We were a party of six for brunch at Sherwood Park Sawmill. We enjoyed our time, restaurant is well designed and nicely decorated. There were plenty of food choices, although some of it was a little cold. And I felt sorry for the young man making the omelettes, he struggled a bit. I feel that he could have been trained better. Those are the reasons for my four star rating.
And our waitress, although very friendly and prompt.... kept calling me “hon”. I don’t feel that’s necessary or professional.
We will be back though, it’s a nice place to go for Sunday brunch :)
Our server, Whitney was very nice and provided excellent service. As usual the food was very good. The complimentary dessert in honor of our anniversary was much appreciated.
I would definitely come back here to eat, such a wonderful place, great staff
The food was great, the service was great..We went there for our Anniversary and it was noted by the staff. Thank you for the great night.
Was greet quickly and shown to our table. The waitress was prompt, friendly and attentive. The food was good.
Food was very good. Service was excellent. Wait time for meal was very good.
The food was cold and we arrived at 10 am
Taste was very disappointing
Doubt we will be back
Expected a way better brunch when the bill for 4 adults is $175.00
We had a bit of a wait between our appetizers and main meal but that was to be expected for Valentines Day. The staff was very busy but still done an amazing job. As always the food was great.
It was like getting to know an old friend again. It's been awhile since the last time I was at the Sawmill and it was nice to go back.
The back room we were seated in was uncomfortably chilly, a few customers were wearing their jackets to keep warm. Our calamari was served less than lukewarm, and the 10-11 small pieces barely warranted the $13 charge. Service was slow which was to be expected as it was Valentine’s Day, that really wasn’t a huge concern.
The Valentine Menu provided great flexibility for any foodie. Service outstanding. Tables spaced a little too close together. Little privacy.
Valentines dinner was a disaster. Considering the quality of the food and service, extremely overpriced. When we spoke to our server about bringing a dessert to the table that we didn’t order she became extremely rude. We asked for a manager. We explained the issue and got some chit chat and a blank stare. We waited for one half hour for the bill. Won’t be coming back, ever.
Did not enjoy, poor service and mediocre food!
Excellent service and awesome food
Worst clam chowder I have ever had. Waitress was nice , messed up order. I told manasger and he didn't do anything about it. Main dishes took 25 minutes to arrive after appi's
Everything was excellent!
We all had the Prime Rib / 3 courses.
It was perfect.
We love the intimate atmosphere and the friendly waitstaff.
It's definitely our go-to place for a special dinner (or date night).
We recommend it to all our friends and acquaintances.
I was disappointed, I ordered the Korean BBQ chicken and the carrots on top were dry and rubbery, clearly not fresh or crisp or recently washed.
I should have told my server but I was disappointed in all the food that came to the table. I feel like whoever was in the kitchen that night really just didn't care. It wasn't busy or full. I regret not trying to book somewhere else for my daughter's birthday.
Sorry, you used to be the benchmark or restaurants but I feel like I am done. Tired efforts in the main dishes. the Kobe Burger was gray, not looking grilled marked or cooked well. Greasy, no seasoning. Fries were dry and not fresh. My daughter did not eat her birthday meal. We brought home the leftover fettucini alfredo Wednesday night and straight into the fridge and it already smelled and tasted turned 1 day later.
Our Server was wonderful and we didn't get stuck on the food quality, but it was not a cheap night out with 6 of us for dinner and we will be booking elsewhere next time.
I was so happy to have my cancer free celebratory dinner here, the sawmill is always awesome. The staff went above and beyond to make the night amazing. 😀
Our server was terrific. She made sure we had everything we needed and had a lovely friendly personality.
Disappointing quality for price of food. Hot desert served cold. Will not go back.
I requested the team to help to have a surprise dinner for my parents in law and husband. It is a special occasion to thank them flying all the way from the other side of the world to come and help us to settle into parenthood. Eventhough I was not able to attend the dinner with them due to the newborn, the feedback that I got from them were superb. They enjoyed the night! Hence, I’m writing to thank the team from Sawmill Sherwood Park who help me on behalf to thank them! I will be visiting you all again once the newborn has passed the critical period. To whom visited this, this restaurant is definitely worth to go!
Service was good, restaurant was like a ice box(cold). Food was not good. Very disappointed for what we paid😞
We had cold food from the buffet. Could barely cut the English muffins for the eggs Benedict. Was not offered any more coffee when at the table. Food was poor and service was poor. Cost was high for the quality we got.
Food was absolutely ridiculous for the price! Got about 4 pieces of asparagus that I had no idea could be so skinny!! The waitress was just like “yeah, usually there’s more”, than walked away. You’d think with The keg and Chop, they’d step up their game. Also, love a good Bellini when I go out for dinner and can honestly say, this place was the worst I’ve had!
New Year’s Eve
Had dinner for the first time with visitors from Ontario and certainly would come back here. It was very busy as it was Dec 31st and staff were on the run for sure. Food was good and choices excellent
We dine at the Sawmill quite often. We really enjoy the Sawmill. This year we decided to celebrate our New Years Eve Anniversary there. We were not disappointed.
Waitress never cracked a smile. Food was very good though.
Met with friends on New Years Eve. Set menu but staff accommodated for food allergies. Good selections and meal was excellent. Would definitely go back...
Went for Sunday brunch. $28 plus drinks for a very basic buffet. Nice place. Below average value. Wouldn't go back.. Can see why it was so quiet. Good service though.
We dine at Sawmill once a month, or so. We have always had an excellent meal with service to match.
Yes definitely would, service was excellent! Our waitress was very sweet.we were sitting in the bar area as the dining room was full.I would recommend your restaurant to everyone! Thank you for the great service.I would bring my friends from out of town again ,they loved the food
Excellent meal and service as always. Especially with Myra as our waitress. Had a very enjoyable special Christmas dinner with our Grandsons.
Overall experience was good. Noise level was high but expected during holiday season. Food was good with the exception of my husbands mashed potatoes were less than lukewarm. He asked to have his potatoes heated, the waitress offered to bring a new serving of hot potaoes, however, they were never received. Therefore, my husbands entree consisted of a 7oz steak and a few spears of asparagus. Fortunately he had ordered an appetizer.
very busy night for them with all the Christmas party's going on. Service and food were great as always and the prime rib was cooked perfectly. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK TEAM!
The ambiance was nice and dark, but a lot of the tables around us were pretty loud so it was not a "quiet" place for dinner. I was surprised that you only get one roll with your meal and any additional you must pay for. I mean seriously? We only get one bun per patron? I would have loved a second roll with my salad, but I was not going to pay extra for it. The food itself was delicious and will most likely have us back in the future, but please correct your rule about the dinner rolls! If I am paying almost $10 for an app salad, I would like some additional rolls with butter to go with it!
Horrible food and awkward service. Would not go back and would not reccomend.
Server was very pressing about splitting the bills. I ended up paying for my own birthday dinner. I wish she would have waited till the end to look at billing.
As always, a wonderful meal and service. Go there at least once a month.
We go there a lot and this is the worst waiter we have ever had!
