About Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar – Richmond Hill
It's a little of this, a little of that and a whole new take on Italian.
Our story is simple. Everything we can make fresh daily, we do. Including our hand-stretched mozzarella (made-to-order every day between 5pm & 11pm), our pasta, our signature 1/2 lb meatballs, our dough, bread and desserts.

Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar – Richmond Hill Ratings and Reviews
I had specified it was my mother's 70th birthday and were promised a dessert with candle to mark the occasion. when we got our bill we were charged for the dessert even though we were told we wouldn't be. I realize it was probably a mistake at cash out but we didn't notice until we got home as my father had paid the bill and didn't look at it closely because it was too dark for him in the restaurant.
I have been to the restaurant several times and enjoy going there. I was frustrated with my last visit which was to celebrate a business event. I made the reservation on line and called to confirm that I would have a suitable table. When I arrived, we were placed in a ridiculous location that could barely accommodate 6 never mind the 12 guests I had with me. You could not pull your chair out to sit which had to be obvious with the person setting the table as well as the sevice personnel who were reluctant to do anything. I had to ask for the manager who did find us us another table that was marginally better.
The food and service were very good.
The mozzarella was amazing. We all enjoyed our meal. I had the spaghetti pie. It was a large portion that I didn’t think I could finish. Wrong! A friend had the steak with garlic fries. The steak was cooked the way she likes it. There wasn’t a garlic fry left on her plate.
Our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and very nice.
I would definitely return. Thanks for a great dinner.
We all enjoyed the charity bread and chicken parm bites. We would have liked to have the bread while waiting for our meals to arrive. (it arrived at the same time as the entrees) Our waitress was great, our only mild criticism is she couldn't explain what the "Scaddabush spice" mix(on a pizza) was, and when she looked for clarification from the kitchen, they didn't either. Its not a major deal but if a restaurant makes a "proprietary' spice, it would be good for staff and cooks to know generally what it is. The Limone Chicken & pasta meals were really good. The avocado sandwich was actually absent of any avocado, and basically a disappointing sandwich. the fries were very good. I would not order or recommend any one order a sandwich. That is an area the restaurant could improve. We had an experience with this in the past as well. We did find the overall lunch a bit pricey. It would be nice to include a small salad with the dinners and pastas for the price.
Just as our food arrived a large family group was seated right beside us even though there was a lot of other available seating. For the rest of our visit we were subjected to crying, screeching children who were allowed to run around on their own with no attention from their parents even when the children approached other diners at their tables. Not enjoyable.
Everything was great except for the noise level , not helped by the background music selection.
Our table of 4 was straining, so there would be no hope of hearing with a larger group.
I did ask for a quiet location in my online reservation which I don't think got much consideration.
First time at Scaddabush. We had our girls night out. The food was great, really delicious! Our server was friendly, knowledgable & willing to take as many pics of us as we asked which is always a plus :) Great athmosphere. Def recommend & will visit again!
Even though I had reservations and had requested a larger table, I was given a very small booth table that I could not fit into because I am 6' 4" tall. It was only after the floor manager was alerted to my displeasure that another table was arranged for me. The second table was bigger but was situated right by the front entrance which was very busy and not conducive to a business conversation with my client. The incident was embarrassing for me and my client was not impressed with me nor with your restaurant.
The food was just OK (not as good as Alice Fazooli's- just OK). Slightly overpriced. Serving your mozzarella with acidy tomato sauce is totally odd. Pizza was OK and my simple spaghetti and meatball dish was cold. Sorry, really not impressed.
We had a wonderful evening at the Outdoor café. Although it was a bit cool outside, we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The food was terrific and the waitress was very friendly and accommodating. All in all, a great time to catch up with old friends from out of town!
The atmosphere is high energy however it is difficult to talk with friends since the noise level is very high. Our server was training another server and when it got busier in the evening, we felt like we were forgotten. On the up side of that, it gave us more time to talk. The food is always very good and the selection is also good. Great gluten free options. It is like a regular menu item, not a special item.
Pretty decent place that I have revisited from time to time.
It was Wednesday night and surprisingly there were many people (Seems like company gathering).
Noise level was pretty high, and for some reason the service was pretty slow.
Though other times it was okay, maybe just this single incident.
Pretty good. Typical chain restaurant though and I am not a chain fan (went as part of a work function). The "charity bread" sounds like a great idea but is more oil than bread. My favourite part? The exceptional service from beginning to end and the awesome pizza cutting scissors that accompanied my pizza, I'll be looking to buy something similar for home.
