Fantastic meal and service.
Great food and environment!!
Very good service and excellent food.
Great table, service was good, food fabulous, not too loud. Lovely night!
We had requested the table under the chandelier as we were celebrating my son’s graduation. We arrived early for our reservation, only 15 minutes after the reservation opened. Even though I booked the table months in advance and re-requested it on the phone a couple days before, when we arrived to a mostly empty restaurant, another party had been seated there. I don’t think anyone had even read forward in our reservation to acknowledge the request. It was certainly a disappointment.
Fantastic, lives up to the hype and reviews. Fresh ingredients and eclectic menu not to be missed.
Very good consistent food, though pricey. Superb Sea Bass, best I've ever had. Skip the puffed pita appetizer. Pretty unremarkable and bland.
This restaurant is just too good. The ambiance the service the food and may I say as a pasta expert, this place knows how to do pasta, simply amazing and easily the best pasta around. You’d be surprised it’s pretty hard to find a good pasta place.
Excellent service for our table of eight. Seated on time at an appropriately sized table. Food excellent as always.
Service was terrible . Food was OK, but not worth the price, even if the service had been excellent. Very disappointed since this was for a family birthday. Will never be dining here again.
From the Valet service through the meal, everyone we dealt with were outstanding, and the food was fabulous.
We had a wonderful lunch sitting outside.
Food was really delicious and the service was outstanding.
Overall it was a great time
We love Scampo...not just for the great food, but the fact that it's at the Liberty Hotel. We stay there when we are in Boston and it's so nice to just go downstairs for a really wonderful dinner. The menu is interesting, lots of choices, good wines, good service...what's not to like. Just be prepared for loud. This isn't a place to go for a quiet conversation.
Scampo is a truly wonderful restaurant. The food and service are always outstanding. The restaurant is lively and there is a pleasant energy that permeates the dining area. So many great menu choices. We will, of course, return.
A little expensive. Other options in the neighborhood offer a better value
A bit pricey and portions are small but very tasty.
Special occasions for sure.
Scampo has been a favorite of ours for a few years. We went for Mother's Day brunch which is really tasty, but were too late and they were already on the dinner menu. Turns out, it was terrific! The buratta starter and the proscuitto naan were great. We had a variety of pastas that were excellent and the halibut special was top notch. We'll be back!
It's your typical expensive bar/restaurant attached to an upscale hotel. Menu is kind of old schoolish- lobster soup and sirloin steak and lots of meat dishes, and if that's not what you're into but your parents are, and you don't mind paying, your parents will be happy and you'll find something on the menu to eat. Even the kids were happy.
We went for Mother's day brunch. Quite a few pizza options. Service was worth it, though, these hotel restaurants really stand out for service and Scampo was no exception. Don't overlook the portrait of the chef made entirely out of pasta, across from the entrance! My star ratings are based on my own preferences - organic, vegan, light - and that's just not Scampo so maybe not fair. My mom would give it 5 in all categories. Wheelchair/ Walker accessible, which also counts for a lot! Bring your parents (or better yet let them bring you!) $180 for 5 of us (pre-gratuity), no alcohol or dessert.
This place was so good and would 100% recommend it.
First time here for both of us. It was my boyfriends birthday.... Abigail was AWESOME! She was attentive but not intrusive. Hit all the steps of service and was just so nice and informative. We will be back... A++ across the board... Ambiance, food, value and 100% service. Ask for Abigail!!!! :)
The food was decent. The server was horrible. Our table was in the middle of ordering and he took off to go grate parmesan cheese for a neighboring table, while a guest was mid sentence. He would hover around our table at times and then jet off the second one of us started to speak. I can't believe I left him 20% for a tip. He got our dessert order wrong and wasn't very friendly overall.
The other serving staff that cleared items away and refilled waters were fantastic.
The hostesses would see you stand there and then check their phones, drink some water, and then act surprised as if they didn't see you standing there.
It was a very loud atmosphere-I wouldn't have called it 'energetic' as stated in the survey. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who is genuinely looking for a good dining experience.
We had the suckling pig - our dinner was outstanding.
We had a wonderful waitress- and the rest of the wait staff was attentive and not over bearing-We had another wonderful meal at Scampo! We always look forward to sharing that lobster pizza- it is so good- We had some prosciutto and mozzarella and tomatoes- The pasta sampler we received was so yummy. The bolognese was great. And one guest had the duck and loved it. My husband and I shared the Prime Rib special- it was OK- not sure I would order it again- All in all another wonderful evening spent at Scampo- Thank you for having us!!! Can't wait to come back!
The waiter we had was excellent, service was great.
The garlic bread and breadsticks were the highpoint of the meal as were the drinks from the bar.
The main meal was meh, nothing to write home about especially given the price charged.
It was overpriced given the quality of product.
I read a while back where they said Scampo was the best Italian Restaurant in Boston, not by a longshot.
Fantastic lunch service. Great place to host an event or work meeting or even intimate date. Amazing now that the weather is nice and patio is open!
It was perfect for lunch and we will try it for dinner on 5/11. I am sure it will be noisy at nite.
Consistently good. Always look forward to coming back.
While the food and ambiance exceeded our expectations, the service was some of the worst I have experienced in Boston. The hostess was incredibly rude upon our arrival and we saw our waitress a total of four times from the time we ordered drinks, appetizers, dinner, and received the check. When we first arrived every table was full, but by the the time we received our appetizer several tables had opened up. Given the price of the meal, the level of service we’ve had at previously Clink, and the high reviews of Scampo we were left very disappointed with the overall experience
I had lamb chops..(5*) fantastic. My partner had brick Chicken 4 did not really care for the peas and carrots... Ok, but the pate ?? My partner hated the string Beans , some kind of coating , maybe even fried?? Hard to tell, but not a fan. They get 0 stars. Overall, great place, again Lamb chops like the best I ever had.
Pork chop over cooked. 🙄
Really overpriced for the quality of the food. We had high expectations because we’ve had brunch at Clink before and loved it. My husband was served undercooked pancakes twice and finally the manager came over and offered to make him something else. My eggs Benedict was pretty mediocre. We probably wouldn’t go to Scampo again. At least not for brunch.
A great time was had. The staff was super friendly, the restaurant was beautiful, the drinks were delicious and the food was fantastic. Everyone was attentive and we felt comfortable and happy. Cannot wait to go back again!
Brunch with family
My wife and I like to visit the Liberty Hotel for our anniversary for many reasons. One is the terrific dining options available on site. One of those restaurants is Scampo. We had our anniversary dinner on 4/20/18. Kelly greeted us at the front and was very sweet. John was our waiter and was terrific throughout our meal. We dined on mozzarella with crab and avocado for an appetizer, lobster pizza and tagliata of prime sirloin. All fantastic! Even the breadsticks and dip were so great as well. We even came back later in the night for a nightcap, and the 2 bartenders were fantastic and nice as can be. Highly recommend a visit to Scampo!
I was told to try the elephant ear and the bolognese - both were a let down! The elephant ear yet cool wasn't as yummy as expected and as far as the bolognese it had NO flavor despite adding salt and cheese. My father got the lobster, my mother the duck and they accommodated my brother's vegan requests with a pasta dish, and they were all pleased with their meals! The drinks were delicious! The apple crisp was another let down, but they did have a sparkler in the cookie plate for my mothers bday which was a nice touch! I think I'd maybe give this place another shot considering everyone else enjoyed their meals, but wouldn't rush to go back with the price and the quality of pasta I received!
We were disappointed by the food versus other fine dining venues and the cocktails upstairs at Clink were much better!
We took my sister-in-law out to celebrate her 75th birthday. They never splurge on going out, and had just come from visiting their son in the hospital, so they both needed a break. Dinner was perfect. Pricey. Yes, definitely, but worth it to see how much they both enjoyed the food, ambiance and attention. It was a bit noisy for us "old fogies" as we could barely hear each other talk. But the food, wine and attention made up for it. Wonderful service, food was scrumptious, and the birthday sparkler was a big hit.
Food was spectacular
The food was delicious. However we felt rushed. More than 3 different servers kept asking me if I was finished. It is hard to enjoy your meal at this very expensive and special restaurant if you feel you must leave quickly to make your table available for someone else.
We have eaten here often and it's usual very good.
My friend's meal had to be sent back and mine was too spicy to eat.
