Scossa Ratings and Reviews
The quiet, elegant atmosphere is noteworthy, as is the cuisine. We asked for Richard, our favorite waiter, who once again did not disappoint us. He was extremely courteous and attentive. When the young child of our guest began to fall asleep at the table, Richard found a vacant nearby booth and tucked her in with a table cloth! Another friend commented, "Now I understand why this restaurant tops your list!" We look forward to returning again.
The various dishes (table of 6; soups and main courses) were carefully prepared and delicious (except for one dish which was found to be too bland); lower marks for service, as Scossas was short staffed (servers and the kitchen) . Ambiente nice, but cold wind blasts whenever the restaurant door opened (need inside shield).
atmostphere, service, food are excellent. seafood special of the day (scallops and rockfish) delicious. lamb special with risotta also very good. lamb not as tender as i would have preferred. waitress was busy but still very attentive and charming. would definitely dine there again.
Nice outdoor dining and good inside decor. The service was passable but there were multiple people involved in serving us and it felt a bit rushed/impersonal, though everything was served in a timely and efficient way. The lobster ravioli was a somewhat small portion without much evidence of lobster. The risotto was a bit soupier than preferred by the shrimp were delicious. Nothing terrible, just not sufficient to make me recommend that people go out of their way to go there. The pasta/risotto entrees do not come with any vegetables.
Headed to Easton for an event at the Avalon Theatre and decided to go to Scossa prior for a nice dinner. Outdoor Seating and service was nothing short of exceptional. Appetizers were great but entrees were just above average. Overall still one of the best in the area and will be returning
Have been here before and was on an overnight shopping and sightseeing trip with two friends and thought they would like Scosso. I especially like their risotto dishes. That night each had something added that just didn't appeal to two of us, so they custom made it with whatever we wanted. It was excellent and we ate every bit. Had the coconut gelato myself and another had the tiramisu for dessert, very good. My other friend had the carb cake and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were not rushed at all and it was the perfect ending to a wonderful day in St. Michaels and Easton. Will definitely be back.
Food was excellent, server (Richard) outstanding, response to request when making Open Table reservation also exceptionally good. Each dish we had was both distinctive and impeccably done. A special dietary request was responded to without hesitation. The chef is unusual in making slight menu modifications with high effectiveness , as well as promptness. This is, far and away, the best restaurant in and around Easton, Maryland.
Excellent Experiance. THe food, service and ambiance were top notch. I would recommend to anyone who wants creative cuisine at a very good price. Richard, our waiter, was very attentive and professional. Wonderful Italian food. I would especially recommend the sweetbreads as well as th pastas and the Eggplant Parm.
We selected this restaurant from the reviews on the internet. Excellent choice!!! Outstanding italian food with superb service. We were a party of 5 and everyone loved the food. The waiter was one of the best we have ever had in our life. We travelled for a wedding from very far away and were staying at a nearby hotel. If we could give this place 6 stars we would.
First time at this restaurant. We enjoyed sitting outside. The only negative to that was 3-4 boys on their bicycles/skateboards going back and forth repeatedly on the sidewalk for a while. My husband and I agreed that the food was good, but not remarkable (shrimp squash risotto/ravioli special. Three shrimp on risotto for $19. The service was good, but attentive enough that we felt somewhat rushed through dinner. The restaurant was not busy and we would have preferred to sit and relax, take time over our drinks and dinners. May or may not return.
We took our niece out for a special treat. And it was. She had the lamb special and it melted in your mouth. The sauce was amazing. My husband had the veal meatballs and spaghetti. Really good. I had the special pasta of the night, an anchovy sauce. All the pasta was homemade. Wine was also good as was the service.
Met with two work colleagues for a dinner meeting. Food and service were very good. Waiter went out of his way to accommodate the vegan colleague. I had booked a table for two but walked in with an additional colleague at about 6:25 for a 6:30 reservation. The hostess seemed a bit flustered that she couldn't accommodate a table for three yet there were plenty of open tables. We sat outside as there was no wait.
Fantastic first Easton dining experience. The menu is diverse and minimal, so they are doing more with less. This is the real deal for Italian food in its authenticity. It is worthy of a special night/ occasion. Loved that they had fresh white anchovies on the caesar salad which is hard to come by. Lovely wine list and a serene adult atmosphere. Can't wait to return.
Scossa's is our favorite restaurant in Easton. The food is amazing along with their excellent wait staff. The only reason I gave only 4 stars to the ambiance category is because we brought our dog with us (the outside area is dog friendly) and we had a table right on the sidewalk. The flies were awful and no one offered water to our pet. Most dog friendly places on the eastern shore of Maryland have dog water bowls for your pet and are very accommodating and I was a little surprised since it was over 85 degrees at dinner time. But otherwise, it was a top-notch dining experience...best Margaritas I've ever had and the arugula and prosciutto salad (ask for the "old version") was unbelievable. Our waiter was terrific and actually ran out of the restaurant looking for us when we left our credit card behind by accident. We will be back!!!!
Returning to Scossa is always a treat but this visit was a wonderful stop on a Friday Night.
Scossa's back room was packed with a wedding rehearsal group having a wonderful time. We were seated in a bankette for two..one of our favorite location in the main dinning room.
From the moment you check in with the hostess to being seated and greeted by the very efficient staff is a treat. We were being serviced by Richard who is not only very knowledgeable on the menu but how the Chef has prepared the dish that night but any alteration you might like to try Richard will make a very good recommendation...wonderful.
We started with the Chef's soup-potato & asparagus with no cream--wonderful and rich. I had a half caesar salad which is always serviced very cool with a small spanish anchovy-wonderful. During the summer months, Soft Shell Crabs will almost always be found on the Menu. I had them very lightly 'fried' vs sauteed ..either way they are wonderful and the ratatouille was a wonderful addition. We were surprised with a small tasting plate of lightly dusted zucchini's 'chips' fried.
This was a very bad weather night with storms passing thru but the restaurant became very full around the 7:00pm hour. This is a good point to say a reservation is a must if you want to eat in the main dinning room .However the Bar is a 'fun' place with the same great service but a lot more people watching...Our dinner, minus drinks & tip , was $49.00+/-.
Looking forward to a return visit very soon....and Bon appetit !!
