Hi - I was greeted hastily by a gentleman named Darrell on Sunday night for our 6pm reservation. I wanted to check in via Open Table at the hostess stand and he said Scoozi didn't have Open Table and he couldn't check us into the reservation. I had made a reservation on Open Table so that didn't make any sense. He was very rude to me and my mother and father. We didn't like his abrasive tone with us and we decided not to sit down for dinner and went somewhere else to eat dinner.
It was a great little place. Food ok service slow not so attentive. Would go for a quick. Lunch tho. Have to see how they. Handle dinner service.
The outdoor courtyard is just lovely. Every single staff person who we encountered was just terrific--friendly, nice, seemed happy to be there. That's was really notable and unusual. The food is good. It's not knock-down drag out gourmet fabulous, but it's good. And nice selection of wines. We enjoyed our dinner and the whole experience tremendously.
We enjoyed our buffet for Mother's Day. Excellent salmon and tasty mac and cheese. Our server was attentive.
Slow service...took about an hour to get food which is ridiculous for a hitel rstaurant where many people are in a rush to get plane. We to,d hostess and servers that we were time constrained and although they were nice and apologetic it didn't help us get served faster.
While staying at the Radisson Cross Keys Hotel, we were delighted to find it had such a nice restaurant. It features local as well as sustainable foods, which is a plus. The Maryland Lump Crab was tops!
We ordered room service for lunch as when we checked in lunch was over. The room service was timely as well as delicious.
The breakfast was nothing out of the ordinary. Service was slow when ordering from the menu, so I would recommend going with the buffet, which was excellent.
However, as a venue for lunch and dinner, people who live in Cross Keys, Ruxton or neighboring areas as well as the guests at the Cross Keys Radisson, are lucky to have this restaurant.
Keep up the good work!
Had the margherita pizza, shortribs, and the pontino - mixed appetizers. Everything was really good. Finished it off with seared poundcake - phenomenal.
Our server was so on with his wine select with dinner. We had a view of the garden and the table had a nice feel to it. Portions were just the right size.
Great food at reasonable prices! You can also get smaller portions that are just right for me.
I've been a customer of Scoozi since they opened. The food quality is always good and priced reasonable. I live in the Village of Cross Keys and consider it a gem. You must try the Short Ribs!
It is a hotel restaurant. Food is standard, nothing much to talk about. Service is adequate. Restaurant itself is fairly small.
Consistently fresh, creative cuisine leaning towards Italian. Service can be very slow and spotty. Outdoor seating is lovely space. Never had a bad meal here, but warning, pack some patience. Don't go if you are in a rush.
We've been to Scoozi's several times and I always feel like they are just opening and the staff is still in training. The service recently was good. The food was good. Nothing special but both service and food were good-a bit on the expensive side for just "good".
I live in Cross Keys so it's nice having a good place within walking distance. They have great panini, salads and pizza. It can be a good place to take your mother for lunch or your boyfriend for dinner. I especially like Izzy, always bartender sometimes waiter.
We often stay at the Radisson at Cross Keys when visiting family in Hamden. Happened upon Scoozi about a yrear ago and had a wonderful experience. My wife and I were staying once again, and had our children and grandchildren join us for a terrific meal. Food was well prepared and presented, staff was attentive and helpful. Great wine selections.
We dine out often, and rate Scoozi among our favorites in the Baltimore area.
Couldn't wait to leave...food was unappetizing, service fair, ambience unappealing.
My dinner with a friend was compromised by Scoozi's catering of a business conference in the hotel lobby. They were not up to the multi-tasking. Service was at times non-existent. Noise from the business conference spilled into the dinning room making conversation unpleasant. The food was good, but not good enough to make the dinning challenges worthwhile.
I loved the crab soup and the crab cakes were superb.
The food was very hot when it arrived at my table - which to me indicates it was cooked well.
The Reisling wine was exceptional.
food was overpriced and sub-par; friendly service; nice outdoor seating set-up;
need to really step it up to survive here.
It started with the server who would not listen when I said I had a reservation. We came for brunch, which Scoozi advertizes on their website, but does not offer. My daughter, who does not eat meat, ordered a vegetable and crab omelette and veggie sausage. She received an omelette with bacon in it, and pork sausages. The waitress said "oh, there were two omelettes that looked alike" ! The crab in the replacement omelette was full of shell. The waffle in another order came cold and hard-- a leftover. We ordered two orange juices and got one. One waitress was loudly complaining to another about a guest table.
When we asked to speak to the manager we were told there was no manager on duty, just an inexperienced hostess.
We have eaten at Scoozi before and clearly there are reasons we return. Good food, friendly service and reasonable prices. I have noted in previous reviews that I think they need to update the menu more regularly to offer more choices. With only a couple of pasta dishes on the menu and typicaly no pasta options on the short daily specials list the server reads off....it can get old rather quickly.
Really creative cuisine in a beautiful setting- if you want small plates or hearty entrees this is the place to go. Friendly service and casual dining made a really special evening for us. A perfect Friday night "get-away" in our own neighborhood.
Although the host and wait staff were very good and the food was acceptable, the bartender was missing in action for over twenty-five minutes. We ordered martinis with rail gin but were given premium, which was, unfortunately, watery. (The prices for these martinis were, I believe, ten dollars or more.) I hate to spend so much time on the cocktails, but for me they set the tone for the meal.
We set up a lunch date for our group (5 persons) a week earlier. When we arrived we were seated right away but we ended up waiting over 45 mins for simple menu items. Another group had arrived and we were told the kitchen could only make 1 Panini at a time !!
If you go realise you may have a bit of a wait.
I chose the spot because the atmosphere and decor was excellent! Sadly, I was unable to taste your food or experience the skills if the wait staff because my date was coming from out of town and encountered problems.
Please subs tract the 100 points from my account. Thank you.
We were enjoying our stay at the Radisson Cross Keys. Didn't have the opportunity to try the resturant last time, but booked for this stay. We couldn't have been more pleased. There are many excellent dining options in Baltimore, but we have not had a better overall dining experience than we did at Scoozi. Drinks and wine recommendations were excellent. The service was exemplary. Out waiter could not have been more knowalgable, or provided better service. Recommedations, overall knowledge of the dishes, and local knowledge made our experience exceptional. We travel to Baltimore often...we'll be back.
Great intimate spot! In the Radison Hotel. Limited number if tables so you're able to get more personal service.
However, I would like to see them expand the dinner menu.
I believe there were 4 pastas, 6 entrees and pizza.
Since it is an Italian restaurant, I expected there would be more pasta choices.
I'm allergic to seafood so there was not much choice for me.
My companion and I both had cheese ravioli and it was excellent.
There was an good band in the bar area but I think they should turn down the speakers a tad.
It made conversation difficult at times.
My husband took me to Scoozi for a Mother's Day dinner. Food is great, price is reasonable and the restaurant has a nice decor. Not too big, so it's cozy! The wait staff is professional and friendly.
Repeat vistit and allround vey satisfied on this evening as well. I would recommend that they increase their evening specials or add some additional items to the menu because the menu does get a little boring after a couple of visits.
The hostess said she'd check our reservation, but that her tablet "often didn't work". The waiter was unprofessional. The calamari was greasy, the pizza came topped with whole uncooked cloves of garlic, my husband's beer was flat (how can a bottled beer be flat?) The kicker was returning home to find an email from Open Table stating that our "reservation had been canceled by Scoozi" and giving a number to call. I got the voice mail of the food/beverage manager who has not returned my call. The restaurant is lovely and close to home so we would have likely returned had our experience not been so bad. This was a 6:30 Monday reservation. We were the only occupied table -- a sign perhaps, but no excuse for such a terrible experience.
Great food, attentive service, easy parking, overall good experience...will return often
Continue to be impressed by the food coming out of the kitchen at Scoozi. Service still has some minor issues and this time it was the fact that we felt rushed due to the speed at which our food showed up. Is this a server or a kitchen error or both but entree should not show up when you are still enjoying your salad.
We were very pleased. Food was fine..casual choices
Grandson LOVED the menu.
My husband daughter and myself enjoyed our dinner very much. We enjoyed the surroundings. Very nice evening
We needed a place to take my mother in law for dinner - it was in the neighborhood and was available. We enjoyed it, and if we have the chance to come back, we will.
Love the place, the servers and the food!
Our second visit to Scoozi since their opening and overall this experience was as good as our first. The quality and flavor of the food is the primary reason to dine here. Everything is well prepared and flavorful. Servers try their best and are very friendly but some overall training could be of great benefit. For those interested, the portions are also very generous. We will be back!
Finally the Radisson has brought in an excellent restaurant. Menu choices were excellent, creative, and all of us found the food delicious.. Portions were very large, while prices were modest.
Restaurants in hotels are notoriously "meh." Scoozi is an exception. Despite needing some service tweaks to ensure the food comes out in the right order, with apps before entrees, Scoozi is a refreshingly changed restaurant. The decor is warm and welcoming and the food is quite good.
