Such a wonderful meal! Everything was delicious.
Wonderful restaurant - warm atmosphere, creative food, excellent service - worth going out of your way for.
Superb in every respect. Our new favorite restaurant in Santa Fe. We salute Chef Olea!!!
This was one of the best meals we had in Santa Fe. The service was impeccable. You have to try a tequila flight.
This is not your "American" Mexican restaurant (love those too). Sazon would very definitely fit right in with Mexico City's best restaurants in Polanco or Roma districts. Every dish we tried was superb. My husband had the grasshoppers and I the pork belly tacos with cocktails in the cozy bar. The lady bartender was skillful in her execution of the delicious mescal concoctions; loved 'em. On to the dining room. The decor is very chic and again cozy in the purest Santa Fe sense. Truly seductive. Soup of the day, tasty. The entrees: Coyoacan for me, sea bass in the anniversary mole for my husband. Were both delectable. Great wine. It was my birthday and they provided chocolate cake. The Mexico City coffee was really yummy. Service friendly and impeccable. Overall a very special place.
One of the most enjoyable dining experiences, ever, period. The food, the service, the ambiance was incredible. Wishing we would have dined here the first night in Santa Fe because we would have returned again and again. Do not miss this experience.
The chef is a wizard with flavors and textures. They begin by bringing you a sampler of their molés with some mini-corn tortillas, to inform your choices as well as pique your appetite. The signature soup of a puree of poblano pepper, lump crab, and cinnamon foam was superb. We took the recommendations of the mole verde with the duck breast, and the New Mexican mole with the lamb chops, and both were exquisite. Just the right touch of heat, and combinations of sweet/savory/creamy & crunchy textures. We couldn't resist the chef's dessert, which is a surprise - and I won't spoil it for you, but it was well worth it. One of our best meals ever!
Very Creative! Chile Rellano and Grasshopper Tacos

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Fe. Fernando is a good friend and we've enjoyed every venture he has developed in Santa Fe. A true restaurantour. Santa Fe is lucky to have him.
As brilliant as its reputation would indicate, this is one of the finest restaurants in the country. Everything was spectacular. We wish we had time for dessert. Going back in a few weeks and can't wait!
If you like mole or want to try mole this is a wonderful place. One of the best restaurants in Santa Fe!
Very hearty staff and environment. Felt very well taken care of. Spectacular mole presentation. Chef is a sweetheart in cowboy hat and boots. One of the best meals we have had anywhere.
Fantastic food. I agree with the many prior reviews that the restaurant is an excellent night out.
Service was excellent, food inventive and delicious! Chef Fernando was kind enough to chat with the various tables. Great evening out!
The food was fantastic! The soup (Chef’s special) was really really good.
Sazon was recommended by a friend. With so many amazing restaurants in Santa Fe we had high expectations. Unfortunately, while pleasant we can’t put this in the list of great Santa Fe restaurants. The mole starters were enjoyable but the tuna appetizer was too chopped and mushy, the pork main was overcooked and took forever to come out. The space and ambiance were nice but they missed the mark for overall excellence by a large margin.
Gourmet Mexican, intimate, friendly setting. Chef walks around asking how you are doing. Question: who is he? How about an intro, like "hi, I'm....etc. Quite expensive but food is exceptional. A bit too chaotic, plenty of service but not well organized.
Very fun to sample moles before picking one for your meal. I had sea bass that was delicious..and a huge portion. On the other had my $22/glass wine was not the most generous pour. We sat near a wonderful kiva and had a great night overall.
It's an expensive restaurant. But for a special occassion it's well worth it.
Stunning in all aspects; one of the most imaginative restaurants in Santa Fe, or for that matter, all of New Mexico. Service, food, ambiance...first class. Over several visits, we've never ordered the same thing twice, each time delighting in new and creative dishes. What a gift to diners and what magic is being spun at this astounding restaurant.
Overall the service is quite good. I’ve been several times, not sure why this time the manager did not come by the table to discuss the wine selection, especially after I asked the server to have him stop by. Little things, but they make a big impression sometimes.
The best dinner in sante fe, amazing mole and chili relleno, the chefs crab soup with amaretto cream is a must! Excellent service a perfect night!
Sazon is perhaps our favorite upscale dining in Santa Fe. The service is impeccable. The servers choreograph the placement of each course, so that the plates are set down together for each guest. Really lovely. The food is creative and the Chef has crafted the dimensions of flavor to perfection. We also really enjoy that Chef Fernando Olea visits each table and takes the time to make certain each guest is enjoying their experience at Sazon! This restaurant gets top marks! If this restaurant is too pricey for a special occasion, be sure to visit during Restaurant week, when there is a price fix!
Loved the mole sampler...
Feast for the sense!
Delightful, deliciosisimo, d-best! Took uber chic son for his birthday and he loved it! Chef personally greeted us, servers were so gracious- I want to try everything on the menu! Try the huitlacoche and chapulines appetizers.
Extraordinary experience from the second we walked in. The hostesses were so friendly and the chef immediately came to welcome us. Francisco, the manager, spent so much time with us and made sure my mother’s birthday dinner was top notch. We felt like family! The food was exquisite-so flavorful and creative. Everything was executed with perfection. The space is gorgeous with a Frida Kahlo theme. We cannot wait to visit Santa Fe again and take the rest of our family here for dinner. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I can not recommend this restaurant enough.
Great meal. We had a nice conversation with the Chef and he insisted on providing a complimentary tasting of the signature soup.
Great dining experience!
Great service, great food! Wonderful atmosphere.
Can't say enough about our experience. Every aspect was phenomenal: service, atmosphere, food, drinks. You start off by sampling 6 variations of mole, by dipping tiny handmade tortillas. Each course was excellent. We'll definitely return.
On a Restaurant Week Saturday night Sazon was packed with other happy dinners. From the mole sampler, to the bean soup to the splendid bavarian cream and berries dessert, to the choreographed service, it was the perfect birthday surge.
The service is amazing and the food is some of the best I have had. We make sure we eat here every time we are in Santa Fe.
This is an expensive restaurant but worth every penny of it. The atmosphere is romantic, warm, and very beautiful. You want to linger on and on and the wait staff makes you feel like that is ok. The food is splendid. Chef Fernando is one of the most creative chefs anywhere. He has been in the restaurant business for many years and each of his restaurants had his magic creative touch but this one is the pinnacle of a long successful career. The wait staff has been well trained. They are present and not hovering. Once you have dinned here you will want to return again and again.
The food was excellent and the service was better. Be adventurous and try a dish with one of the chef's special moles. The one little problem with my wife's salad was corrected by the manager promptly and professionally. The chef even followed up with us. This is our new special event location. It's so nice to find a restaurant that prepares food that you can't easily do yourself at home. A bit pricy, but well worth it for a special event.
We went for restaurant week and was extremely disappointed. The salad was warm, tasteless and wilty.
The main course was bland and mushy.
I have had a great meal here. I will never go for restaurant week again but will go to order from the regular menu.
Our waitress was very attentive.
Most deserving of its top ratings in Santa Fe! A beautiful space with very good service and great food! Well worth the not insubstantial price...perfect for business dinners or special occasions. The various types of mole - the house speciality - are incredible. An interesting menu, a great wine list...what more can you ask for? Very highly recommended!!
Excellent cuisine and service. Chef's sophisticated flavors and exquisite presentation are a feast for the palate and the eyes. Vibrant ambiance with all the art. Very pricy. So good choice for a special occasion.
Love it. Real Mexican food. I went there for the mole and was not disappointed.
Wonderful meal. Perfect service. It was our first time there and we choose Sazon for Restaurant Week . We will definitely be back to try the bar and the private dining room in the future.
We came during Restaurant Week for the first time and already have plans to revisit. The food was amazing,if not a bit rich; the bar and drinks were great; the ambiance was both cozy and fun with artwork; and the service was excellent. We are thrilled to have tried and really enjoyed this restaurant.
