Scarpetta Beach Ratings and Reviews
MY wife and I were celebrating our 37th Wedding Anniversary and have a tradition of doing a long weekend even year at our favorite place Montauk, Long Island. As always I check your reviews and everyone gave Scarpetta great reviews and BOY where they right. From the moment we walked in you could see it was a special place. The staff could not have been nicer and made sure everything was Okay beginning to end. The best part was the FOOD. I had the Duck which was the BEST I have ever eaten and I have had my share of Long Island Duck over the last 50 years. My wife had the Grilled Salmon which was also superb. Without the next time I come I may eat there every night!
2nd time at Scarpetta and the food did not disappoint -Food delicious. Shared the polenta with mushrooms - outstanding appitizer! ordered diver scallops which were cooked to perfection and the spahgetti - both amazing!!!. Waiter staff is always attentive and helpful. Great ambiance, lovely decor, and great outdoor seating to have an after diner drink by the fire. Will be sure to go back again when in Hamptons. One of my favorite places.
My wife and I wanted a special dinner for our first night in Montauk, and so we chose Scarpetta Beach. The restaurant has a beautiful ambience, overlooking the ocean, and tasteful modern decor. Our waiter was accommodating, but the service was on the slow side as the restaurant was full. We didn’t get our cocktails until the main course was served. The food was average, but perhaps we are spoiled by NYC dining venues. Overall, we had a good experience, and would return. The best part, was after dinner when we retired to the fire pit area to enjoy some evening cocktails. So relaxing!
We have eaten at Scarpetta in Montauk a number of times. Each time hoping that I am wrong. My appetizer was a warm radicchio salad. I thought it was awful. My main dish a lamb dish was not cooked enough. I asked for medium and it came out medium rare. The server took it back and my husband finished his dinner before I got mine back. If he didn't eat his, it would have gotten cold. The best part was the desert. My cappuccino was even cold and small. I may be in the minority with this restaurant. We are summer residents and eat at most restaurants in Montauk. This will not be on my list anymore
We were greeted warmly and offered a table either inside the restaurant or on the deck. We chose the deck - beautiful setting and the heaters made a chilly night comfortable. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Food was delicious - only thought is the portions are extremely small.
The food, service, and ambiance was terrific. Unfortunately I walked away disgusted with the restaurant because I came to find out that the wine we ordered for $180.00 was marked up 3x! How would you like to pay 180.00 for wine that you can buy in a store for 60? (I discovered this when I scanned the wine label using Vivino app). I expect wine to be marked up 2x. Anything more than that and I feel ripped off. So if you drink wine, stay away from this place unless money for wine is no object.
Over rated, Way overpriced and extremely noisy. Absolutely little value in what you're getting for the prices they are demanding. IE: braised octopus, I got three tiny, overcooked tentacles over a lot of small potatoes.
Main course. Black (squid ink) farfalle pasta with seafood. I counted about 18-20 pieces of pasta with very little seafood $38.00.
G T F O O H.
Food and service were great. Wine list was the most overpriced list I have ever experienced--several of the wines on the list were priced at five times what I paid for the same wines retail! That left a bad taste in my mouth even though the food was first rate.
Is it really too much to ask for wines to be priced fairly and not be made to feel like I am being fleeced? That also brings me to the outrageous corkage charge of $50, if one would like to bring a wine from their cellar!
We are not all "Bankers" or Hedge fund owners.
DJ Music a little overkill for Sunday evening dinner. I guess it went with the open fire pit and bar on the other side of the beach-front deck, but it seemed to be too much going on there for people to feel romantic and chill on the other side of the deck... but I think the old crowd was just overlapping with the young late-nite crowd.
Terrible service and none of the wait staff spoke English. We had to ask for water 5 times before getting our glasses refilled. we ordered a calamari and zucchini appetizer and there was like 3 pieces of calamari in it. Entrees were pretty good but not worth the price or the hassle of driving outside of town.
Came here to celebrate my husbands 60th. I made reservations thru Open Table and sent specific instructions to the restaurant thru the app that we were celebrating his birthday, I also mentioned it to the hostess when we checked in. They totally disregarded his birthday when dessert came. We had ordered dessert and I wasn't looking for any freebee. Very disappointing. Food overall was great. The cauliflower appetizer wasn't what was expected but the polenta was amazing. Duck and gnocetti with lobster was great. Limoncello and bomboni dessert were both great. Just super disappointed on the lack of my husbands birthday recognition.
Husband and wife who have been visiting montauk for 20+ years went for dinner on a Monday night ( not sure what a weekend might be like).
View is like no other on Long Island.
Service was fantastic(thank you Michael).
Top ten experience ( it is ok to spend a little more than you might usually).
Don't want to bore you with side (dis) tractions.
You should go.
And you should also go to Surfaide for brunch and be sure to order the Surside BLT and enjoy a Jamaican Bad Boy, too.
We have been to the majority of Scarpettas our fav was at the Montage in Beverly Hills, but they were asked to leave: corporate/Montage/LA.??
The one in Montauk was identical to the food we have had in the other locations.
We will be back.
Nice bar/fire pit outside of restaurant for before or after drinks.
We had such a wonderful time from beginning to end; hostess was friendly and welcoming, our server Tiffany has such a lovely disposition and knowledgeable on the menu offerings. Each dish; foi gras duck raviolis just perfect, halibut and roasted chicken all super flavorful, the cheesecake was light and delicious. Great view, great attentive staff...best restaurant we've found in the Hamptons. We will be back soon.
We sat outdoors . In the beginning server was very charming and helpful. As the night grew it became uncomfortable outside. We asked several times to have the heaters turned on. NADA over and over.
Finally sat inside!!! Our waiter no longer assisting. Other waiter ( French I think) he was not interested.
So he got a 'not interested 'tip.
Too bad food excellent, environment could. E made much more accommodating
