We were a church group of 14, and the staff was very accommodating and didn't mind separate checks. Our waitress, Michelle, was very efficient and pleasant. Very good, home-style Italian food.
Always wonderful food and superb service. Thank you !
As always, Scoglio’s didn’t disappoint. I had the veal Romano, cooked to perfection, very tasteful. My wife had a special of three kinds of parmigiana, excellent. Would recommend!
My new favorite restaurant. It was so difficult to chose from the variety of menu items that I just told the waitress to surprise me. It was fabulous. Would recommend it to anyone, anytime.
The food was delicious with several specials to choose from as well as an extensive menu. My gin and tonic was excellent and large. The staff was pleasant. We stayed awhile to chat after our meal, and it would have been nice if someone stopped by to see if we wanted anything else. I always enjoy going here.
I did not think I'd need a reservation, but made one just to be sure. It was pretty easy once I got to the website. We were early and they were ready for us. Our server was attentive, but not bothersome. Just 3 long time friends, you can imagine we like to talk. They did not rush us in any way. The chicken, mushroom special was delicious. Thanks!!!!
Lunch with friends. We were the last lunch reservation but were never hurried, or felt pressure to finish our lunch. Food was wonderful. Portions large..everyone took hone a doggy bag. Ambiance is good. Restaurant is cozy and arranged for table privacy. Will definitely return!
The offerings, food and service are always top notch. Always an enjoyable experience.
Our food was exceptional. Thank goodness because the old 50's style ambiance was very sad. Pricey too. The bar was hopping.
Food and service tremendous, as usual. I go there monthly and I'm never disappointed.
food was well prepared and service was very good. Wine price for house brands was highest I have experienced, especially the Riesling.
Food is always great here. Always enjoyed everything I have tried. One of the daily specials are usually worth a try.
Food was delicious. Our server Debbie was great. Restaurant needs updated...but I would go again. Need to advertise to get more people there for dinner.
Consistently good Italian food, a restaurant where you can still gave a conversation and hear one another.
Good, service, good food, good selection of alcohol.
The restaurant is a bit outdated as far as the décor but the food is excellent and the service was wonderful.
This is in an office park so going in the evening affords plenty of parking. We had a drink in the bar which was comfortable and roomy. Surprisingly, it was not crowded on a Friday night so our table was readily available at our reservation time. Our server, Angel, was very polite and prompt. Prices are a little higher than I usually spend but we were celebrating birthdays. The food was bountiful and tasted very good. Would def go back.
The food was delicious, generous portions , good service
It had been many years since I visited this spot which is located within an office park in Green Tree. I remembered it for good northern Italian and seafood offerings, and that is still the case. A group of friends gathered here and all enjoyed it. Popular favorites like chicken Romano and veal Marsala are available, as well as items that are a bit more off the beaten path. The complimentary bread and oil are tasty, and the wedding soup is savory. House salads are very nice, and presentation of everything is well done. The place was surprisingly noisy on a Tuesday evening. A lot of business groups appear to gather here, but they know they are getting good food in a pleasant place.
Love this place. Not loud. Easy to converse. Most of all, the food is fabulous. Need to go back soon. The rotolo is the best!
The food was outstanding, as always: the steak special topped with cheese ($30), chicken parmigiana with portobello mushroom sauce ($25), fried zucchini ($9.95), riesling wine ($7.50) and vodka martini ($7.75). The restaurant is attractive and comfortable. The owner provided us a kind greeting and made us feel welcome. We were provided a choice window table. Our server was pleasant, attentive, and efficient. The same hostess who made us feel unwelcome through her cold and brusque manner on the last visit was present on this night, not much improved. It is surprising to me that the person who sets the tone for the evening at as fine restaurant like this is not a people person. I suppose the guests generally do not care.
The food was excellent (beginnings through desert) and the service was exceptional. We were seated in the corner by the entrance which took away from a quiet evening. We plan to return!
We were 30 minutes early, but hostess seated us right away. Waitress Brie was excellent, food creative, excellent marinara pasta sauce. We had Crab Cake, Grouper Special, Chicken and pasta. All were very good.
Our first time back in a few years last Saturday evening. Pleasantly surprised to find once again very good food and service. The restaurant had been recently painted and spruced up a little - very pleasant. Enjoyed our meals and intend to go back for dinner soon.
We've come for dinner at Scoglio's since it was located in Heidleburg and have never had a bad meal or experience. Food is always great, especially the different risottos and fish selections.
The dessert menu was extensive and the lemoncello was outstanding. Unfortunately, the wait for our meals was very, very long and the restaurant was not even crowded. only about 5-6 other tables.
Special friend in town
Good food but place needs to be updated
I wanted a nice venue to take my family for a nice evening to celebrate anniversaries and birthdays that fall in August...everyone enjoyed the night and not a bad dish. Service was excellent...the appetizers were enough for the whole group....
Wonderful food...atmosphere...service. One of our favourite restaurants.
Outstanding the food was delicious the waitress did make a mistake but did apologize everything was really good will be returning
The of is always exceptional and the menu is creative. Wonderful meals.
My last visit with Scoglio was all about the food. It was the overal best meal I've had in a great while! Everything was uniquely prepared and incredibly delicious. We ordered 3 appetizers - calimari, stuffed hot peppers , and escarole with beans. I got the lump crab stuffed sea scallops. My spouse got the crab cakes. My uncle got the spots and to this day, that was the most incredibly delicious fish I've ever tasted! I can't wait to go again and try the soups and side pastas. Highly, highly recommended!!!!
Just back from a family vacation, so the wife and I needed some alone time. I fondly remember one of the original Scoglio's the was closer to me, but they had moved to this "further" location. When it was suggested on Open Table, I thought I'd revisit the cuisine. On a positive note, the food was as I remember-- very good. The fried zucchini was fantastic. The stuffed banana pepper soup was very good. Also, the filet and the chicken were outstanding. On a negative note, the décor is unimpressive. It's in an office building, so I suppose there is little you can do. it was raining, and there is a small canopy leading to the entrance. All of the smokers were there, concentrating their effluence, so we choked our way in. The main menu has a few listed wines, but it says to ask the server for a wine list. I did, and she looked at me like I was insane. She said it's right there, and pointed to the main menu. I pointed to the phrase where it said to ask your waiter for the wine list, but again she pointed to the limited selection below the phrase. After dinner, I asked for a glass of port. She said "I don't think that we have that." So I walked past the bar, and there it was on the shelf.
The service was excellent. Extensive menu with great daily specials. Food was excellent also. Loved the home made ravioli.
All of our food was outstanding as always and we enjoyed the comfortable seating and old-style elegance of the dining room. Other factors, however, marred the evening. The young lady who seated us was cold, brusque, unfriendly, unsmiling, and unwelcoming. It was clear to us that she was annoyed when we asked for a table that was not In the center of the busy dining room. I ordered a vodka martini up with a twist of lemon. I was brought a martini with olives, no lemon. When I brought this to the attention of the server, her only response was, "Oh". She took back the drink and returned it within one minute. It was obvious that she or the bartender simply took out the olives and placed a twist of lemon in the glass. I could taste the olives in the drink that was returned. Arrival of our entrees took too long as has been the case here before. No one provided us any information as we waited for our meals. It appeared that the restaurant was short-staffed as the owner was serving many meals. The servers appeared harried.
Food was delicious, which I always find. There were a few large parties, one a birthday and the other looked to be at least 12, probably more, which increased the noise level dramatically. I'm figuring this also is the reason the service wasn't as attentive as usual. Loves: veal picatta, zucchini (the best anywhere) and Stella Drafts.
The food and service are always outstanding. I love the Spots. Delicious. We always return.
Waitress was unpleasant. Took forever to get our meals. Pork chops extremely dry and very peppery.
We visit Pittsburgh once every year and we always make an attempt to eat at Scoglio restaurant. Food is always wonderful, portions are huge and the service is always very nice. We'll be back next year.
Excellent food--always a lot of choices; specials and on the menu
