Its rare that you find a place you can actually get DRESSED up and go out for an adult evening in Toronto without feeling out of place. I loved that everyone was dressed, everyone was on their best behavior. It has a fantastic view of the city, the restaurant had a classy, modern vibe. It felt like an episode of Frasier. A few decor things could use some updating. The apps we had 1 was outstanding the other ok. Mains both were amazing!!! Both fitting of the restaurants reputation. I suggest taking the waiters advice. Desert was the same as the apps. The service was one of the best I've ever had. So attentive, emphatic, eager to please and professional I loved everything about it.
Phenomenal experience. The service was absolutely top notch, and it was an incredibly memorable evening! Thank you very much, Scaramouche, for the great service
Wonderful food and great service.
Excellent service combined with a great view of the city. Have dined here dozens of times and have never been disappointed by the menu as the chefs deliver exactly what is promised and more.
One very small disappointment is the decor. Definitely time for an update.
It was a first visit after years of hearing about the place. It's an odd entry - into something that looks like an apartment building, then you go down stairs - but it turns out to be a lovely view of downtown. The restaurant was great - exactly what you would expect for an expensive dining experience.
Sublime is a word I don't use often, but I'll use it now!
Absolutely outstanding food and service!!!
Ah scaramouche.... in Toronto it’s understated elegance and consistency defies time .
I had dinner alone . Service (Sara) was attentive with a light touch .
The food ... seared tuna , then the lamb ... then a small cheese plate was perfectly cooked , presented, and matched with an excellent niagara Riesling and an Argentine Malbec humbly recommended
This place continues to defy gravity and time
I had the lobsterlicious dinner and the food is very fresh. Lobster bisque is tasty and dessert is good. The only thing is the portion is quite small for an expensive meal. My husband had the duck breast which is yummy too.
This was our third time to spend our holidays here. Not including the birthdays Valentines and so on . Food and service re never disappointed us .
It’s our one of favorites in GTA .
Great customer service and elegantly designed plates make this restaurant what it is. Its extensive wine list and wall to wall window, add to the romantic ambiance needed for any date.
Except the lobster bisque,to strong. Everything was exceptional, the view is awesome.
Great view of the city. Very good food. Very good but unobtrusive servers.
Service was extraordinary!! Food is very dealious, we had the lobsterlicous set course, and the meat is perfectly done.
Never fails to deliver a lovely experience! Still remains my favourite place to celebrate special occasions.
One of the best restaurants in the world. Outstanding staff and food. 10 out of 10 always.
Tried the lobster fixed menu and overall tasty food. Friendly service but highlight was the excellent sommelier who worked closely with our server to recommend and educate us on the world of Sherry’s. Really enjoyed the drink recommendations from our server and the insight from the sommelier. Complimentary valet parking was also a nice added touch to the experience.
Now one of my favourite restaurants in the city, completely faultless experience, would recommend for special occasions!
Had the special lobster menu in the main dining room. Food remains innovative and mostly very good, but service is rushed. First course was only good (lobster bisque flavour muted by excessive cream), but main course and dessert were very good and creatively done - great flavour, lovely presentation. Less than perfect scores are really for the service - very American in style unfortunately. Waiters are constantly trying to push you along faster, claiming that that's what people want. Within seconds of putting your fork down someone is is removing your plate, they are busily re-setting tables around you (it's 10pm on a Wednesday night, people - can't the re-setting wait?) and waiters are constantly rushing by the table to get somewhere else in a hurry. Not the most relaxing - more like a diner than a fine restaurant. Still, the view is beautiful and the food is very good. I'd likely go again for a special occasion and sit in a far corner.
My family likes to try different quality restaurants regularly. My husband and I really enjoyed this restaurant the previous time we had dinner here a few weeks ago so we decided to take our grown children to celebrate my birthday, 5 of us. Unfortunately, the experience was much different from the first time. Our server was nowhere to be found most times as we had to get one of the staff members a couple of times to flag him. Our meals took awhile and by the time we got them, some were lukewarm which we had to contend with as we didn't want to wait any longer. Once we were done and the table was cleared in prep for desserts, we expected the dessert menu would follow soon after. But that proved to be not the case as we waited for awhile for our server to come back, only because we asked someone to find him. If only we knew that dessert was also going to take along time to be served, we would have not bothered. In summary, food was tasty but service and food temperature was not up to par. The loud noise from a large group on the upper level was even more tolerable.
We just celebrated bday.We Enjoy the food.Everything was taste, with nice presentation. We were disappointing and surprised that such a classy restaurant charging for bread and tasteless butter.Dessert was very delicious.
Outstanding as always. This restaurant never disappoints. Always a great experience - food is beautifully presented and always tasty.
It was like stepping into a time capsule, from the 80’s wedge salad with iceberg lettuce?
Charging $3.00 for bread, REALLY? On top of that, the bread was ok at best!!!
I had to buy 3 orders of fries, as the main coarse lobster, was not that much bigger then a shrimp!!!
The glory days are LONG GONE, they should shut there doors!!!
Went to the restaurant with a date and asked for a window seat, all taken, that s fair, seated us in front of a big pillar blocking the whole view, we were seated thinking the tables with a view would be taken beside us , they weren't and we had a terrible view which is what the restaurant is half known for :( food was great
Took my wife here for her birthday. Food was delicious. It's busy, so service sometime soon takes a while. Great experience. Will visit again next year.
Celebrated a big birthday with friends. Love this place for that - food is outstanding - as is the service!
A special place. Fabulous service. We went for the lobster meal. Very creative. We had asked for lactose reduced
/free. Unfortunately I think this was forgotten.
Great service great food
For the fine singing experience I expect SERVICE! our waiter completely forgot about us. He literally didn’t return for an eternity. At least 10 times I thought I needed to get up and find our waiter at $150 a head is that normal? Couldn’t believe we were being ignored when the restaurant got busier. Hello.... here we are! Do I need to waive my hands in the air? What does it take for a restaurant to match food value and service. I’d never return
Very good service and comfortable ambiance. The dining room layout was not ideal. We felt like the table was in a hallway, right next to another table, with the view of the city obstructed by other diners. Tables next to the window should be obtained when possible. Food was delicious. The restaurant was able to accommodate a gluten free menu very easily except for desserts.
Excellent food and service for reasonable price! Would certainly come back and recommend!
Was recently here to celebrate the holidays with family. The service and food was impeccable. No matter what you decide to try on the menu you will not be disappointed. I will be returning in the near future.
Loved it here. Top notch everything. Run, don't walk.
Well thought out ambiance, with server's recommendations and attitude always being extremely sensitive to the needs of their diners. Took my girlfriend for the new year, and 100% worth it.
This restaurant definitely lived up to its reputation and it's no wonder why it's been a staple in Toronto for so long. The food was incredible - like seriously so good! My snapdragon cocktail was a perfect way to begin. Then, for appetizers - I got the steak tartare which was delicious, and my boyfriend got the ravioli - both were beautifully done and the sauce on his pasta was extremely well developed - in fact we would have liked a little more. For mains, he had the filet, which was cooked to perfection, and the potatoes were actually unreal and something I'll be attempting to learn to make myself. My scallop dish was perfection - fabulous sear on the scallops, and actually quite a good amount for what I kind of thought I'd be getting.
We opted for no dessert, and they still surprised me with a little dessert bite. Great first experience, and while yes - it's expensive - this was a really great special dinner. We will be back to try and pasta bar as well in the future.
As usual, a great place for dinner, great food, service and ambience. Expect a repeat visit, as the last one was. Lives up to expectations.
We would like to praise our waitress, Alex. She was friendly, attentive and very professional.
not the frist time to visit, and i will keep visiting here.
Never lets me down! Best restaurant in Toronto! Thanks Ian for another great evening. My partner had the best birthday ever!
We found the service was very professional, alert, and warm. Our meal was delicious.
Thank you to the team at Scaramouche for helping make our evening special
