I found Scarlatto on Open Table when I did a search of restaurants near Times Square. We came in to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular but had a walk up from Penn. The restaurant was expecting us, the table was ready. Food came quickly and was delicious! I had the pumpkin ravioli with sage and brown butter. So tender and light! Would definitely come back!

Unfortunately, we were not very happy with our visit to Scarlotto's. We were placed in the upstairs dining room, which is in need of an upgrade. We ordered our food and it literally came out within 10 minutes -- overcooked and cold (not sure how that happens). I ordered Veal Saltimbocca; my husband ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs and we shared our dishes. The sauce on the veal was tasty and that's the best I can say about our visit. Sorry.

In between a Broadway double-header. Lovely little place with pleasant lighting and surroundings. Service was excellent. I had the gnocchi off the prix fixe menu. Light and tender with a delicious tomato basil sauce. The mixed green salad was fresh and tasty. And the cappuccino ice cream cake for dessert is a must have. Would definitely return

Overall it was a very enjoyable dining experience.

My only comment is the restaurant had 3 diners when we arrived.

The gentleman who showed us to our table seated us at a table by the fireplace that was practically on top of a another diner. I thought this was ridiculous considerating all the available seating in the restaurant. Needless to say, I requested that we be seated at another table, that gave even space between all customers.

There is only one reason to eat here: if you are going to a play on West 47th Street. Otherwise, you can get better food and better service at La Masseria on 48th and can do at least as well at any number of spots on 46th.

Great find! We needed a mid-priced good restaurant near the theater (Brooks Atkinson 2 doors down) we were seeing a show at 8. It was good italian food, friendly for my teen. We did not order from the pre-fixed dinner menu. Bread and parsley dip was different and fresh. Ravioli was delicious, salmon was average, chicken parm was tasty according to my daughter. Only complaint was sitting upstairs, roomy but not vibrant like restaurant below and rather chilly that night. Service was fast, nice cabernet with dinner. Desserts were average, best was chocolate cake was warm and delicate. Very convenient location.

This was our fifth visit over the last few years and we like it so much we keep going back - Great food, first class service and reasonable prices. There is never a feeling of being rushed, but if short on time and they can seat you, they can accommodate you. Never a bad experience here though it can feel a bit crowded at times. Overall, we'll come back again!

We had been to a matinee, walked almost next door and we were greeted by a lovely young lady who took us to a great table. Staff friendly, not rushed, lovely way to end a visit with friends.
Perfect for after a matinee and before an evening show. Yes, a price fixed menu.

We went to Scarlatto after a matinee. Our first impression was how spacious the restaurant is and how the tables are spaced nicely apart so you don’t get that crowded feeling. The menu was very good with a nice amount of choices. We all chose the very reasonable priced fixed dinners, priced at $29.50 for a three course meal. We ordered mussels for our appetizers and they were delicious! The white sauce with little pieces of tomato was absolutely outstanding and we loved soaking up the sauce with the toasted bread they served with it. That bread was even better than the bread they first served. I had the veal scallopine over spinach and the portion was very tasty and not skimpy. Desserts were excellent. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and will come back.

There were 7 of us for dinner right at theater rush hour and it was fabulous! We weren't going to the theater but you can tell they were able to accommodate all the theater goers and get them out on time. We weren't rushed at all and the service and food was wonderful. I would highly recommend this place.

I wish open table had 1/2 stars. I feel unfair giving Scarlatto a 3 overall but it did not measure to a full 4 in Manhattan. But I will say we enjoyed our entire experience. Wife’s pasta was great but my lamb, although perfectly cooked and seasoned was gamey which for me is the kids of death for lamb. It was a special and cooked so perfectly. I hold no grudge, the salad and starter were very good and as I said my wife’s gnocchi was very strong. . Service excellent and menu very reasonably priced. Location was great and I would go back.

Went for dinner before the theatre with a group of out of town friends. We had made reservations but I did not specify downstairs. When we arrived the hostess noticed a member of our group had some difficulty walking and asked if upstairs would be okay as that is where our reserved table was. I told her I did not think my friend could manage the stairs and they immediately prepared a table for 6 downstairs. They were very accommodating. The food was delicious and my friends loved the "NYC" ambiance. Our dinners came out quickly so we could enjoy without rushing to make the theatre. It was a wonderful evening. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because it was a bit too noisy for me. Otherwise it was perfect!
