Scalini Fedeli Ratings and Reviews
Service, atmosphere and food were all phenomenal. Will definitely return for a special occasion. Only odd thing was we were charged as if we cancelled the reservation within 48 hours of the reservation, which we realized after we had gone to the restaurant. I’m sure once we speak with them they’ll be more than accommodating as they were during dinner and assist us. Definitely recommend. Especially a round table by the windows.
I was very impressed from the moment our group walked in. Greeted by a friendly maitre’d who seated us quickly. Staff were friendly and very attentive. The food was excellent. From the antipasto to the dessert. Choices were plenty and each dish was better than the other.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely return when visiting New York.
Okay, it's a prix fixe menu. But for $70, you not only get 3 generously sized courses, you get multiple (I counted at least 4) complimentary items. These included desserts, truffle ravioli, and a dessert wine, completely complimentary! Think about the other prix fixe places that charge upwards of $150 per person.
The service is so attentive and friendly that it's almost unbelievable. You can ask anything of any staff and they will jump to your need. We didn't finish our dessert because we were full and the server was extremely concerned. We assured him it was okay, but you can tell they take your happiness seriously.
As for the food, simply magnificent. You almost have to re-calibrate your idea of what a good tasting meal is because this is far beyond the standard you've come to know.
This place = the best.
Wonderful experience. Table roses and candlelight reflecting off of arched ceiling gave a very romantic look to the room . Food was yummy and we truly enjoyed the attention given by the helpful and hard working staff. A step back in time in the best way. Highly recommend for a night out that leaves you feeling great.
This place was fantastic all around. Food was superb. We went with all the waiter's recommendations on food selections. He was right on all accounts. This is not the newest or hottest place around. I would call it a sure bet for a great dining experience. This place has been around for more than 15 years and from the looks of it .... it is not going anywhere too soon. One of NYC's gems.
From the moment we entered, we were made to feel special and not just like another table of 2. The waiter explained everything in detail, the Maitre d was professional and immediately wished us a happy anniversary. Food was rich, hot, and perfect. We would highly recommend.
I hadn’t eaten here in about 2 years. My last meal was not satisfactory (not bad, but not great and certainly not worth the cost) and the usually excellent service was just so so. But a friend and I just happened to be in the area, saw place and decided to give another chance. It was well worth it, the food and service were both excellent. Back to level I remember when first started going there.
I had a reservation at Babbo for this weekend, but I got this recommendation from my airport car driver and decided to switch. I am SO glad we did - everything was simply delicious. If you can swing it, the $115 pp 8 course regional tasting was to die for (especially if you're into truffle flavors). The plates are small (i.e. 3 ravioli) so you're not stuffing yourself. You really can't go wrong here though, the chef knows his stuff.
We are a younger couple and can sometimes be treated poorly at nice restaurants because they think we can't tip or don't understand the difference between good and great service, however, the service was really good and we were served with as much respect as the older businessmen and couples.
Also expect to spend some time here - they don't rush you and you'll want to enjoy the experience. We were there from 7 - 10:30p! It was surprisingly loud but not unbearable plus it calmed down after 830 or so.
Bottom line - make this part of your trip to NYC if you're looking for an amazing food and service experience.
I have worked in the food business my entire life. My wife and I both have a very strong affinity for Italian food. As native New Yorkers now living in Chicago we visited NYC for my 60th Birthday with dear (Italian) friends. Our experience at Scalini Fedeli was as good as we have ever had. Simply superb on all fronts! I have been traveling for business over the last 30+ years and mostly eat and entertain at privately owned Italian restaurants across the country. I appreciate all categories of Italian dining from the wobbly table joint to high tech fine dining. This is the top , especially if you participate positively in the care taken by these people to please. We are witnessing the aspects of fine dining slipping away to the more eclectic , low frills , less formal establishments. Thats fine as demographics now dictate it. There are so many working hard to please all customers. This restaurant however gives me hope that pure excellence in all facets of the dining experience are alive and well for those who seek it. BRAVO.
A great and pleasant restaurant with delicious food. A little pricey but worth the money. Portions are sufficient. Some may think they are small but we have never left the table hungry! Service is excellent and very attentive. They allow you the time to enjoy your dinner at your own pace. Definitely recommend it.
Scalini Fedeli is a welcome throwback in Manhattan. We've been going for ten years and love its old school approach. There's nothing trendy here, just outstanding food, a lovely atmosphere and attentive service. It makes a difference when you have an experienced on-premises manager like Nick, who keeps a close eye on things.
We enjoy taking guests from out of town, as we did again this week. They've never been disappointed. Neither have we.
Wonderful experience. Top notch service and food. Even on a Saturday night we were not hurried in the least. Perhaps the most pleasant room in which I have ever eaten - comfortable, elegant and quiet enough to have a normal conversation. Price Fix menu with good choices and that is a decent value (for top notch restaurant in Manhattan).
