Great breakfast options- build your own omelet and sandwiches, lots of room
My friends and I went for a fun brunch to celebrate the warm weather. The host was very accommodating as the number of people in party changed & we requested upon arrival to be seated outside. Incredible service, got our food in a timely manner - and even though it was busy, they kept the bottomless mimosas coming so we never had to think twice.
Our group of five old friends had a fun reunion over dinner st Scion on a Wednesday night. Three of us chose the rockfish with crab as the entre; it was delicious. For dessert, two of us had the tiramisu, which was perfect.
The informal atmosphere and friendly service suited our occasion perfectly. None of us had been to Scion before, but we all said we’d love to come back.
My daughter and I enjoyed our lunch at Scion and will definitely go back soon.
This was a return visit from many years ago and not quite what I remembered it to be. Quality of food has gone downhill—met friends here for dinner and there were two dishes not good. One friend ordered the Salmon and it was over cooked. My husband ordered the Mac ‘nCheese and it was not very tasty. I had the Duck ravioli which was tasty. Waiter was friendly and attentive, but overall food was not worth the $100 we spent for dinner.
Had yet another amazing brunch experience at Scion! The service was great and the food was delicious! We even loved the other customers and made friends with the table next to us! It's always a good vibe at Scion. Can't wait to go back!
Fantastic cocktails and buffalo chicken bacon Mac and cheese! Service was slow and restaurant was noisy, but I really enjoyed it overall.
Loved the food here. The sweet potato nachos were amazing.
We had brunch here on Saturday, read great reviews regarding their bottomless mimosas and tasty food. When we arrived it was hectic and very loud so we opted to sit outside in the patio area. The hostess said it would be about 60 degrees, I'm from Miami FL so I was freezing with my coat on. Took about 13 min for a server to approach once she did she was pleasant she suggested trying the poinsettia mimosas and the regular both were good and had a fair amount of champagne. I had the crab cake benidict, it was ok. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles and enjoyed it.
New Year's Day Pajama Brunch! Staff was super energetic and upbeat. Their regular brunch menu was being offered and our party of five had a variety of items which were all good. Serving sizes were generous. The dining room was full and most parties had reservations. It was a nice brunch on New Year's Day.
The food was wonderful! Perfect for gluten free a celiac needs. Music wasn't really the vibe.
Everything was just blah. My girlfriend ordered the potato nachos and the potatoes were like thin chips. The whole thing left something to be desired.
I ordered the chicken and waffles and was equally unimpressed. Just overall blah blah blah.
Both the Crab Rueben and the Portobello Panini were tasty but the service was spotty at best. Our waitress forgot to tell us the fruit bar was included with our meals, was difficult to flag down for drink refills and disappeared when it was time to pay the bill. This neighborhood place is cute enough but bring a big dose of patience.
Scion never ceases to disappoint me or my guests that I invite to dinner. I've truly enjoyed the opportunity to invite friends to try the amazing selection of food offered at the restaurant.
The noise level is very high, and unfortunately on the day we visited, there was a group of VERY LOUD men that kept yelling, laughing to the top of their lungs, clapping, and basically indulging in loud and vulgar behavior.
It did not seem to bother the staff or the management.
I would not recommend this place
Went for my birthday with family and had excellent service. Tim was very attentive, charismatic, and friendly. The food was fantastic and the drinks were delicious. The prices for bottomless were very reasonable.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Scion tonight. Our host/waiter Gary was super nice and attentive. We didn’t have beer but they had a great selection. All our meals were very good as were the desserts. The dining room was just ok but everything else made up for it.
Disappointing....we went to Scion, once in Silver Spring (which was good), and then to the D.C. location.
Pros - the waitress was pleasant.
Cons - We went for their Happy Hour burger special (D.C. restaurant), and for a place that boasts a large beer lists, the waitress went through a string of beers that weren't available. This is the second time this has happened at Scion. A gentleman who came in shortly after we did was also shocked to ask about the beer list and then given a list of all the items that WEREN'T available. (Not a ringing endorsement, coupled with the fact that the place was nearly empty - and it was 5:30).
When we were ordering dessert, they were also out of 2 of the 5 items. This is a restaurant that is trying to lure people, and a large portion of their incentives are out.
For all this, the bill still was higher than expected. We won't be back.
We had a pleasant, quiet Sunday brunch on the upper level. Thankfully, unlike most restaurants, there was no piped in music to irritate us by making diners speak more loudly to overcome the musak. Service was attentive and pleasant, too.
Sunday brunch service was attentive. Noise level wasn’t Scion’s fault. It was because of several tipsy diners.
I made a reservation at 9:15 PM. Apparently this was too late for them for the kitchen it already shut down for 20 minutes before I got there. I suppose I could've notified us via phone, but they did have a great suggestion and they said that we should try Urbana across the street. They were lovely and delicious
Awesome! The wait staff is great
Food was very good. Service was friendly and timely. A little pricy.
Excellent brunch! We were traveling from out of a town with our dog and we were able to sit on the patio. Excellent service. Will return when we are back in DC.
great service and good food, restaurant could use updating in décor
The Scion was a perfect spot to reconnect with long time friends over good food and a cozy, intimate settIng for conversation. The food was delicious, creative and perfectly portioned. Waitstaff were attentive but not intrusive.
Wanted outdoor seating without the wait. The service was slow and inconsistant. The food quality was marginal at best. The location and sidewalk dining was great.
Food was great and you cannot beat the bottomless Mimosa's and Bloody Mary's for $15.00.
I've dined at Scion four times in the past few years. I would definitely dine there more often except that I live 50 miles outside of DC. As such, the mere fact that I go back may be taken as earnest that it deserves return patronage.
Good comfort food and a nice patio. Was disappointed that their menu as shown on Open Table was not up to date.
Ok but nothing special. Overcooked and greasy food . Dirty table cloths and pretty grumpy wait staff but good location
I'm not sure why there wasn't a manager on shift or any other wait staff except for one man and a busser whom they both didn't have any experience closing. This young man made a decision to close early and made for a very awkward dining experience. The food was decent but I won't be returning if there isn't good management. I'm disappointed and feel sorry for the individuals who were working under such bizarre circumstances.
The food was delicious. It was only a short walk from my hotel and definitely better than some of the other restaurants near by
Waitress was great! She even came after us outside to return our headphones that we forgot at our table!! Food was yummy too!
Salmon was severely overcooked. My wasabi caesar was for the very first time terrible.
Food and service was excellent! Very casual place and staff were super friendly and attentive. Drinks were also delish. Definatley will return again and highly recommended.
Food could be much better!
bottomless brunch was good!
We came to Scion to partake in their bottomless brunch option and we were not disappointed. We were a little late to our reservation, but the hostess happily kept a table open for us. The food came out very quickly (before we could even finish our first drinks). We were served by two waitresses, so we were always able to refill our bottomless drink option, which was very much appreciated. The Bloody Mary's were not very strong; however, the Poinsettia option seemed to be a better bang for your buck. The Poinsettia comes in a small carafe, while the Bloody Mary needs to be refilled at the bar each time. I personally ordered the New Orleans Benedict, while my friends both ordered the Healthy Start. We were all satisfied with our meals. The fruit bar was also a nice additional treat. We hung around for an extended period of time after finishing our food without any trouble from the staff - and they continued to refill our drinks, which we obviously loved! Overall, it was good value for our money, but nothing extraordinary. It was a quiet brunch, where we could catch up without excessive noise from other customers or loud party brunch music. I would definitely recommend Scion for a casual, budget friendly brunch.
