Scarlatto Ratings and Reviews
We go to NYC every year and have eaten at Scarlatto's many times. They have moved from 47th St to 46th St in the past two weeks, not sure if they are under the same ownership/management, but the food was not nearly as good and the management was not friendly. The owner/manager looked at us at least 5 times, but never spoke. We will be looking for another Italian restaurant for next years visit.
i love the food. always delicious. our pre theater go to, always. the restaurant moved recently and we were unaware and circled the block twice and then finally asked a doorman. first time ever service was not A+. at least 4 different waiters plus the maitre d visited our table.used to having 1 excellent waiter
Our food was very good however, the service was poor. I ordered lasagna, which was delicious; however, I was never offered Parmesan cheese until I was almost done with my meal. Our meals were served by a food runner and were served to the incorrect person; always wonder how this happens when it is just two people.
There are too many wonderful restaurants in the area to try so, we will not be returning to Scarlatto’s.
Amazing addition to Restaurant Row! Large, hearty plates filled with scrumptious Italian food. In this cold weather it warmed the body and soul. The lasagna was the rockstar dish and the portions were amazing. I have left overs I’m looking forward to having for lunch. We will with out a doubt be back to try more menu options:)
We've dined here a number of times over the years. For a place that serves this many people and gets them all out to the theater on time, they do an outstanding job. Our last meal in the present location was excellent all around: bronzino, halibut and short ribs with saffron risotto (although the risotto was not al dente). Looking forward to the new location.
We were seated next to the kitchen doors which was a bad start to the evening. The waiter was not very friendly - perhaps that's expected in New York. The eggplant parm was not very warm. The caesar salad was not very tasty, I detected no anchovy paste. The pumpkin ravioli was the only really good item ordered. Overall, meh.
We went to Scarlatto on Christmas day in New York, as it was close to our hotel / Times Square, easy to get to and had really good reviews. The food was really nice and the waiters were all friendly and offered a good service. We'd really recommend this Italian restaurant to all!
This is my second time at Scarlatto and the change for the negative was unbelievable. Service was rushed. Wine was watered down (pinot noir that you could see through, tasted like grape juice). I tried a different wine (merlot) for my second glass - exactly the same problem. Food was so-so, passable, but it was unfortunately comparable to a bad italian chain such as Olive Garden. So many good italian restaurants in Manhattan. Definitely skip this one...
