Wonderful place! Servers very good and food delicious. Steak too rare in middle when asked for medium. Side dish very smokey in taste with bacon. Otherwise very good / delicious and will definitely return.

Was a nice dinner. Meal was good, not great. Salmon could have had more seasoning. Only got 4 asparagus on my plate. Salad was good, but could have had more tomatoes and less onions.

The food was good. Not wonderful but good. The noise level was uncomfortable. A wedding was in progress and the noise from the wedding made our evening a two star event. Very pretty space and above average food may encourage us to revisit but we’ll be sure to ask if a wedding is booked when making a reservation.

We regularly dine at Sax and, in the summer, at the Waterstar Grill. . .So, we are diners that are almost always happy customers. . .This past Saturday night, however, we felt there could/should have been someone trying to keep the UNGODLY noise coming from the wedding by the DJ controlling the volume of music!!. . .It was so loud, there were people leaving after they were seated, but before ordering!!. . . We would have left, too, if it weren't for the fact that we had already received, and were consuming, our first course!!. . .Even after mentioning it to the hostess, who mentioned it to the manager on duty, and the noise abating for a few minutes, the noise level rose to the uncomfortable level, again!!. . .It was horrible!!!. . .You need to take matters into your hands and not allow weddings to disrupt your REGULAR diners to that degree!!

The ambience is nice, the food good had dinner and brunch. Great burger, wedge salad and roast chicken. Cappuccino good too. The staff could not be nicer, everyine that works there is super awesome which made for a really special experience. Bright windows overlook Main Street during the day, cozy gas fireplace a glow at night

Enjoyed a drink at the bar before dinner. Service and food were outstanding. The only problem seems to be finding an Uber driver after dinner. We’ve been stranded twice. Thankfully we were able to get Lyft to pick us up.

The ambiance is clean, crisp, and modern. The decor is up-to-date. It was Christmas dinner and the food was excellent. It seemed that there was a staffing issue. Service started out with a bang - friendly, knowledgeable. However, when the tables started to fill-up, the service slipped.
It appeared that they must have had "call-outs" or poor scheduling; the servers could not keep up. We waited for a long time to get coffee/dessert at the end and even longer to get the check.

I'd give them another chance.

My husband is handicapped and it was very convenient getting in and out. It also was our 1st Christmas eating out. Food was great and everything looked festive. Wewere seated near fireplace which was great since my husband is always cold. Overall a great evening.

This experience at Sax was wonderful. I have had both good and not-so-good experiences there. The small dining room became very noisy at times when the band in the adjacent event room fired up. So, depending on whether or not there is an event and what type it might be, the ambiance in the dining room can vary from intimate to "shout to be heard."

Tuna appetizer was terrific. Wedge salad was a nice size to share and very good. Cioppino was just okay and over priced. The short rib dinner was very good. Service was very good and the bar drinks were well made. Overall it was a pleasant evening and would go back.

This was our first visit to Sax Restaurant. Our meal was excellent! The food was hot, the fish was cooked to perfection with a delicate sauce that added just the right complement. Our server Tim was the best! Very knowledgeable on the menu & wines offered. And very personable!! Will be sure to request Tim next time we dine! Was overall an exceptional experience!

The perfect spot in Stone Harbor for a nice upscale dinner. The appletini's were spectacular! Every food option was delicious and flavorful from the appetizers through the main course. Calamari was fried to perfection - light and crispy. Crab corn chowder and the tomato soup with grilled cheese triangles portions were almost too large, but sooooo good. Wedge salad was large enough for 2 and the server suggested we split - Thank goodness 2 of us did. Table service was professional and very informative about the menu. The lobster risotto and scallops w/wine reduction were delightful and perfectly cooked seafood. A wedding was occurring at the same time we were here for dinner and we experienced NO delays in receiving our food. Great job! That shows an well managed kitchen operation - Thank you for your attention to all details.
Overall a wonderful evening had by all in our group.

Took my husband here for a birthday dinner. Food was very good but the service was truly outstanding. Our waiter (Tim) was very attentive and gave great input regarding the menu options. Only downside was that there was a very noisy wedding going on in the banquet room next door and the guests kept spilling out into the bar area outside the restaurant and making a great deal of noise. Obviously not t he restaurant's fault as they had no way to force these folks to behave properly.

Sax is a five star upscale restaurant in Stone Harbor NJ. Probably the nicest restaurant in the area. It is part of Reeds Hotel. Great food and excellent service. Short Ribs and Branzini are top choices on the menu.

the food was all delicious...the sorbet portion was a tad overwhelming, so I felt like a food waster (3 enormous balls were delicious, but I couldn't make a dent in but one!). The highlight of our evening was our server, Tim. He was appropriately chatty, informative, attentive and personal...even more impressive was that he was the waiter for the ENTIRE room (about 25 tables with 2-10 people each) and was able to work it without much of a wait or being inattentive. His 2 assistants (bus boy and server) were very helpful, efficient, and polite in spite of being young summer help. Tim treated my parents to a dessert for their anniversary, and for my mother's birthday (2 days apart). It was a lovely experience.

Disappointing dining experience overall. Salmon was overcooked and miso maple glaze/sauce was cloying and overwhelmed any hint of ponzu and bok choy did not taste fresh. Pistachios in beet salad tasted stale. Braised short ribs were tough, not tender. Fondue was tasty and a creative touch. Stout cake and vanilla ice cream were good, though frosting/ganache tasted similar to miso maple sauce from salmon. Sweet potato fries were tasty. Warm cornbread was also pretty good. Chili pepper butter was creative amd a nice touch. Summer Harvest entree was a decent and hearty vegetarian option with some good flavor. Waiter was friendly but service was VERY SLOW, over two hours total, which was problematic, especially with our toddler. Waited a long time for our entrees. Waiter apologized and offered one free dessert for our party of five. Dessert then took more than a half hour. Finally went into kitchen in search of waiter to ask for check.

We have been there a few times before and there is no consistency in the quality of the menu. Ordered the same menu twice and the first time was perfect that is why we went week after week, the follow up week the food was poor quality and taste. Not sure how that happens with an exact meal.
Sweet potato fries were good.
Service is slow.
