Sazón is owned and operated by Jose and Manny Navarro. We are the only authentic, and highest reviewed Peruvian Restaurant north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Sazón serves up a variety of appetizers, ceviches, soups and salads, vegetarian plates, sandwiches and classic meals.
Our family is originally from Lima, where authentic Peruvian recipes were passed down by our great-grandmother, Maria Olinda, who herself came from Peruvian, African, Spanish and Italian ancestry. Peruvian cuisine fuses different periods from the South American country's history, from the ancient Inca empire through the Spanish conquest, which brought in slaves from Africa and China; further influences came from Italian and Japanese immigrants, blending indigenous foods of Peru and cooking methods of four continents into a unique taste

Great food, friendly service, nice place. Great for a date.
Everytime I go to this establishment, I order something different. I've had no regrets thus far. The lomo saltado and carnitas are absolutely devine. Try a sazon cooler while you're at it. Everything from this place tastes fresh, light, and delicious
Though I have eaten at Sazon 5 times before, this time was a supreme disappointment. Our 6:30 pm reservation got us a table at 7:30 pm - and not a well placed table at that. I had the Peruvian sea food stew which was awful. The shrimps tasted like they were frozen and old, the one part of a crab claw looked very old with almost no meat and what was there was tough and years from fresh. What precious little else was in the bowl was in too small a quantity to evaluate. Yes, the dish was so very small that I had to get something to eat when I left. And that was $26! The service was slow and the waiters were unattentive. I think Sazon's popularity has launched it on a serious downward slope. I do not recommend Sazon and I will not eat there again.
Flat out amazing. Service and food were far beyond our expectations. Can’t wait to go back!
Due to the high quality ingredients here the food is better than in Lima, Peru. The owner, Jose, has increased the size by obtaining the room adjacent. He did a nice job in remodeling. Our time there on Wednesday was a very busy evening. It needed an additional wait staff member. The owner needed roller skates he was so busy. It caused us to have long waits. However, the food was excellent and plated with style.
We have been going since they opened. The food is excellent and consistent. Highly recommended
Amazing food and great service. They added a room so the ambience is better. Terrific cerviche. My favorite is the paella. Love this place!
We just love Sazon! The BEST ceviches on the planet. They've expanded seating into the next room so it's not so cramped, but we like sitting up by the bar to watch the poetry in motion in the kitchen.
I enjoy all the Peruvian choices and the service is always tops!
I have eaten in Peru and at the Peninsula and SF Peruvian places. This is simply the best Peruvian food I have had! Amazing! And great value ad great service.
We love Sazon. The food is superb. It is not the most quiet, romantic atmosphere, but we enjoy the character of the place a great deal. We went for my birthday and I was treated like royalty. They gave me a complimentary Pisco Sour and a delicious dessert. We had traditional Peruvian cuisine, which took us back to a trip we made to Peru a year and a half ago. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who is interested in trying authentic Peruvian food. You're in for a real treat.
We haven't been in since they remodeled. They took over the entire building, adding a deli that is also additional seating for the restaurant. Cozy decor. Great service from several people, they all work together to make sure you're happy. We were! Great food, great wine list, great service. We'll definitely be back!
Amazing people, incredible food!
Thank you, Gumer, for creating our special meal this evening. We consider all of you as our friends and we are so grateful to have found Sazon!
Seven GalPals had a celebratory dinner at Sazon and had a fabulous time. 5 were new comers to the restaurant and LOVED it! Jose, you have some new customers! Thanks for the friendly service and wonderful ceviche and main courses!
We were a party of 6. My dinner came out first before the other 5. I waited a bit, then slowly started eating my dinner. I was done before the other 5 in our party were served. My portion was small but absolutely delicious! I could have eaten a meal twice the size, and my husband and I split an appetizer first. As much as I loved my meal, I would not order it again, as I went home hungry :(
Food was a bit better than average but service was slow and atmosphere was horrible. The seating was uncomfortable, room way too cold and pretty ugly. I would only go back if they did a remodel of the dining room.
One of my favorite restaurants in Santa Rosa! Love the sangria and the seafood corn chowder. Have ordered many options off the menu and have never been disappointed.
Always popular, always great. Also just learned that there is no corkage on Sonoma County wines!! Who knew??
Upscale presentations of ethnic classics. Beef Heart skewers were amazing, delicately seasoned and tender. Must try the classic Pisco Sour cocktail, and our server suggested a very odd sounding pisco cocktail which is made with leche de tigre... take a chance, serioiusly, one of the most amazing flavors ever! Huge selection of ceviches... I think 6 or 8 different ones on the menu. We will be back, gonna take many visits to work through this amazing menu!
Food was good, not great. Very pricey given moderate food quality and poor ambiance. We were seated in the expanded area by the deli which is a very big cavernous space - doesn't feel like a restaurant at all. Service was spotty - not proactive with water refills, etc. They added an automatic gratuity of 20% for a group of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids). I would have probably tipped that amount anyway, but thought it was very strange since server didn't mention it and we don't usually see auto-gratuity unless it's a bigger group (8+). Glad my wife noticed it as I was about to add 20% to the total that already included the gratuity. Overall, dinner was fine. But for $200 for our family of 5, there are much better options in the area. We won't be back.
Good food. Good Service. Will definitely go back when in town.
As always, great food, owner is great, ceviche amazing.
A simple, casual restaurant in a well-kept but ungentrified suburban neighborhood. Famed for their ceviche, the amount of seafood is generous with very little filler. These are true ceviches with the seafood 'cooked' by citrus acid, not the aguachile style. Nice little empanadas are tasty although we found the beef a bit too sweet; liked the chicken better. Cheerful, friendly service. An outstanding value restaurant for seafood lovers.
Great food, service and very welcoming atmosphere. -1
Sazon was an unexpected delight. The menu was unique and creative. The many varieties of cerviche make a great first course. The main dishes were all delicious as were desserts. Service was timely despite a very crowded restaurant. The feel of the place was positive and uplifting. Definitely a go to spot. Reservations recommended.
We've been to Sazon countless times and we are impressed each visit. One item on my "bucket list" is to make it through their entire menu. I've not succeeded yet, but I intend to make the required effort.
The tiny location appears ready to expand. This will enable more people to experience this delightful and amazing cuisine.
Service is amazing and food is even better! I would go back in a heart beat!
Sazon is a small, local neighborhood Peruvian Restaurant with excellent authentic Peruvian fare. The seafood stews and ceviches make you feel like you are dining in a foreign country. Everything is fresh, prepared to order and comes with an ingredient and preparation explanation from your server. We love to bring out of town guests to experience Sazon. I would recommend reservations as the small space fills quickly. It is on my "favorite" list.
Haven't been here in over a year but little has changed. The food is excellent. I'm a big fan of causa limena and there's is as pretty as it is delicious. Service is always good and the attention to detail makes this small space seem large in the food world. Peruvian specialties.
The host was very helpful with helping us choose our meals, and even got us dessert for our anniversary. I would exogenous this spot to anyone.
