started off the evening with a very well crafted cocktail at the bar. It was a full house yet we were able to maintain an easy to hear conversation. The veal chop was superb and the service was professional. Would highly recommend the restaurant to all. Cheers, M
We went to Scossa's for Christmas Eve dinner. We had a reservation for the dining room but went to the bar to get a drink while waiting for our table. We liked the table we were sitting at in the bar area and ended up having dinner there. The hostess was very accommodating. The service was great and the food was great. It was a very pleasant dining experience.
Always a winner. Was here Christmas Eve with my husband, sister and 90 year old mother. We all enjoyed the food, the ambience and the service. It was a festive way to kick off our family holiday. We requested Richard as our server and as busy as the restaurant was, Richard was attentive, cheerful and as always perfectly matched by-the-glass wine selections to our entrees. Mom and sister had roast chicken, husband had Rockfish and I had pasta.
Scossa is great for any occasion (a little on the expensive side) and is definitely our go-to special occasion place.
It was a rather frosty night and we were looking forward to some delicious food and ambiance - we weren’t disappointed! We both started our meal with soup due to the cold evening. My husbands minestrone was good but not very authentic but my fish soup with saffron was outstanding. The flavor of the stock was perfect and the pieces of solid fish and perhaps fennel were just delicious. My husband had the salmon and it was carefully cooked and had an excellent seasoning. I chose calves liver and have seldom enjoyed an entree as much as this plate of tender tastiness. Thank you Scossa. A most enjoyable meal.
We sat at the bench table for four. Very close to other tables. No privacy. Dinner came two minutes after we got our wine! Menu good be more interesting. The pasta was good but we think salads should be included with entrees. Piano music would add to ambiance.
Scossa outdid themselves on Saturday night. Risotto with lobster was creamy and delicious with a nice spicy bite. My husband's rigatoni was outstanding. And my dad's salmon was perfectly cooked. The Tormaresca chardonnay was delightful. And, as usual, we had blackberry gelato and the lemon sorbet (cleverly served in a frozen half lemon) for dessert, along with double espressos. Altogether, a superlative meal, with top-notch service throughout. (Richard is our favorite waiter and always entertaining!)
Easton seems to be blessed with a number of very good restaurants in its downtown area. Scossas has a very pleasant atmosphere with both booths and table and patio seating in season. Traditional Italian menu, and excellently prepared, but expect to pay accordingly.
The quiet, elegant atmosphere is noteworthy, as is the cuisine. We asked for Richard, our favorite waiter, who once again did not disappoint us. He was extremely courteous and attentive. When the young child of our guest began to fall asleep at the table, Richard found a vacant nearby booth and tucked her in with a table cloth! Another friend commented, "Now I understand why this restaurant tops your list!" We look forward to returning again.
The various dishes (table of 6; soups and main courses) were carefully prepared and delicious (except for one dish which was found to be too bland); lower marks for service, as Scossas was short staffed (servers and the kitchen) . Ambiente nice, but cold wind blasts whenever the restaurant door opened (need inside shield).
I took my wife to Scossa for our anniversary. We had an excellent meal and loved the whole dining experience. Our waiter (Richard) could not have been more charming and made the meal a pleasure. Great wine list. We have been once before and can't wait to go again.
atmostphere, service, food are excellent. seafood special of the day (scallops and rockfish) delicious. lamb special with risotta also very good. lamb not as tender as i would have preferred. waitress was busy but still very attentive and charming. would definitely dine there again.
