Amazing service, drinks and food 🥘
Absolutely wonderful! Great atmosphere and the best nachos I have ever had! Will definitely be recommending 😊
The ambience was soothing and the staff were respectful and very hospitable
Very polite drinks weren't to bad. They were very awesome at accommodating a party of 9 which consists of mostly kids. Definitely recommend this place food was amazing
Open for lunch and dinner, the restaurant was pretty quiet at 12:15. Tables have good separation and servers were wearing masks. Menu is small but covers all the bases. Service was quick, friendly, and efficient. I had the smashburger - a double cheeseburger served with fries. It was well made and good, with greens, pickles, and dressing. Lunch for two without alcohol was $37, tip extra, so good value for downtown Boston. If you want a quick decent lunch and maybe a couple beers or cocktails, this place is solid.
Great service. Drinks were great as always. The staff was so attentive!
I made a reservation for a table for one. When I arrived, I was steered towards the bar or a high top. When I explained I needed a table and proper chair ( I have a back injury) I was told no tables were available and steered to the lounge and a couch and a coffee table. I should have made a fuss.
My back was killing me.
Cocktail was excellent. Burger had more bacon than burger. Mediocre. Brussels sprouts were good but too much bacon and too sweet.
When I left, there were at least five unoccupied tables.
A waste of $35 at lunch. I should have eaten at Ruth Chris next door.
We went to Scholars for Sunday brunch. The food was very good, as was the service. Looks an interesting place to go after the sun goes down but we did not get that opportunity.
The food was good and not pricey, in my opinion. Their draught list was reasonably priced for a Downtown Crossing location. Service was good, and the table was ready 20 minutes before the reservation.
Food was excellent, service was spotty. We were there at lunch; we waited half an hour after we ordered, our food hadn’t arrived so we had to flag someone down about it (it was a weekday and presumably everyone in the restaurant was on a work lunch break). Took about another 10 minutes, food arrived but order was wrong. Luckily we weren’t in a hurry. In the end, the food was fantastic, the manager was very helpful, and one meal was comped.
Happy we made a reservation. My friend and I were seated right away and our food was outstanding. Excellent lunch.
Great service, reasonably priced food and drink, good selection of food. Food was very good and portions large. Would definitely return to this downtown location.
This place was great. It was close to our hotel. The food was good. The staff was very friendly. Would go there again when we get back to Boston.
Consistently good food and service. Nice lunchtime spot.
Came for a birthday dinner, the food and drinks were excellent. The table was close to the doors and a cold breeze kept rushing in. Can’t control the weather, still a good time.
A great place for dinner and drinks. Reasonable pricing and the food was outstanding!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and brought to our reserved seating quickly. The staff was very friendly and service was perfect. Our food was delicious and our cocktails were made to perfection. Friendly atmosphere of a mix crowd and clean bathrooms! I look forward to coming again.
Had a very good early evening meal in Scholars. The waitress was pleasant and helpful. There was an excellent menu choice and prices were very reasonable fir downtown Boston. Ambience was good and drinks choice was also to our liking. Would recommend.
I needed reservations for a group of four the day of the show at the opera house. Everything was filled up, and this was one of the few that still had tables. It was actually a great choice-not super busy, but still felt like a “happening” place. Drinks were delicious, and the food was good and very affordable. A great spot, and the two vegetarians in our group had plenty to choose from!
I've been dining out in Boston for 36 years and I don't know if I've ever had such a poor dining experience. I don't know what went wrong at Scholar's last night, but 1 of my party didn't get her meal and another got the wrong meat choice on her salad. The service was horrendous. I KNEW I should have worried when the server didn't write our orders down. I KNEW I should be concerned when it took more than 30 minutes to get the meals we actually did get. We mentioned to both the server and the manager that we had theater tickets for a 7:30 show, yet that was forgotten or dismissed. A nice meal with four friends became a race to share food before sprinting to the Opera House. The manager was kind enough to take all of our meals off the bill, but the whole experience was disappointing. Get your act together, Scholars.
We went to Scholars for an early casual dinner before a show at the Opera House. It was very good. Nice menu, excellent cocktails and friendly efficient service. The value was outstanding. We will definitely go again in similar circumstances.
The cocktails are outstanding
We went here for a pre concert get together. Table was near window. Seated promptly and excellent service throughout our stay. We ordered 3 appetizers and an entree to split. The everything but the kitchen sink nachos were good. I didn’t rate them great because I expected them to have more things on them. The quesadilla and Caesar salad were delicious. Our friend had the mac & cheese which was very tasty. Overall, very good amount of food. We walked around post dinner and thought it looked like a great place for late night. They have a beautiful upstairs area with couches and another area with a bunch of pool tables. Has a very new age, cool feel that looks like it would attract a twenty something crowd later in the evening. Would definitely recommend!
I met two girlfriends for dinner and the drinks were great, the wait staff attentive without being annoying, and the food was nicely prepared. Highly recommend!
Scholars Bar was a great place to start the weekend. My steak tips were perfectly cooked, and the drink selection was excellent. I'm definitely planning to come back.
Quick service, delicious food, very attentive.
Great food And service
The ambiance is amazing and the food was great. This is a great spot for a first date. Not to pricey but classy.
The food was very good, service was somewhat slow and the place was not crowded at all. There was a party at the front of the restaurant that was so loud though that is truly took away from the experience. The people sitting next to us felt the same way.
The place is big, there was plenty of space for us to be separated from everyone else and conduct our working meeting.
Food was pretty good. I got the fish and chips. Everything was fresh! The food did take some time to come, but it was worth it.
Great food and the server in training was very nice. The split bill concept seemed to be a foreign request which was a bit annoying.
A very relaxing atmosphere. Food was fast and very good.
My fish wasn’t cooked all the way and my plate was missing food. My fries was cold. Ugh. Took forever to bring my food. I had to keep asking while my colleagues was already done with their food.
Food and service were good but the noise level was too high.
For Mother’s Day brunch, food was on point, ladies loved the brunch. Our server was very helpful with selections.
Great food - love the new lunch bowls. Great service from the team to change an order due to a food allergy.
Thursday after work crowd was hopping, but service, food and drink were all awesome
I made reservations on line for 9:45pm on Sunday, April 21, 2019. We were a party of 4 going to a play at the Boston Opera House and then go out to dinner at Scholars after the show. We showed up on time and the restaurant was not busy at all, there were customers at the bar, so I did ask if the kitchen was still open and the hostess said it was closing at 10pm, but stated it in a way that she was trying to say it was to late to sit down and order. I made reservations, the question should of been “can I help you”, and I would of stated that we had reservations for 9:45, her next statement should of been “ right this was” and seated us! If you do not want business coming in after a certain time, please do not take reservations for that time. Extremely unprofessional!!!!
Ate here Easter morning. Nice menu. Lots of breakfast items to choose from. Very reasonable prices, lots of food! Had a party of eight and enjoyed a nice private table.
