Sazón is owned and operated by Jose and Manny Navarro. We are the only authentic, and highest reviewed Peruvian Restaurant north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Sazón serves up a variety of appetizers, ceviches, soups and salads, vegetarian plates, sandwiches and classic meals.
Our family is originally from Lima, where authentic Peruvian recipes were passed down by our great-grandmother, Maria Olinda, who herself came from Peruvian, African, Spanish and Italian ancestry. Peruvian cuisine fuses different periods from the South American country's history, from the ancient Inca empire through the Spanish conquest, which brought in slaves from Africa and China; further influences came from Italian and Japanese immigrants, blending indigenous foods of Peru and cooking methods of four continents into a unique taste

We were a little disappointed with our visit, however, the grandkids enjoyed their meal. Some items were tasty, others were bland. A corn dog for a child’s meal at $7? Other prices seemed high also. Not much ambiance, and when a guy came in and started to paint a wall I was surprised. Service was good and helpful. I’m not sure I will return.
Great spot! Great food. The service was awesome, food arrived in a timely manner.
This was our first time to this restaurant. There are two doors into the restaurant: one of the doors had a deli sign above it and the other did not. So we went into the non-deli side. It was reminiscent of a little taqueria with just a few tables. After telling the "hostess" that we had a reservation for 4, she directed us to a table without asking the name of our party. I thought that was a little odd. But as our meal progressed, we realized there was a door into leading into another dining room that was much nicer with more comfortable chairs. Had we followed the deli sign, we would have been in that section. However, the food will not draw me back, comfy chairs or no. The pork stew was delicious, the fish was ok, the roast chicken was good.
Best meal in Santa Rosa
Delicious food, excellent portion sizes. Friendly customer service. Wine and beer only.
I go to Sazon on a regular basis and the food is always amazing and the staff is lovely.
Outstanding. Wonderful family owned restaurant. Cerviche Mixto the best. One of my favorites in Santa Rosa.
Seafood dishes were fresh and prepared with flavorful sauces. Service struggled a bit. Great ambiance.
Delicious, exotic flavors.Fantastic beef empanadas, superb ahi ceviche, and tasty shrimp soup. Chicha morada isgreat.
Third time here, and they have expanded dining area. Service and menu are still very good if you like to try something different to a Mexican.
Amazingly well done Peruvian, complete with Inca Cola!
Hadn't been there for years. Changes included no table "corn" snack and greatly elevated prices for small portions. Good was fabulous.
I went to Sazon for the first time this past weekend with three friends. The food at Sazon was phenomenal! The seafood was so fresh. Authentic Peruvian recipes. Jose (the owner) and our waitstaff Oscar treated us so well! While I live 1.5 hrs away, I'm already planning my next visit!
Yum!!! Food was so tasty! Service was not very good - food took a LONG time, they brought out the dessert menu before our dinner had been served, and we were rarely checked on. The tastiness of the food helped us overlook the poor service, though.
Sazon is always good. Delicious food, reasonable prices, friendly service. Nice to have something like this in Santa Rosa.
Went there for Sonoma Restaurant week and had a good, authentic Peruvian dinner. The coconut shrimp appetizer was excellent and everything else was very good.
We ventured here with good friends to kick off Sonoma
County Restaurant Week. We had excellent choices for VERY reasonable prices and were able to enjoy ethnic cuisine that was both tasty and reasonable. The brews from Peru were a hit with the fellas too! Wonderful, friendly service
Our servers were excellent and so was the food. This was Restaurant Week, so the price for lunch was excellent too.
Sazon has expanded into the space next door (I think it was a deli in its former life). We sat in the original restaurant, but I’m so happy that the restaurant has been able to add footage—obviously a tribute to their great food and loyal following.
It was EXCELLENT! Highly recommend it. Food was amazing, flavorful and beautifully presented. Staff was delightful.
I will be back soon. 5 star all the way.
Great food, friendly service, reasonably priced. If you have not tried genuine Peruvian food this is the place to go. The food is wonderfully spicy and flavorful. The owner is warm and welcoming.
Very innovative and flavorful dishes. Busy but service was attentive. Highly recommend
The credit card statement shows $25 more than was signed for! The check was split between two parties so possible that people have signed wrong checks too. Will investigate and update review accordingly.
Great food, friendly service, nice place. Great for a date.
Everytime I go to this establishment, I order something different. I've had no regrets thus far. The lomo saltado and carnitas are absolutely devine. Try a sazon cooler while you're at it. Everything from this place tastes fresh, light, and delicious
Though I have eaten at Sazon 5 times before, this time was a supreme disappointment. Our 6:30 pm reservation got us a table at 7:30 pm - and not a well placed table at that. I had the Peruvian sea food stew which was awful. The shrimps tasted like they were frozen and old, the one part of a crab claw looked very old with almost no meat and what was there was tough and years from fresh. What precious little else was in the bowl was in too small a quantity to evaluate. Yes, the dish was so very small that I had to get something to eat when I left. And that was $26! The service was slow and the waiters were unattentive. I think Sazon's popularity has launched it on a serious downward slope. I do not recommend Sazon and I will not eat there again.
Flat out amazing. Service and food were far beyond our expectations. Can’t wait to go back!
Due to the high quality ingredients here the food is better than in Lima, Peru. The owner, Jose, has increased the size by obtaining the room adjacent. He did a nice job in remodeling. Our time there on Wednesday was a very busy evening. It needed an additional wait staff member. The owner needed roller skates he was so busy. It caused us to have long waits. However, the food was excellent and plated with style.
We have been going since they opened. The food is excellent and consistent. Highly recommended
Amazing food and great service. They added a room so the ambience is better. Terrific cerviche. My favorite is the paella. Love this place!
We just love Sazon! The BEST ceviches on the planet. They've expanded seating into the next room so it's not so cramped, but we like sitting up by the bar to watch the poetry in motion in the kitchen.
I enjoy all the Peruvian choices and the service is always tops!
I have eaten in Peru and at the Peninsula and SF Peruvian places. This is simply the best Peruvian food I have had! Amazing! And great value ad great service.
We love Sazon. The food is superb. It is not the most quiet, romantic atmosphere, but we enjoy the character of the place a great deal. We went for my birthday and I was treated like royalty. They gave me a complimentary Pisco Sour and a delicious dessert. We had traditional Peruvian cuisine, which took us back to a trip we made to Peru a year and a half ago. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who is interested in trying authentic Peruvian food. You're in for a real treat.
We haven't been in since they remodeled. They took over the entire building, adding a deli that is also additional seating for the restaurant. Cozy decor. Great service from several people, they all work together to make sure you're happy. We were! Great food, great wine list, great service. We'll definitely be back!
Amazing people, incredible food!
Thank you, Gumer, for creating our special meal this evening. We consider all of you as our friends and we are so grateful to have found Sazon!
Seven GalPals had a celebratory dinner at Sazon and had a fabulous time. 5 were new comers to the restaurant and LOVED it! Jose, you have some new customers! Thanks for the friendly service and wonderful ceviche and main courses!
We were a party of 6. My dinner came out first before the other 5. I waited a bit, then slowly started eating my dinner. I was done before the other 5 in our party were served. My portion was small but absolutely delicious! I could have eaten a meal twice the size, and my husband and I split an appetizer first. As much as I loved my meal, I would not order it again, as I went home hungry :(
Food was a bit better than average but service was slow and atmosphere was horrible. The seating was uncomfortable, room way too cold and pretty ugly. I would only go back if they did a remodel of the dining room.
One of my favorite restaurants in Santa Rosa! Love the sangria and the seafood corn chowder. Have ordered many options off the menu and have never been disappointed.
Always popular, always great. Also just learned that there is no corkage on Sonoma County wines!! Who knew??
