Nothing evokes the mystery of Mexican cuisine more than mole, a sauce of complex flavors that usually includes toasted and ground spices, seeds, nuts, chocolate and chile. Many mole recipes contain more than thirty ingredients and some recipes have five varieties of chile alone. Chef Olea is delighted to share his moles that include his "New Mexican Mole" that he created to commemorate Santa Fe’s 400 year anniversary in 2009. The large mural in the main dining room, was painted and presented to Chef Olea by Federico Leon De La Vega, a well- known artist from Mexico City.

Beautiful outdoor space with well separated tables. Lovely attentive service. Delicious moles and squash blossoms in particular. Excellent mezcal cocktail.
Great food and drinks. Everything we ordered was top-notch. Loved the mole with duck breast and the chef's innovative version of chile nogada was the best we've ever had. Shrimp appetizer was also outstanding. The staff did a great job with Covid precautions and we felt very safe and comfortable eating on the terrace. All in all a wonderful evening.
This restaurant really has it all. Beautiful art and music that enhances the ambience, servers who are very well trained and are excellent, and the food is consistently excellent. They have gone out of their way with COVID changes to make diners feel secure. Air cleaners help circulate air, gloves and masks on all staff, plexiglass and hand sanitizer upon entering. Excellent experience.
Probably the best meal any of us ever had! The attention to detail was incredible. Simply delicious.
Wonderful dinner on our honeymoon. The initial mole tasting was unique and a great way to introduce special menu items. Both the halibut and the tuna were superb.
Courtyard seating was very pandemic-comfortable.
The patio dining was not very comfortable. They have cheap Walmart outdoor chairs that are very uncomfortable. The heaters can't be moved closer to the tables so it's cold. I had the halibut and it was mediocre, especially considering the cost - $55. We are trying to support the local restaurants during Covid but Sazon is nowhere close to what they were pre-Covid.
Best ever. Would not miss. Some of the best food I have ever had. The moles where to die for.
Amazing all around
Delicious. I love the introduction to mole', a sampler platter with small tortillas and 4 types of mole sauce so you can taste and chose which sauce you'd like for the evening. Best meal I've had in a restaurant in a long time. Excellent service, food and value!
Excellent cocktails, food & atmosphere . Chef Fernando greets all tables like you are his old friends.
The food was excellent. We had a poblano soup that was terrific, crispy duck skin tacos and shrimp enchiladas. The staff was very helpful with recommendations and attentive. Worth the money!
Love the new outdoor space. Food was amazing as always
Fantastic in every respect!
The courtyard dining was lovely. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Loved the assortment of mole at the start of the meal, and purchased a couple of jars to go.
The service was outstanding, attention on every level. Will definitely return!
Wonderful experience full of flavors.
My wife and I had a fantastic dinner at Sazon this week. Diego, our waiter, also made the experience extra special with detailed and inspired descriptions of our mezcal selections and dishes. It was a truly special experience. The food was wonderful, with the exception of some strange choices on my entree - a lamb and molé dish that was served with sweet potatoes that tasted like they were mixed with marshmallows. Just way too sweet, and didn't make sense with the already sweet molé. I gave the food five stars overall, because everything else was tremendous, but I just felt it was worth mentioning the missteps on the entree, it was a bit disappointing and confusing in the context of an otherwise incredible meal. Either way, I highly recommend this restaurant for a wonderful night out in Santa Fe.
Excellent food but the service and presentation were outstanding. Really made it an unforgettable experience.
Our first time to Sazon and our meal was fantastic. Wait staff was exceptional and the food was delicious. Our party of four each had something different for our entrees. Everyone was happy with our choice of restaurants. We enjoy fine dining and I can say it was one of the best meals we have eaten. We will be back!
Very cold outside
Heaters were available but not adequate
the meal was inventive and unique and very very tasty! The ambiance lacked something in the outdoor space due to Covid, but it was not that significant once the food arrived!
AMAZING FOOD!! I had the zucchini blossoms, love soup and mixed berry cobbler. Fantastic flavors, great service and ambiance. Due to COVID , seating was outside and did get a bit chilly... there were a few patio heaters but felt a bit cool. I’d recommend bringing a jacket or sweater😀
We ate out in the courtyard which was lovely. We had the tuna tartare to start with which was delicious and I had the salmon in filo dough with mushrooms. The filo dough was minimal which I preferred and the sauce was tasty. My husband had the Cholula which he loved. Overall an excellent experience.
Great outdoor patio for Covid safe dining and all the authentic flavors of Mexico City here in Santa Fe. The moles are incredible.
Poor service. Over an hour late for our reservation. Nowhere to sit while we waited.😢
The moles where wonderful. The service was great.
Good experience. Great service. Drinks were great but the main courses were good.
Sazon’s outdoor space was great! If cool evening try to get one of the alcoves in the new outdoor space ( they have heaters for the open air tables as well). As always the food was fantastic. Always a treat to get superb cooking with fun and unusual flavors that do not try to mimic the other top restaurants in SF. Remains the most memorable top end restaurant in SF.
The food and service was excellent for the price point.
Seriously underwhelming food given the restaurant's reputation. The shrimp enchiladas were a muddle of flavors and the salmon mediocre. Even the vaunted tough duck skin tacos were a miss.
Excellent experience. By far the best in Santa Fe. Not only was the food amazing, but the service, recommendations and staff were as well. The restaurant was beautiful. Wish we could go back before we leave. You won’t be disappointed.
Lovely experience. Food was outstanding and a different take on Mexican food.
One of the best meals I have ever experienced. Highly recommend and I cannot wait to return!
Fantastic restaurant, great food. Recommend highly, would go back in a heartbeat.
This was so good we went back two nights later. The mole(s) are to die for. Fabulous food and service.
Amazing food. Incredible staff. Beautiful experience!
Exceptional flavors. Professional, knowlegeable wait staff. Beautiful presentation of food.
Our evening at Sazon was a highlight of our trip. The food was creative and delicious. This is not your typical Mexican restaurant but a beautiful fusion of classic flavors with influences from
all over the world. The service is impeccable. The chef came by our table frequently during the meal and provided insight and recommendations. It was truly a pleasure to meet him and dine in his restaurant. Can not wait to go back!
Chef is great. Goes to every table make sure his guests are happy. The food and the drinks were great.
Best food in Santa Fe!
