If you are staying at the hotel it is an energetic lace with good food but remember it is expensive and very loud so difficult for a group in terms of conversation and $$$$$

Food was indeed outstanding. Our server, however, was young and very inexperienced. He did not know the menu and made multiple errors. He was very nice and apologetic but needed a lot of help. other than that the overall experience was fantastic!!

Not a good experience this time, food not as good as before and took too long to be served. Rethinking about going again in my next visit to Boston.

Thanksgiving was pleasant and very busy. So busy that the staff forgot part of our order, but did not forget to charge us for it. The food was decent, especially dessert. My major complaint and disappointment was that despite specifically calling and confirming that there would be vegetarian entrees for my daughter, there were none. This has never happened in all my dining experiences. This restaurant is not an option for any vegetarian, at least not on Thanksgiving.

Our third Thanksgiving dinner at Scampo did not disappoint. Food was great as was the service. Will probably return next year!

All three courses of our Thanksgiving dinner were delicious and very special — from the cauliflower soup and the scallop appetizers, to the turkey and the veal porterhouse steak entrees, and finally the bourbon pecan pie, tiramisu, and apple compote desserts. Everything was perfectly prepared and unbelievably satisfying. Waitstaff are professional, friendly, efficient. If I had to find fault with anything, the noise level is a bit too energetic. But Scampo’s is definitely one of the best restaurants in the Boston area, and the perfect place to go for your Thanksgiving meal. We’ll be back next year.

Lovely meal, food was perfection. Guest sitting next to us insisted on watching a loud video on his phone which was annoying but not the fault of the restaurant. Servers are very well trained polite and knowledgeable. Impressive place.

Excellent food, buzzy atmosphere, but the menu (and waitress) did a poor job of describing the various types of dishes, ie, mozzarella bar, etc. other than what's in them. No idea size or consistency of the various confusing options. Salmon main course was not very creative and had little else on the plate except some wierd kind of vegetables. However, sea bass and duck was excellent. Tiramisu excellent but not as good as Whole Foods' tiramisu, which was shameful for this kind of a high end place. Noise level awful (as it has been on previous visits), making conversation at our table not enjoyable. For the price there's better high-end options in Boston.

Sadly not as good as it's been on prior visits, although still a pleasant vibe and fun Friday evening crowd, especially at the bar. Great bartenders and excellent cocktails. Duck app was great, although skin could have been crisper; crab cake very good if slightly overcooked. The two mains disappointed: the suckling pig al forno was tasty but not tender, and for $40 not great value; the bolognese was the biggest misfire...not sure what was going on as it was watery and had a strange overpowering flavor of (I think) pancetta. Will still go back, but not anytime soon. Hoping they are just going through a lull as I've been a huge fan in the past (miss the lamb chops)!

Had a fantastic evening. Our server Jason was great. Very attentive and helpful. Food was cooked perfect and the wine couldn't have been better. We highly recommend both Scampo and Jason as the server.

I had high hopes for this restaurant and it was good/average. I was not blown away. We had one of the pizzas which was excellent, but I also had the cacio e pepe and it was loaded with onions which I found odd and off putting. In addition, it had huge chunks of unmelted cheese mixed in - just a poor interpretation of what should be a simple and delicious dish. The dish would do better if whoever prepared it used some restraint. Overall, I feel like Italian food should be simple and delicious and I felt like the food was disappointing when they tried to make it more exotic. I would not return.

Hip, boisterous, Italian eatery located in the former prison, lot's of brick and exceptional innovative menu, to die for lobster pizza and great drinks.

This is a very interesting location inside the converted prison. We had a comfortable corner booth which was ideal for our business team celebration. The food was very varied from unusual breads to share to the unique mozzarella bar and other dishes flavored with unusual spices--my tandoori scallops were excellent. There were a number of Italian offerings but I had fish which was well cooked--always a good sign!

Service was great. Our server paid special attention to the fact that my husband is gluten free and steared him in the right direction when choosing his entree. I loved the bread sticks with the fava bean dip (amazing stuff) and the rutabaga gnocchi was tasty and nicely done. Wine list is substantial and includes
wines for every price point. Flourless chocolate cake for desert was the perfect ending to an enjoyable night. Liked the vibe of the entire place. We will be back!

When we arrive and the hostess noticed we had a high top table and asked if that was what we wanted. I said no and we then taken to a table in the corner out of the way but very nice. I personally think it was the best table in the house. Our waiter was excellent and in conversation we told him we had been to 4 other Lydia Shires restaurants over the years. While injoying our cocktails Lydia came to our table and we had a nice conversation. Both our dinners were fabulous. The duck was one of the best I have had. I was very impressed with the entire evening, the food, the service and the atomshere. If you are looking for fine dinning at its best this is the place.

I like Scampo. The only thing that ruins ambience - is 1 tv right across the bar. Doesn’t make sense to me when that type of place has TVs. It is not Tony C’s after all. I highly recommend management to take care of it. TVs always ruin the atmoshepre.
