Lunch buffet at the Sawmill was as usual, excellent, service, food and staff. The request for table location was accommodated and appreciated.
The service was wonderful and the steak benedict was great.
the meal started great and then went downhill . Starter delicious and hot ,rest was cold like warm at best . Had to ask 3 times for horseradish and it never did appear .It was for a birthday and we were all disappointed.
Great food, server was excellent. Very overall pleasant dining experience.
We each had the buffet. The only complain is that they ran out of some of the menu items.
The Sawmill again was excellent. Food and service was excellent as we have always found it to be. We enjoyed the steak & lobster supper. Sawmill continues to be one of our favorite places to dine.
I was disappointed that the salad bar is only with the buffet. I wanted prime rib but no salad bar so we had the buffet that was not bad but less than previous visits. I did not see that the 15% tip was included and tipped the waitress again and she said nothing. Will not be returning to this location again and will inform friends of the difference in the food value.
Staff are so helpful and friendly. It was busy but we never felt ignored. The brunch Buffett delicious and so much variety. We've been here a few times and it never disappoints . We will be back!
The food, ambiance and service were all very, very good but my evening was ruined when I chipped a tooth by biting on something hard in the stuffed pork from the hot buffet. I informed my server and the manager of what had happened. Both were genuinely concerned and my meal was covered which I appreciated. All that said, I've eaten at a few different Sawmill locations and have always thoroughly enjoyed myself. I can only assume that this was a totally rare and random occurrence and I certainly won't hesitate to visit this location again.
Excellent value at the weekday lunch buffet. Roast beef, fish, chicken, plus spaghetti, pyrogies, salads, vegetables and fruit.
Celebrating a birthday. We had a booth that was reasonably quiet and we enjoyed a nice meal.
Service was good and we will go back.
We had a wonderful server who was very attentive, but not intrusive. The food was very good. I had a Caesar salad with chicken and my friend had the steak benedict. They serve breakfast on Saturdays from 11, and the brunch on Sunday is especially good. Great value on the weekday lunch buffet as well.
We visited the Sawmill in West Edmonton on 170th St.
We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and waited 10 minutes before anyone greeted us. Then, although there were only 2 tables that were occupied, the hostess disappeared to check on our table. When she returned, she offered a terse apology but indicated she had to take a phone call. It was not clear if the call was business or personal. When we were seated the waiter was cheerful and friendly but through the evening as more tables were seated we had to continually flag down various staff to get additional drinks etc. The Monday special was Steak and Lobster and although the price was reasonable, the food was lousy. Tasteless lobster and we had to request the melted butter that should have accompanied the meal. The butter had a bad garlic taste and the steak was, at best, mediocre.
Overall, we received extremely poor value and will certainly not return and will recommend that friends and family do not dine here.
For the first time in several months, the Poached Basa was melt in your mouth incredibly fantastic!! Kudos to chef, Basa is a beautiful, delicious fish when chef poaches it the way he did last Wednesday, July 19th, we will be back for more fantastic Basa!!
Service was atrocious. Took business clients there. Waiter asked us for drinks and I asked if anyone in group of 10 wanted wine. He came back and I said 6 of us wanted to share bottle of wine but he never asked anyone else if they wanted a drink. I didn't notice until 20 minutes later. He told me he assumed everyone else was good. After the meal, he never asked us if we wanted coffee or dessert. We waited 45 minutes and my guests started to leave. He finally came by and asked if I wanted the bill. Good thing there is an auto-gratuity for big groups. It wouldn't have been as good as the 15% they took.
