I’ve been to Scarpetta and Scarpetta Beach tons of times but I must say the spaghetti wasn’t as good this time. I was disappointed as I’d mentioned it so much to my boyfriend who was visiting from Europe. Normally, the pasta is al dente and flavorful but this time the noodles were too soft and overall it was mediocre. The waiter was great however.
Loved the bread basket and spreads (it’s the small things!) and the service was great. The lamb, goat cheese and artichoke pasta was awesome- heavy so good one to share.
The food here is amazing. I’ve eaten here for times and tried many things off the menu. Have yet to have something that didn’t wow me. The spaghetti is so good. Ifs such a simple dish, but the best I have ever had. I also can’t save enough about the manager Avery. Everything we have dined here he has been attentive to all the tables, offered great suggestions and generally helped create such a nice atmosphere. He goes above and beyond for his customers.
Exceptional food and service.
Wonderful menu, knowledgeable professional staff, food is really good and well worth the price. We eat here often in off season, so glad to have such a great local dining option!
The food was phenomenal. Our server was attentive and excellent. However, when I make an 8:00 reservation I expect to be seated at 8, not 8:30. I would have selected an 8:30 reservation if that’s what I wanted. I found this unprofessional. It was as if they hadn’t planned appropriately for the number of people that evening.
First off, the food was fabulous, and our server was personable and pleasant.
But, it I found the blonde hostess to be rude and inattentive. After showing on time our 8:00pm reservation, and giving our name, I was told to be patient and have a seat. We were the either ignored (as as many as 6 tables were then sat) or forgotten. It took two more trips to the hostess and giving her my name two more times, and we were finally seated at 8:25.
I’ve been spending 20 Years visiting Gurney’s, and this was the only time I considered leaving the resort to eat elsewhere.
Luckily the food and dinner service left a great taste in our mouths. And kudos to the chef! My girlfriend spent most of her life living in Alaska, and this was the best Halibut she’s had outside of her Home state.
Our experience was amazing! They went above and beyond to get to know us and the food was absolutely amazing! I recommend this restaurant to everyone, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion! It was our first anniversary and they gave us a complimentary glass of champagne and also made our dessert extra special! They go above and beyond here to make our experience extra special. We highly recommend!
Beautiful in the off season, Fire Pit to watch the moon rise over the ocean. Great food! Amazing pasta choices, innovative menu. Noise level permits conversation among fellow diners. We will be back again and again!
They treated us fantastically for the first dinner after our wedding.
Good food and drink. Waiter was not overly friendly (...could have been having a bad day...as we all do from time to time). Most tables for 2 are crowded together but we dined early to avoid getting boxed in.
had a very nice dinner. 40 year old port was exceptional. strongly recommend
Our table placement was perfect.
Service was impeccable.
Food was excellent .
We were allowed to relax and take our time.
Perfect evening from beginning to finish.
Tasty great service and cool vibe- went off season can only imagine in season
We came to celebrate because we got married on the 14th. The food was delicious and the wait service were so nice!
Fantastic wine recommendation and bartenders.
Prices were on the high side, especially a $50.00 corking fee, but was a very nice evening.
Our waiter was wonderful. The food was good, not great.
MY wife and I were celebrating our 37th Wedding Anniversary and have a tradition of doing a long weekend even year at our favorite place Montauk, Long Island. As always I check your reviews and everyone gave Scarpetta great reviews and BOY where they right. From the moment we walked in you could see it was a special place. The staff could not have been nicer and made sure everything was Okay beginning to end. The best part was the FOOD. I had the Duck which was the BEST I have ever eaten and I have had my share of Long Island Duck over the last 50 years. My wife had the Grilled Salmon which was also superb. Without the next time I come I may eat there every night!
It was a great meal for our first anniversary dinner. Very good service and great food. Not the cheapest, but worth it for the special occasion.
2nd time at Scarpetta and the food did not disappoint -Food delicious. Shared the polenta with mushrooms - outstanding appitizer! ordered diver scallops which were cooked to perfection and the spahgetti - both amazing!!!. Waiter staff is always attentive and helpful. Great ambiance, lovely decor, and great outdoor seating to have an after diner drink by the fire. Will be sure to go back again when in Hamptons. One of my favorite places.
My wife and I wanted a special dinner for our first night in Montauk, and so we chose Scarpetta Beach. The restaurant has a beautiful ambience, overlooking the ocean, and tasteful modern decor. Our waiter was accommodating, but the service was on the slow side as the restaurant was full. We didn’t get our cocktails until the main course was served. The food was average, but perhaps we are spoiled by NYC dining venues. Overall, we had a good experience, and would return. The best part, was after dinner when we retired to the fire pit area to enjoy some evening cocktails. So relaxing!
We have eaten at Scarpetta in Montauk a number of times. Each time hoping that I am wrong. My appetizer was a warm radicchio salad. I thought it was awful. My main dish a lamb dish was not cooked enough. I asked for medium and it came out medium rare. The server took it back and my husband finished his dinner before I got mine back. If he didn't eat his, it would have gotten cold. The best part was the desert. My cappuccino was even cold and small. I may be in the minority with this restaurant. We are summer residents and eat at most restaurants in Montauk. This will not be on my list anymore
Wonderful meal in great atmosphere, and very attentive service.
We were greeted warmly and offered a table either inside the restaurant or on the deck. We chose the deck - beautiful setting and the heaters made a chilly night comfortable. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Food was delicious - only thought is the portions are extremely small.
Really great experience - beautiful view, service was knowledgeable and friendly, and food was outstanding. One of the best meals I have enjoyed in the Hamptons over the last few years.
Horrendous service. Waiter had no clue.
The food, service, and ambiance was terrific. Unfortunately I walked away disgusted with the restaurant because I came to find out that the wine we ordered for $180.00 was marked up 3x! How would you like to pay 180.00 for wine that you can buy in a store for 60? (I discovered this when I scanned the wine label using Vivino app). I expect wine to be marked up 2x. Anything more than that and I feel ripped off. So if you drink wine, stay away from this place unless money for wine is no object.
Over rated, Way overpriced and extremely noisy. Absolutely little value in what you're getting for the prices they are demanding. IE: braised octopus, I got three tiny, overcooked tentacles over a lot of small potatoes.
Main course. Black (squid ink) farfalle pasta with seafood. I counted about 18-20 pieces of pasta with very little seafood $38.00.
G T F O O H.
Food and service were great. Wine list was the most overpriced list I have ever experienced--several of the wines on the list were priced at five times what I paid for the same wines retail! That left a bad taste in my mouth even though the food was first rate.
Is it really too much to ask for wines to be priced fairly and not be made to feel like I am being fleeced? That also brings me to the outrageous corkage charge of $50, if one would like to bring a wine from their cellar!
We are not all "Bankers" or Hedge fund owners.
Food and service were great. Price a little steep and we froze outside while they took too long to get heaters going and to keep them going.
Party of 2. Clearly our waiter wasn't interested in us.
DJ Music a little overkill for Sunday evening dinner. I guess it went with the open fire pit and bar on the other side of the beach-front deck, but it seemed to be too much going on there for people to feel romantic and chill on the other side of the deck... but I think the old crowd was just overlapping with the young late-nite crowd.
Terrific birthday dinner. Food was excellent. Portions were just right. Service was spot on. The place was elegant yet understated. Highly recommend this place!
We took our family out for our own anniversary and
Food is great, view amazing, service so so
Scarlett's is a Must for the food. But if you aren't into a pulsing disco beat as you dine bring earplugs. If you prefer conversation with your meal, go elsewhere. Food, however, is fine dining at its best.
Great restaurant. Wonderful view on the waterfront in MTK.
Terrible service and none of the wait staff spoke English. We had to ask for water 5 times before getting our glasses refilled. we ordered a calamari and zucchini appetizer and there was like 3 pieces of calamari in it. Entrees were pretty good but not worth the price or the hassle of driving outside of town.
