Very good evening! It wasn't very loud, so we could converse easily, the food and service was very good. A great place for a nice dinner out!
Wonderful buffet for Mother’s Day. Great food choices!!! Chicken Kiev was excellent as well as my fully loaded omelette.
The brunch was amazing and it had something and more for everyone. Had a wonderful time
We went for mothers day brunch and it was just too crowded. Too noisy, but we love it there otherwise.
Food was great as always. Very accommodating staff. Nice evening out!
Excellent Sunday brunch, lots to choose from! I will definitely return!
This was the Sawmill I’ve come to love. Incredible food and great service!
A nice place for an Easter brunch for family and friends
Our experience with 11 people was okay! The waitress was enexperience. She cleared an empty table before she cleared our table. We sat with finished plates for 45 minutes before our table was cleared. She forgot my Husband Salad. We were disapointed with the Service but the food was really good!
Too noisy for one, between music and people talking, was hard to talk intimately at my own table. Expensive!! Choked on the tip. Food was slow coming..but delicious, service was friendly. I'd love more gluten free options. I'll be back, but rarely, based on prices. Sadly, the prices are way too high.
We came at 1 pm and a number of the food items were very depleted. The food seemed OK but not up to the usual excellent standards that we have come to expect from the Sawmill. If a number of the food items are almost gone at 1 pm then customers shouldn't pay full price. In the past we have been offered mimosas with the brunch but not this time. The servers were excellent and polite.
I wouldn’t right now.
I had a drink spilt on me by the bartender/waitress and all’s they said was sorry and count us the drink that they split on me. I was covered in beer
The food was good but the service was horrible. Had to go into the kitchen to get served the sliced meat. Only had my coffee in the tiny cup filled once and constantly had to ask them for stuff, they didn't stop by to ask if we needed anything at all. They just didn't seem like they could be bothered.
Excellent food as always. Service was quite slow. Except for my son’s pop, our drinks took about 20 minutes to arrive, brought by someone else. It was another 10 minutes of waiting before our sever came back to take our order, and then we waited over an hour for our food. No bread/buns offered or brought which would have made the long wait for food easier with a hungry child, but after she took our order we didn’t see our server again until just before food arrived, so it was too late to ask, and by the time she came back we’d been sitting with empty drinks for quite a while. She got refills and someone else brought out the food finally. She was lovely and friendly when she was at our table, but we were there for 2.5 hours mostly sitting and waiting for service. If the restaurant had been full it would have been understandable, but it was mostly empty.
Service was just ok it seemed like they were under staffed and we had to ask for our bill so we could leave. Food was great as usual
Overall a very good experience. Very good service. Food was good.
Thank you for your kind words and review!
The eggs Benedict were over done. The sushi was stale as the rice was hard. Maybe over cooked. Omelette station was a nice touch, but the ham cubes are way too big and when you have a bite the h smoked ham is over powering the taste.
Always great food. Service was a bit slow but overall great quality made up for it. Window blinds/walls by tables were pretty dusty and had food particulate on them-look like they’re neglected and need a good cleaning, but rest of restaurant seems well maintained and clean.
It was as we expect.
Our server was amazing! She went above and beyond to make sure my Husband's birthday dinner was awesome! We very much enjoyed the evening!
Great food fast service. Easy to use Open table to reserve our table too
We have been there several times all but twice eating in the lounge which has always been excellent! My husband and i took his brother and wife there for dinner friday. My brother in law has a severe allergy to egg that requires medical intervention if he ingests something that has simply touched egg. We told the waitress that he had an egg allergy and to make sure she left the yorkshire pudding off his prime rib. When his order came there was a Yorkshire pudding to his plate. The waitress said she told the chef he had a dairy allergy... the whole table said Egg in unison. Shes like yes right thats what i told the chef. She brought back a plate of prime rib claiming it was fresh. We doubt it was new because he had a reaction shortly after eating the meat. Luckly he was able to stop the reaction with some benedryl but our evening was cut short because he was not feeling well after his dinner. The waitress didnt seem to think it was a big deal and sort of laughed it off then she dropped a steak knife on my foot. Very expensive meal that wasnt enjoyed by my brother in law. Everyone elses meals were fine. Just not impressed with the waitress attitude. As well we sat with empty plates/napkins covering them for at least 15 mins before she took them away, the restaurant was not busy. Needless to say we didnt tip and the bill was over $200
Great night for Valentines
We are very happy that we were able to make your Valentine's Day dinner a positive one! Thank you for your review!
I’m assuming the poor service was due to being very busy all at one end on Valentine’s Day. The server was very nice but we only saw her a couple times after ordering. Orders were incomplete, no bread brought to the table and didn’t refill our drinks till after dessert ( even though we saw her running around with a pitcher of water our empty water glasses didn’t get noticed). We just weren’t on her radar. The food was excellent!
Hello Donna, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We would like to apologize for the lack of service this night. I have made some notes in your profile, the next time you book with us, we will ensure you are well taken care of. We thank you for the positive feedback on the food, and we will make sure to pass your kind words on to our kitchen staff! If you would like to talk to me further, please do not hesitate to call the restaurant and ask for Valerie. Thank you!
We made reservations at the last minute for 24 people. They were accommodating and served us well. The food tasted great and it was timely.
Parents leaving south
Would definitely not book a table with you again. I booked 2 weeks ahead and ended up not with the table we had booked. We booked the dining room area which had entertainment etc. We ended up in the lounge first thing it was 30 minutes after we arrived. The area had no water glasses, scattered cutlery, Caesar salad was like water, no crotons, shrimp was served in a ramican looked like crap. Steaks were cooked incorrectly, had to ask for bread when we did i the server said this was only for the dining room had to explain to her that we were sat here and we were supposed to be in the dining room. Price was crazy for what we received almost 300$ for 4 people for crap service and food very disappointed. Talked to manager about this when we were first seated and it seemed like we were an inconvenience I understand it being busy on New Year’s Eve however if you are only looking for a one time visit and not repeat business then this is certainly the way to do it. Overall would rate it a 1 out of 10
It was New Years Eve. The food was great, the service was average. We were not told that we only had 3 choices for dinner, ranging from $49 to $69 per meal. They brought the main course too quickly, I was not even done my salad. We then waited a long time for dessert and more service. My cheesecake was still frozen in the middle, then we waited quite awhile for our bill. The food itself was fantastic, and I should have done my research regarding the menu. We also only had 1:45 minutes to eat, I was unaware of that as well. All in all, a great time was had and the food portions were large.
As usual, meals were creatively prepared, delicious and abundant portions! Wine to accompany was of a good vintage, recommended by our Server. Staff were friendly and unobtrusive allowing for our table to enjoy the meal and conversation.
Highly recommend this location, it’s among our destination eateries...
We moved to Medicine Hat 3 years ago, but whenever we’re in the Edmonton area, we make a point to go to the Sawmill in Ft. Sask. Food and service is always excellent.
We rally enjoyed the lounge setup and atmosphere. Good selection of sports to watch in football Sunday.
It was great, just had to keep looking for our waitress. She was very nice and was accommodating. I think she was just really busy. There was a few large groups there. Overall, great food, great atmosphere, perfect for the occasion and the staff was helpful. Thank You.
Our server, Mel, was fantastic. She is always so engaging and funny all while ensuring that all our dining needs were met. It's always fun when Mel is your server!
As usual our server, Shawna, was so professional and efficient.
Always a great spot for a prime rib dinner, great service and pleasant waitress. Also a convenient location and parking is good
Servers were very efficient in seating and serving. Came back to check on how we liked our food. Vegetables were not included inthe steak sandwich and would have been nice to have a few. Parking lot was extremely icy and seems no safety measures such as gravel on top of the ice.
Brittany was a great server, the prime rib was great however there were no clams in the clam chowder. That was disapointing.
My steak and wife’s prime rib a bit tough.
Sawmill has always been our go to for Brunch but I think the Fort sask location has gone downhill for food. I found the variety to be lacking, the food was on the cold side and the mimosa was all orange juice w maybe a splash of champagne. Next girls brunch we will try a new location which is too bad.
We spent a very pleasant evening with friends, an annual get together and we always meet at this Sawmill. A Sunday evening so it was quiet and welcoming. Great service. We were not hurried. The prime rib well delicious and very tasty, was well done when medium rare was requested on 2 of the orders. As the whole meal was very well presented and the meat was certainly a good eat, we did not complain.
Thanks again for a very nice evening.
