Food was very good and so was the service.
Room does get a bit noisy.
My friend and I had the pinot noir- very good. She liked her Caesar salad and pumpkin ravioli with ricotta cheese and sage butter sauce. The ravioli were in the shape if wontons and the filling was a little bit sweet, which is not to my taste but she liked it. I like the flat ravioli shape better. I had the risotto with lamb ragu- out standing dish- very creamy and flavourful and the meat was tender. We shared the profiteroles for dessert which were good-standard- nothing special. Overall very pleasant meal. Very homey décor- lots of family photos and flocked red wall paper and exposed brick. We sat comfortably for 2 hours. The service was good. There was a large round table in the front of older men who were a bit loud but when they got their food they were quiet while eating- good for large groups.
Pre theatre dinner. Timed perfectly!
Fantastic!!!! Delicious. Attentive staff. Always a pleasure. From appetizers to entreed..... delicious!!!
First time in their new location. Same menu as at 47th St. Space more congested than before - tables closer together make it difficult for waiters to navigate. Pity the bar is at the back of the restaurant and only has 4 stools - not sure how easy it will be to get a meal at the bar, which was a go to at the old location. Overall still a reliable place for pre theatre eats.
New location is small, cramped seating and tight to maneuver around but food and service continues to shine and will keep me coming back for pre-show meals only - it has lost some of its charm although decorated almost the same.
Great location and ambiance. Appetizers and dinner were presented well and delicious. Appetizers were a bit expensive, dinners more reasonable, but worth it when the food is good. Will be back!
Entrees were mediocre.
Service was wonderful, but noise level when the restaurant was full was not great for conversation. Wait staff accommodated all our quirky requests. My husband wanted more pasta sauce, then pasta water to thin out sauce. We would definitely return, but at an off hour so we could hear each other talk.
The new location is VERY uncomfortable.
A good experience.
Food was wonderful, service also very good. Will come back.
We dined nicely at Scarletto before a theater performance. It was a perfect place for the occasion- the service was excellent, the food was very good and we had a nice selection of by-the-glass wines from which to choose. We were able to converse at our table and had ample time to get to our venue. We would definitely return- a good find.
Served chicken scapiella, which was raw in parts. this should never happen. Chicken parm was overcooked and dry.
Pear salad and zuchini calamari were good
Great authentic Italian cuisine. The service was excellent and the location was perfect. Enjoyed dinner prior to our show. We were in and out quickly and the prices were extremely reasonable. We would definitely go back!
Loved this restaurant! It is very rare to find a restaurant in NYC in the theater district that doesn’t rush you! Had to actually call server to ask for check. Our server was warm and inviting (wish I had gotten his name). The atmosphere is cozy with white tablecloths and tables not on top of one another. Wine list was great. Food was very traditionally Italian nothing very different but delicious. Will definitely return and recommend to friends. Prices were very reasonable for NYC. My new favorite place it go when seeing a play in the city.
We went here for my daughters birthday after a matinee and were delighted. I had made a mistake with the reservation time and I called them during intermission to tell them we’d be late and they did tell me that there was a reservation after ours, but they would do everything they could to accommodate us— and they did. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was amazing. We had the mussels special, eggplant parmigiana, pappardelle bolognese, linguini with clams and 2 different salads. Everything was delicious! Not a complaint from anyone—we highly recommend Scarlattos
This was our first meal in the restaurant's new location. The ambiance was the same and the food continues to be very good. We appreciate the restaurant because it usually is not crowded and more quiet than many other restaurants,.
The food wasn’t good
Poor customer service. The price-fixed theatre menu on the Open table site was not available. I asked to speak with the manager. He said it was taken off months ago. When I showed it to him on my phone, he said that that was not the restaurant's site. He was not accommodating and clearly had no interest in speaking with me about it. There should be attention to detail. If he is a restaurant on Open table, the proper menu items should be reflected there.
Very good food, a bit cramped and noisy at height of pre-theater, really nice when the crowd thins.
We were on our way to the theater and decided to try Scarlatto. The restaurant has a nice ambience & vibe. From the hostess, to our waiter, to the busboys. The service was wonderful. We loved the atmosphere. The drinks were delicious as was the presentation. Had a champagne cocktail which included a rose carved out of strawberry, very nice touch. The cosmopolitan was made perfectly. The food was delicious. We had the eggplant and the risotto with mushrooms & truffle oil. We recommend both of them. Capped it off with a cappuccino. Dessert menu looked good, but filled up on the main course. Next time. If you are looking for a great little Italian restaurant near Times Square you can't go wrong with Scarlatto!
Pre theater dinner delicious food, courteous service, timely pace of meal since we had a 7pm curtain. Gorgonzola pear salad with a twist, delicious ziti and eggplant dish and glazed salmon all shared and all delicious.
A definite return for us!
Great restaurant for a good meal with spending a fortune
Love the new location. Food and service still excellent. Looking forward to my next visit.
Delish!!! Corn and mozz ravioli beyond Delish. Fried calamari so fresh. The whole meal was fantastic! The new location is great.
Tourist trap-wasn’t expecting great but really thought the food was disappointing
Good value. Large portion sizes. Delicious lasagna. My granddaughter was really in love with the profiteroles.
Great food, Good atmosphere and great service.
I had the seafood risotto and it was excellent! The dip they have for the bread is also delicious!
Waiter was excellent. Food was delicious and fresh. Dim lighting was great.
The location may have changed, but the food is still consistently GOOD! Scarlatto is my go-to Italian restaurant in Midtown.
The food was great. The waiter was great. Can’t wait to come back.
Tables alittle too close together ,but good food and beautiful shirley temples 😍
Scarlatto recently moved to a new location. The new space is charming. We loved our meal and the service was excellent.
I saw it on WCBS channel 2 and decided to try it before a play. My wife and I enjoyed the experience and will come back.
We celebrated my Mom’s 86th Birthday there. The service was excellent. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. We enjoyed the meatballs as our appetizer. My cousin Christina enjoyed her pasta dish. I enjoyed the salmon with vegetables. My Mom enjoyed her Italian entree. After dinner, my Mom had Tiramisu with a candle in it and the waiters all joined in singing Happy Birthday to her. Very lovely evening!
I had been to Scarlato's Restaurant before at their other location and their new location is equally beautiful. Reservation time was spot on. Food and service excellent. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Great value Great Food
We enjoyed ourselves for my Birthday lunch! The service, food, ambiance and waiter were excellent!
