About
Sazón is owned and operated by Jose and Manny Navarro. We are the only authentic, and highest reviewed Peruvian Restaurant north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Sazón serves up a variety of appetizers, ceviches, soups and salads, vegetarian plates, sandwiches and classic meals.
Our family is originally from Lima, where authentic Peruvian recipes were passed down by our great-grandmother, Maria Olinda, who herself came from Peruvian, African, Spanish and Italian ancestry. Peruvian cuisine fuses different periods from the South American country's history, from the ancient Inca empire through the Spanish conquest, which brought in slaves from Africa and China; further influences came from Italian and Japanese immigrants, blending indigenous foods of Peru and cooking methods of four continents into a unique taste

The restaurant is a deli and has the feel of it, not upscale at all. The menu was good, but they were already out of a few things at 6:30 pm. We ordered and our appetizers came promptly and were good. Once we ordered our entrees, they came out at all different times and they completely forgot one of them! They remade it, but by then the rest of the table was done eating. It was an unfortunate experience. Will not be going back.
We are peruvian and we’re spending a weekend in wine country, the food was a bit disappointing particularly because of the price, we ordered ceviche, arroz con mariscos and picante de mariscos, ceviche was ok, maybe way too sour and a bit short on flavor, didn’t taste the arroz con mariscos, but the picante was nothing like the original dish, it was more like a chupe and not a picante, then requested rice as a side for 4dollars!!! All in all, not a very good experience. oh the anticucho was ok, maybe a bit much vinegar...
I adored Sazon. Everything about the experience was A1. The food was flavorful, delicious, definitely worthy of mention. The ceviche is quite authentically Peruvian, and done just right! The brilliant food, coupled with exceptional service and a friendly atmosphere, makes Sazon worthy of five stars. I thoroughly enjoyed Sazon and can't wait to visit again!
Dinner was amazing as always. I have never been let down by Sazon. Their ceviche and empanadas are to die for.
Food was absolutely delicious. Can eat here every day
Unbelievable meal!!! The staff is amazing! The owner Jose and Chef have created an amazing place with the finest Peruvian cuisine I’ve ever had, and I’ve had it quite often. If you find yourself in wine country or just within 50 miles of Sazón, it is worth the trip. I will be back whenever I can.
First time eating here. Sazon has an interesting menu although we were surprised and disappointed they use tilapia in their ceviche. Service was good and our food was delicious, very moderate portions
Sazon is a gem! Wonderfully prepared, very authentic Peruvian cuisine with a delightful owner. Highly recommend!
Great family restaurant with very friendly staff. The small front room has more charm than the large room next to it, but you'll get good food and services regardless. Don't miss their Pisco Sours!
Great food, good selection of entrees, very friendly and good natured staff
We love this local Peruvian restaurant and have always loved our meals here.
Food was fresh unique and tasted great. Great for casual lunch or dinner with friends.
Some fantastic food.
Great sangria on a hot summer evening. Service could not have been better. The chairs, which are made of old wine barrels were fun but not very comfortable. A small thing in a good dinner, but, I was ready to get up and move! Consistently good.
Wonderful food and great service. We enjoyed the ceviche and all of the appetizers.
The fish here is fabulous. I wake up the next morning craving what I had the night before. Perfect when the weather is warm and you want cool food. They have about 7 kinds of yummy ceviche and fabulous salads with crab, shrimp, avocado and other goodness.
Great service
The food was fantastic and authentic based on my trip to Peru (Cusco and Lima) last summer. The atmosphere is very casual and excellent service.
our food was very salty, unable to eat, ceviche was so acidic, unable to eat
Amazing food, great service. Our first Peruvian experience and the wait staff and hostess were both great in providing suggestions and helping along decisions.
New York City ambience combined with excellent service, food and atmosphere makes this my favorite new find. I love it here.
Wonderful meal!
First time there. Delicious food. Kid friendly. Comfortable experience
wonderful food/service. Our waiter was the best and provided us with great descriptions of our meal choices.
A new favorite restaurant for us! The servers were so friendly and helpful with questions, as this was our first Peruvian experience. The food was artfully presented (wish I had my camera phone with me) and the tastes were uniquely delectable. I had the Palta Rellena appetizer (1/2 avocado stuffed with dungeness crab and shrimp salad) and the Ensalada Camaron (shrimp green salad) and both were excellent. My husband had the Aji de Gallina (pulled chicken stew) and he gave it his thumbs up. We both can't wait to go back!
Sazon is one of our all time favorites. We always take out-of-town guests there and they invariably love it. Saturday night was no exception. The cerviche was excellent - fresh and tasty. The Lomo Saldato was really good - love the fries and sauce with it. We had appetizers and plantains and couldn't have been happier. Too full for dessert but that is always special, especially the ice cream.
Sazon is a very nice neighborhood restaurant. The food is authentic Peruvian. Easy parking in the back of the building if the front is full. So far as I know, it's the only Peruvian eatery in the county. We've been to Peru a few times, and it's consistent with the food there -- which we love.
Really tasty food and great service. So many ceviche's to choose from. The wait staff is very knowledgeable and the corkage for Sonoma wines is only $10!!! We were seated in the deli area so it was very casual and didn't have air conditioning, although it wasn't too warm. The food was outstanding and the service was really great so that made up for it. Will definitely be back her and hopefully sit in the main dining area.
Sazon was such a gem! I’m so happy I heard about this place before our trip to Santa Rosa. It truly is a “hole in the wall”, meaning the location and ambiance is low key and unassuming. The food, however, looks like something you’d see at a fancy, trendy restaurant. The dishes are beautiful and the ingredients are fresh. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Please go and give it a shot. The owner was there and very friendly! Go support his labor of love and enjoy his magnificent food. We had the halibut ceviche, which was so interesting and fresh! I had the ahi tuna salad and my boyfriend had the chicken stew. We finished with a special for dessert, the mango cheesecake. Please please go and check it out!
We were disappointed. Have been to many Peruvian restaurants and this doesn’t come close. We went because of the yelp reviews and I believe others did too. The food is ok but overpriced for the quality of the food, ambience and service.
Really good food, especially the arroz con mariscos! Can’t wait to go back!
I’d heard great things about this place and it exceeded my expectations. I went early for dinner because I know it scan get crowded quickly.
We had:
Sangria Roja. Not to sweet which is how it should be!
Chicken empanadas. Small, but perfectly prepared! I’d like to try to beef and pork ones next time.
Halibut ceviche - yummy!!! Bright citrus notes
Salmon entree on special - perfectly cooked salmon!!
Excited to go again soon!
Superb appetizers with great service.
Yummy food, particularly the various ceviche dishes they offer. Love sweet plantains for dessert!
Our party of five enjoyed ceviches and empanadas for appetizers, then fabulous main courses. The paella was excellent, with an assortment of fish. The traditional Peruvian dishes are so flavorful, we shared everything to enjoy the variety. Only disappointment was not having the cannoli available for dessert, but the ice cream was very nice. Tip was included and with drinks and sangria it was very reasonable. Highly recommended!
If we lived I. The area we would eat here all of the time!
This is one of the best restaurants in Sonoma County. Shhh.
Always a great place to eat the food is spectacular. Highly recommended A+
The food was fabulous. We started with ceviche mixto (which I had craving for the next day). Followed with ling cod in a light tomato sauce with other seafood on top, rice on the side. Wine❤️ Service outstanding. Very accommodating for allergies or spice issues. This is the 3rd or 4th time I have dined at Sazon. Never been disappointed.
This is a cute little Peruvian spot. Great food fast service
