Great Roman classic dishes with accents of Tuscan fare.
Go to restaurant when in the theater district of NYC
Delicious food and not overpriced for Manhattan. Would definitely recommend!
The owner of the restaurant was meeting most people at the restaurant which I feel is not super common in Manhattan. He was very welcoming and the waitstaff was also great! Food was really good. Great drinks
Excellent food! Excellent service! We will be back.
Food was delicious but we were so rushed, it was hard to enjoy it.
Scarlatto's is my favorite place to go in NYC. I have brought several friends and family members and all have been very happy.
This last visit one of the waiters had called in sick at the last minute and Fernando was waiting tables alone. He did a fantastic job. There were several tables and he was still able to provide great service in a friendly professional manner. He stayed calm and took care of everyone.
The food as always was wonderful. Beautiful presentation of everything, especially the salmon.
We met friends for lunch before the girls and guys headed off in two different directions for the theater. Our lunch was really enjoyable. The service is great. You can tell the Wait staff you have theater tickets and they will get you out in time, WITHOUT making you feel rushed. Very pleasant atmosphere all around.
What a wonderful place. The service was fast (which was great because we only had an hour), but they didn’t make us feel rushed at all. The meal was delicious and the place was lively. We will be back!
Food was great
Ricardo was our waiter. Amazing.
Good if you are in a rush before theater. Food was uneven--fantastic jumbo shrimp and beans appetizer (large enough for a meal), very ordinary linguine with clams. OK burger, dryish main fish dish. Servers too quite to remove plates while some guests are still dining. Very noisy pre-theater, probably a lot quieter during theater hours.
Nourriture italienne traditionnelle. Très bonne qualité des produit et du service. Personnel très agréable.
We had very nice meal. It was a warm day and the staff finally understood we were serious about turning on the AC. Our table was ready and our pre-theater meal was nicely paced. all the food arrived hot. The lasagne was a great portion and nicely seasoned. A veal dish was tender and a spicy seafood and pasta dish was nicely prepared. The rissoto special could have used more crab.
I would return to this restaurant. It is a good value for the theater district, and the service was terrific-from ordering to the food all arriving at once, to nicely made cocktails.
What a great surprise! We had low expectations for a restaurant in the middle of the theater district and we were so pleasantly proven wrong. The food was really excellent. Delicate homemade fettuccine with very well-balanced, light mushroom sauce was the standout. We had an excellent Sardinian wine. It took a while for the waiter to come to our table when we got there (we had to ask the hostess to get him), but once he came he was very nice and reasonably attentive.
Recommended by friends. Food excellent. Served hot and delicious. We're not rushed
Very odd experience. The waiter was very nice took our order and got our drinks to us quickly. I had the pear and Gorgonzola salad which was just okay, I’ve had better, but I was still excited for the main course to come out. Around the time you’d expect our meals to be ready the waiter came over to say the kitchen was having difficulty with the stoves gas, and was unable to cook. They didn’t charge us but we did waste 45 minutes when we had a show to go to. Left us scrambling to find something in time.
Food was delicious. Obviously a pre-theater crowd so very attentive service to get your order in and then a little lax after we ate. All together a very nice spot with good food. It got a little loud but I imaging it would be less hectic after 8:00 when the shows kick in. I would go back.
one of the better choices on Restaurant Row, near the Broadway theaters, great selection of appetizers and entrees, all of ours were tasty and reasonably priced, service was excellent and got us out in plenty of time
It was good. A little overpriced but it’s the city
Quick, casual dinner before a play. Food was delicious and service was attentive.
Great Pre-Theatre location.
Responsive and attentive service.
Excellent food. Great value.
It was absolutely excellent! Loved it! The food is divine!
Very good food and service. Small cozy place with a quiet ambiance
Scarlatto was perfect for a pre-theater meal. Service was excellent and food was much better than I expected. I will definitely return when seeing a show in the area.
DELICIOUS FOOD. ATTENTIVE FRIENDLY SERVICE. GOOD PRICING AND PORTIONS. WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK, WAS A RETURN MANY TIME CUSTOMER OF SISTER RESTAURANT PUTTANESCA. WHICH IS VERY SADLY NOW GONE ON 9TH AVE.
We started with a Buratta appetizer which was unbelievably delicious. My companions had never had it before and were very enthusiastic. I had the swordfish with asparagus and roasted potatoes and it was cooked to perfection. One friend had linguini and clams and another had lobster ravioli and all plates were clean. We especially commented on their home made parsley spread that they serve with their delicious bread. I would certainly come back again.
Great authentic experience. My one and only issue was ordering for my picky toddlers. I asked for plain spaghetti, without sauce. They brought spaghetti in a white garlic sauce with basil. It was tasty to me, but they wouldn’t eat it. They told me to tell them plain next time instead of offering new. I’m sure that’s exactly what I had done. They ate some bread and were ok. Otherwise, everything was more than great.
Our favorite place during our long weekend in NYC.
Good service, solid Italian food, not to noisy!
Excellent in all respects
Last time visiting the City with my daughter and her friend before they go away to college!
Have visited Scarlatto for 5 years in a row and LOVE IT!
We celebrated a friend’s retirement lunch and had the whole restaurant to ourselves for the most part. The waiter was attentive, patient and polite. The food was fine - salmon a bit over cooked but the carmelized onion topping was tasty. It was perfect for what we wanted but I wouldn’t go back.
Great place for early dinner before a show. Food was good, service was prompt, courteous and efficient.
We really enjoyed this restaurant. It gets quite crowded but our waiter made certain to check in on us at all times. the wine was great and apps were fantastic as was the dessert. My only small issue was that I have allergies (onion, garlic) and while they were very understanding of my situation, the food that came was cooked rather blandly. I'll never understand why chefs cannot substitute certain sauces instead of simply leaving them off.
There are hundreds of restaurants to choose from in NYC, but we keep coming back to Scarlatto every time because of the exceptional service and wonderful food.
Dining at Scarlotto is a memorable experience! It begins with the warm welcome at the door, the selection of items on the menu, the impeccable and attentive service, knowledge of the wait staff, and culminates with taste of the deliciously prepared food! I look forward to many more wonderful meals at this fine restaurant!
Ultimate New York Italian food!!!
Food was outstanding. Possibly the best salmon (prepared with carmelized onions) I ever had. Service, once it started, was very good. But we had to wait 40 minutes for someone to take out order - and only because we ended up flagging another waiter down. When your patrons have show tickets (and even when they don't) that's just not right.
This restaurant is nicely decorated and well lit. The food and wine were delicious. They have many great choices for all palates. The service was great and reservations on weekends is a must
The service was good and food was excellent. Overall great time!!👍🏾
