Appetizers amazing ( mussels), Cesar salad comes with vinaigrette dressing? T-bones where thin and not near 140z, looked store bought, not butcher cut. Sirloin arrived under cooked as did the hamburger. Service was very polite and friendly but very very slow. over 15min from clearing apps to getting mains which came cold. Too be a steak house they really need to improve the meat quality as at those prices you need to be above chain restaurant quality. Mentioned the uneaten under cooked sirloin, yet no deduction from our 500.00 plus bill. Wont be returning anytime soon.
We have loved this restaurant in the past, unfortunately after yesterday, I no longer feel that I can recommend this restaurant as easily as I had. It was good, it is no longer fantastic.
Hello Sb prime
Prime is always my one stop lounge for A special function when I visit Burlington
It's sleek and cool hip and red. & NÚMERO UNO
Loved it. Everything was perfect. Staff was very accomodating and polite. Food was amazing. Would highly recommend to everybody.
They didn't have the prix fixe for lunch but the manager was very accommodating and put together a package for a couple of us who were looking forward to the special.
My husband and I found this place on open table since we are new to Burlington. We are only borderline foodies but we like a good steak and know when it tastes good. And my tenderloin and his rib eye were perfectly grilled medium, despite the thickness of the cut. The appetizer (confit chicken wings for him and onion truffle soup for me) were quite yummy. To top it off, the wait staff was excellent and very attentive. It was a good night out.
Everything about our experience was fantastic. From the table we were given (which was absolutely perfect) to the service and food. It was a perfect night out for my family and really hit the spot when it came to presentation-the restaurant and the food. I wouldn't change a thing about it. We felt very taken care of by our server, Denise, and her helpers that constantly came to our table making sure everything was to our satisfaction. I will definitely be returning and would recommend it to anyone who wants to have a great experience overall. Thank you SB Prime.
This was our first time at SBPrime and we would recommend it to others. We had a wonderful meal with wine. The food was excellant and the service was outstanding.
Excellent attentive service, excellent food, all around a great experience
Fantastic experience! My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner out together.
Food was fantastic, they looked after us very well, I'll definitly go back again
Meal & service very good only complaint beer was warm. Will come back.
service was excellent everyone tried very hard but the food was terrible -- easily the worst steak I ve had in years -- everything was overly salted --- kitchen needs some work we asked for our steak meduim rare it came almost well done and like shoe leather - hard to ruin a nice piece of beef -- could be opening blues but I dont think so food was so fundamentaly flawed that it seems like a chef change is needed .
Although they only have 5 steak cuts/options available on the menu, I found the meal to be great. Everything we ate tasted incredible. It is definetly a special occasion venue. WE sat on the upstairs balcony. Be warned that it is not very quiet. Cars. motorbikes and trucks race up and down Brant Street to show everyone how cool they are. I really didn't mind that, as the view and tmosphere was incredible. The service is great. From the host to the server to the bar staff, they make you feel very welcomed.
The Amuse Bouche is a pleasant surprise. Duck was very good and would definitely order again. Would recommend to anyone looking for a unique place to dine.
Went for the Taste of Burlington and was very disappointed. This should be an event where a restaurant showcases their food- we were disappointed with the experience. The bone marrow was interesting- but too salty, the calamari was overcooked/rubbery. The salmon was overcooked and the risotto bland and cold. The flank steak was chewy and inedible. the dessert of meringue and fruit was a disappointment-the meringue was overcooked and crunchy. The strawberries served with it were overripe and mushy. We would not recommend, nor go back again. Could have spent $200 better elsewhere. The only redeeming quality was the waitress -friendly but didn't offer coffee or tea at the end of the meal.
Our daughters took us there Saturday night for Father's Day dinner. Service was awful. Not the waitresses fault, she kept coming back and telling us our food would be up soon. My daughters dinner came ice cold and when we told the waitress she took it off our bill but my daughters food was still ice cold. We waited so long for our food that we had bought 2 bottles of wine and finished them and the waitress brought us a complimentary 3rd bottle. I felt so bad for my kids who spent a lot of money for a really bad experience.
I love steakhouses and have been to dozens across the world, so I was amused by the unusually small portions of meat described on the menu - 8 and 10 ozs; a steak for "two" was 16 ozs. I commented mildly on the small sizes and the waiter seemed taken aback and said absurdly that they were standard sizes. Service after that was inattentive and unpolished. Plates were not given while the bread was served, so I had to constantly be anxious about placing my butter laden knife directly on the table. Wines were on the menu that were no longer available. The kitchen mixed up the cooking instructions for my and my wife's steak. The appetizers were cold and the steaks were acceptable but no more than this.
We visited on a Tuesday evening which may explain why the restaurant was not very busy, but we benefitted by having not just one but two very friendly and capable servers. Jeff was helpful with the wine selection and also offered some good advise regarding one our parties steak orders and Paul was quick to bring some extra "palate cleanser" when he noticed one of our group was really enjoying it. Contrary to a couple of negative reviews we saw regarding the "doneness" of steaks and the texture of the creme brule we all agreed that the food was excellent as was the service. We'll be back.
This was our first visit to SB Prime (the mothers day brunch. We felt the food was overpriced for the quality and quantity. The quiche was very small and the plate was covered in salad, and was not worth the money. The eggs benedict was ok; decent quantity but the hollandaise sauce had very little flavour. We brought our daughter who is 2, and there was nothing she could eat. The waitress did not offer any alternatives for her, which I have had servers do in other restaurants that did not offer a kids menu. We found it strange that the dessert and pastries were served to us before our meal, but were not told that it was both. We were seated alone upstairs, which we found somewhat odd. Free mimosa was the only good part.
Mother's Day brunch was fabulous!!! Great Quiche
The place was a nice find. The only complaint was that the waitress was a little pushy. And at the end of the night messed up the bill. Beond that everything was good we had a good time and food was good
Food and service were excellent. This was a Birthday dinner for my wife and we took our 2 young children. The staff were very friendly and responsive. The kids and my wife loved the service and ambiance. Food was excellent and attention to detail was noted.
It would be good if the Caesar salad was prepared like an actual Caesar salad. There was not much flavour to it. I know it's supposed to look gourmet-ish, but it would be worth the money if it was a real Caesar salad.
I have been to Prime on a few occasions - previously have gone out with a group of girls for cocktails, martinis and munchies. We have a FABULOUS night out every time we go! This night I went to Prime for dinner and had the most amazing evening. We were greeted by the hostess, there was a live musician playing, and the menu is so great (EXCEPT I can't believe the Prime Rib is no longer on the menu because I rave about it!), the atmosphere is very chill but cozy at the same time. I had the tenderloin and split a few sides. I also enjoyed a really great glass of wine after dinner to cap off the evening :) My boyfriend mentioned that his steak was the best he's ever had in Burlington! I can't say enough great things about this place!
Totally enjoyed the food, the service and the live entertainment. Definitely will return again
The food and service was excellent. Our server took us through a tour of the menu and recommended some wonderful dishes.
The night we went it was very quiet with only 3 tables occupied. The food was wonderful, nicely platted/presented and medium-rare was medium-rare. It was the OpenTable reservation that messed things up. We booked on-line and requests 6pm. It came back with 5:30 or 6:30. We had to select 5:30. Upon arrival, the restaurant was empty (2-3 tables) This OpenTable selection reduced our party of 6 to a party of 3. 3 guests finished work at 5pm and would not be able to make the 5:30 reservation and the other 3 finished at 4:30 and were unable to wait until 6:30 (hence the 6PM request. The 6PM was definitely available.
This steak house gives Ruth Chris a run for it's money. Yes the prices are on the high side but you get excellent quality food that leaves you feeling very staisfied. Well worth the price. We will definately be returning. No more need to travel to Ruth Chris when we want an excellent piece of beef.
They completly miss the mark with food quality, they are called Prime, they should serve Prime. The food was under cooked, tough, and covered with what tasted like powdered sauce. Food was very saucy. The one thing that topped it off for all of us was the very poor quality coffee. It was very noticable that they purchase based on price and not quality.
The ambiance of this place was very nice, we were sat at a table in a windowed alcove overlooking Brant street which was pretty cool.
The food.....the food was simply fantastic. For starters I got to try the ricotta gnocci(awesome) The carpaccio(super), and the grilled calamari(scrumptious) For an entree I had the bison which was cooked to perfection and the jus was delicious. The other 4 guests had steaks, duck, and rack of lamb. I got to try a sample of the duck and the steak which were both amazing and the rack of lamb looked and smelled great. For sides I was able to try the wild mushrooms, brussel sprouts, potato gratin, squash, and the risotto. All were delicious.
Looking forward to our next visit so we can try the rest!
Great food and presentation. Outstanding service and warm ambience.
Food was good. Portions small for price. Recent Taste-of-Burlington prix fix menu is a good value. Atmosphere is pretty open and bar lounge next to dining can get pretty noisy after 9:30pm on weekends. There is an outdoor patio on the roof overlooking the mainstreet which is nice in the summer months but fills up fast.
I would definitely recommend SB Prime to friends: very good service, delicious food and delightful atmosphere. Thank you!!!
We were meeting up with a group from Ottawa on Saturday night..which was unexpected..our numbers jumped from 4 to 7 that night and you kindly were able to accommodate us...thank you so much...we really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back...the food was very flavourful just the right touch of herbs..also great presentation... Sorbets also nice touch... We enjoyed the taste of burlington menu immensely...!!
Dinner on Friday night was excellent. SB Prime is very stylish and for some reason we managed to get the best table in the house, a large booth (could have sat 6-8 and there were only 3 of us) the service was impeccible, however it wasn't very busy for a Friday night, so I'm wondering if its more of a bar after 11pm...there is lots of space around the bar area, and it has a very loungey feel. The food was amazing however I ordered the grilled scallops and was a little dissapointed. The flavours were amazing, however the scallops were tiny. Plus I recieved no vegetables, although it stated on the menu that I would recieve "Citrus Braised Endives..." none were located. :) but all in all I would recommend and try again.
The food was very tasty and beautifully presented. A nice place for a leisurely lunch or business meeting when you have more than 1 hour to spend.
My husband and I had an outstanding dinner at SB Prime a few nights ago. All of the food tasted fantastic, the service was excellent and the quality of the food was very good. We particularly enjoyed the complimentary amuse bouche and the lemoncello sorbet shooter that came after our appetizer. The wine list was great - not super expensive which was appreciated! Overall we found the food to be decently priced for the value received. We will be back.
The food was excellent: we loved everything that we ate. However, both of the choices I would have originally made off the prix fixe menu were unavailable and nothing was added in their place, which I thought was unfortunate.
The service was laughably poor - our waiter seemed to either have a hangover or maybe was high.
I have eaten at Prime several times over the last 2 years and the food has always been superb...this time however the service was absolutely awful. The waitress must have forgotten we were even there...4 guests and overall poor service. 20 minutes for a glass of wine to be served, offer of pepper and then she never showed up, brought us dessert and never offered us coffee. Never once checked on us to see how things were.
