About Scaramouche Restaurant
Scaramouche has long been celebrated by customers and critics for its unwavering commitment to making each dining experience a memorable one. Chef/owner Keith Froggett's sophisticated cuisine is presented simply with care and attention to detail. The service underscores that philosophy: unobtrusive and respectful. The restaurant affords a stunning nighttime vista of the downtown Toronto skyline. These components and more make Scaramouche the singular destination it is. And the reason that the restaurant is consistently ranked as one of the city's best for more than three decades.

Scaramouche Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Everything was exceptionally consistent. There were no misses on the food, everything was top quality and well executed. The wine list is very well balanced, the cocktails were excellent. Service was professional yet friendly, and very thorough, the server knew her menu and wine list and made several excellent reccomendations. Never touched a wine bottle, never had an empty glass (until the bottles ran out).
Not a cheap night out by any means, but well worth every cent. Will definitely return.
Absolutely phenomenal. As stated by others the location is in an apartment building so the entrance is deceiving but for my date was a nice touch. During the drive to the venue my wife was somewhat hesitant, but when she saw the view, menu, and wine list she was ecstatic.
I highly recommend this venue.
It was overall an okay experience, I expected it to be much better.
Food: Wayyy too greasy and oiled up
The lights outside were cheap and that effects the view, they should be warm colour not yellow.
The city view was great.
Our feet got really cold, I was wearing boots!
The waiter that was bald wearing glasses made us feel weird for having Parmesan fries till the food gets ready, not to mention the fries while my date did fancy it, was also too greasy.
I liked the fact that we had to go through multiple entrances to get to the restaurant, made it feel cool, special, and mysterious!
I liked that the steak and lamb were all enough and we had enough to eat.
This restaurant has stood the test of time for a reason!! Toronto is a city of food trends and I find most venerable establishments suffer at the whim of diners. It’s a true testiment to the beauty and simplicity of Scaramouche that it has dominated for the better part of 40 years! There are very few restaurants in Toronto which can claim this longevity and superiority! EAT HERE! Be so lucky.
This place is worth it. Ambiance and service are superb. All staff members are courteous and efficient. From the person assisting with valet parking to the hostess. Joel was my waiter. It is very rare to find the level of attention and detail that Joel brings. The foi grass and the venison were outstanding!
The service at the restaurant is impeccable. Food prices are on the higher end but it’s worth it. Great tasting food and the presentation was beautifully done. You can tell that the waiters are experienced and they provided exceptional service. Great for a first date , birthday or anniversary. The dress code was definitely dressy. If you’re able to get a seat by the window I highly recommend it ! Although we weren’t able to get a window seat, we were close by and we were still able to see the gorgeous view. 10/10 for this restaurant ! Can’t wait to go back.
The service was superb.
We had the Caviar and the hash that accompanied it overpowered the flavour of the sturgeon caviar.
The beet salad was delicious. As was the milk fed veal.
I had the duck confit ravioli and there were certain spots on the dish that were overly salty.
The banana oat dessert was delicious.
Overall a great experience!
Celebrated a birthday here and could not have been happier with the excellent food, superb service and fabulous wine list. Great ambience. Subtle and non intrusive service which is rare to find. I had requested a happy birthday greeting and this was executed perfectly. The meal was an experience which we enjoyed immensely.
Just outstanding from the moment we walked in the restaurant. Host cared about what I said. Our server was perfect. She was professional, polite, business like, didn't hover the table but always watched to know exact timing. She looked stunned for a moment when I mentioned I had one complaint-the food was so incredible we couldn't talk while savoring every mouthful. Then she relaxed. I have sung your praises all over Facebook.
First time in Canada on a business trip. Wanted to get a taste of local food. This place was voted the best of 2016 in Toronto so had to try. Had the house special sturgeon it was AMAZING. Also had the soup of the day which was creamed cauliflower also AMAZING. My server Alex was attentive and asked about my day and trip to the city. Great views outside the windows of the city skyline. Alcohol selection was great just was not drinking at the time. Would recommend to all and return. It is pricey but you get what you pay for and I believed it was well worth it.
In the thirty years over which we have dined at Scaramouche the quality has remained absolutely consistent while the menu has adapted to fine food trends. The principles of classic epicurean cooking have been retained while innovative dishes have been included. The meal service is exceptional and of course the panorama of the city visible through the full length windows caps the experience
The ambience was romantic and beautiful. The server was personable and attentive. Unfortunately, the seared fois gras was cold, even after I sent it back on the second delivery and the soup was delicious but cold and the meals had obviously sat out a while. An inattentive table delivery can ruin a skilled kitchen. Our server was social, pleasant and knowledgeable, so whoever was in charge of table delivery of our food ruined the night.
Scaramouche is an outstanding restaurant with great dishes, attentive service and a wonderful ambience. It is not inexpensive as you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber but worth a visit. Leave room for their famous coconut cream pie with white chocolate. The view across to downtown Toronto at night is spectacular. Book early and get a window seat if possible.
Scaramuche is fine dinning at its best!
The ambient is sober and quiet, but relaxed; perfect for a couple’s night out or for a business lunch.
Food was simply extraordinary. I cannot affirm it was the best lamb I’ve ever try, but I would go for top three ever.
But the high note was, as it should be in fine dinning, service. Marcus, our server, was at the same time very professional, meticously caring of details, agreable and expert on both wine and menu.
Definitely one of Toronto’s best restaurants and if ever visiting town again, we will return
