The food at Scarlatto's is, dependably, very good, as is the service. With the downturn in customers this past Wednesday (the last evening theaters will be open for a while), the food came out very quickly. Always a good choice pre-theater.
Great place for a pre-show meal that isn’t extravagantly priced!
We came after a show, late on a Sunday evening. We were the only ones there which put us a little on edge. Turned out the food was very, very good. We had a fine bottle of wine, at good value. Service was quite professional. We didn't have to worry about the noise level. :) Overall, a real find for a meal before or after a show.
What a perfect pre theatre dinner. Excellent service, such a lovely waitress, and delicious pasta and wine. Heartily recommenced.
Delicious food! The portion sizes were huge. It was a busy night but the staff was very kind and efficient.
Lovely experience... food is always good & well presented.
So convenient to the theater district. Great service and delicious food.
My cousins and I met for dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed the meals and the ambience! Very nice low key restaurant.
Great service and food. We have been to this restaurant before and will go again!
This was an excellent option during the Part 1 break we had in our play. It was in close proximity to Broadway and was located on Restaurant Row, so you know it was a good choice! The food was excellent and the service was like that we received in Italy. If you are used to the server constantly at your table, asking how you are, this might not be the place for you! We will definitely be back in future NYC visits.
Fantastic! My husband and I always come to scarlatto. Never disappointed! Fantastic food and staff.
Pre show dinner. Excellent service, good portions and nice space
I love this restaurant! This is my sixth time dining with them and each time I come it’s better. Thank you for the quick service and amazing food! We had a lovely evening and enjoyed ourselves immensely!
Very nice dinner. Second time at restaurant. Meal was excellent as well as service. Reasonably priced. Close to theaters.
All diners were quite satisfied. The calamari was crispy, not greasy like in a lot of places. Gnocchi was light and delicious. Both people who had rack of lamb loved it. Saltimbocca was on a generous bed of fresh spinach. Red snapper also not a skimpy portion. Desserts were good. . Even had fun waiting outside for our table to be ready. [There was a medical incident which delayed our seating just a bit]. But the hostess couldn't have been more pleasant and the service was good - attentive, but not overly so. Over all very pleased to get this meal in a touristy area.
Very good typical northern Italian fare cooked well and served expertly. We had a noisy obnoxious table next to ours which was annoying but not the restaurants fault.
Good was Delicious, service was perfect and nice ambiance. Perfect evening before going to our show.
Great food and conveniently location for 6:30 pm dinner for 8pm show 2 blocks away.
Food was fantastic! Service was very attentive. Definitely returning in the future.
It was outstanding!
We loved our dinner at Scarlatto’s! The only small problem was the noise level was very loud but that is not the restaurant’s fault. Just very loud and happy customers. Not great for trying to have conversation.
If you're looking for an Italian restaurant in the Theater District, this is it. On the other side of 8th Avenue from Times Square, its got a great location, and a very nice menu. Our 5:15 reservation was ready when we arrived, and we found the ambiance to be what you'd expect. The food was good and hot, the wine list was varied, and the price was reasonable. My only comment would pertain to the service, and I suppose its the nature of the beast when dining before an 8pm curtain. I made the reservation for 5:15 so that in case our table wasn't ready, or in case the service was slow, we'd still have time to get to the theater. But in cases like ours, where our table WAS ready at 5:15m and the service was NOT slow, I got the feeling they were trying to turn the table one more time before curtain, so we felt rushed. Mains arrived while appetizers were still on the table, fork was barely down from the main, and the dessert menu was in front of us. Waiter was rushed to the point where he forgot to bring the tea my wife ordered with dessert. I'd certainly go back to Scarllatto for lunch, or later in the evening, after the nearby curtains had already gone up.
We went for Valentine’s Day and were able to make a last minute reservation and were greeted promptly & politely upon arrival. Food and service was average and there was a good amount of options on the menu. We enjoyed the ambiance and comfort of the restaurant — a cute place to dine.
Valentine's dinner. From the moment we arrived, the hostess was very warm and welcoming. She sat us earlier than expected and our waiter arrived within 2 minutes. Service was attentive and professional the whole evening. Wine selections and drink options are typical for this type of restaurant. Food was the standout. Crab cake appetizer was the best I have ever had (recommend by the waiter). The dinner specials for V Day were excellent. Spinach and ricotta stuffed tortelini with prosciutto and cream sauce had amazing flavor. Dessert selections were quite good, we shared a tiramisu that was also probably the best I have ever had. Overall, it was a very nice experience and worth going again.
We really enjoyed our pre-theatre dinner at Scarlatto. Service was friendly and spot-on. Everything was served piping hot from the kitchen. Food was delicious with great menu items and specials to choose from. Decent choice of wines by the glass. We would definitely recommend and return.
It was Valentine’s Day, which can be a nightmare in a restaurant, instead we had a lovely table, a delicious dinner, and got out right on time to catch our 7:00PM curtain time. Kudos.
We were in NY for our Westminster show and came to enjoy our dogs win here. It was an amazing find and we loved everything about it. Each item on menu we had was par excellent. Our only regret is that we wish this restaurant was close to us in Philadelphia.
Everything was outstanding. The food, the service, the wine selection, the smooth jazz playing in the background. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We typically eat at Becco but wanted to try a new restaurant. The service, food, and atmosphere were collectively outstanding.
We will definitely return to dine again.
We went early before the theater. They didn’t rush us and the food was delicious!
This was my first visit to Scarlatto’s since they moved to this location. The venue is inviting and pleasing to the eye. The service was excellent and we neither felt rushed nor forgotten, as we enjoyed our pre-theater lunch. I wish their menu offered some more WW friendly option, but the extra points in the veal saltanbocca were worth the splurge. Wish they offered price-fixe options at lunch, as in their previous location, but, the quality and authenticity of the Italian dishes we ordered were perfect. We will definitely return.
A very nice pre-theater lunch. Quick service with nice sized portions.
Pricey but good. Very centrally located on restaurant row
Excellent service, excellent location, good ambiance and good - but not great - food.
A perfect spot for pre-theatre dinner . All the dishes were delicious and the pasta was very fresh. The only downside was there is no bar to wait for others to arrive. I highly recommend.
Everyone was very nice and service, once it began, was good. The problem was that we waited 45 minutes past our reservation time to be seated and then another 15 to see our waiter. My husband had to go ask the hostess for our waiter to come over because we had a show to attend. We had made our reservation for 2 1/2 hours before showtime and ended up just making it. Food once we got it was good.
Scarlotto's never disappoints!!
Service & food are consistently great and they always get you to your show on time!
Good value for the money. Service was good and we were not rushed. Portion sizes were very good. The prices for many of the dishes need to be revised on the menus that are on Open Table and the Scarlatto website. The menu prices were considerably higher for most dishes, especially the entrees. The prices for the on-line menus need to be updated as they are inaccurate and somewhat misleading. There shouldn't be surprises about this.
Fantastic spot for a pre- or post-theatre meal! The food and service were both excellent. Tables are packed pretty tight and the noise level is pretty high when the place is busy. While I wouldn't recommend for an intimate or quiet date - it's perfect for a night out with friends. Will definitely go again when next in New York!
