Sawa's dual-concept tapas-centric menu was created to encourage a shareable dining experience. The menu tells a story of when the East meets the Far East and the unique offerings of contemporary Mediterranean & Japanese dishes merge an innovative sushi menu with a memorable ensemble of tapas and entrees. Guests can explore traditional Lebanese dishes, such as hummus, kibbeh, and falafel and expand into nouveau Mediterranean and Japanese flavors, as Sawa fuses together creative cuisine elements into one great menu.
While Sawa is known for its inclusive & creative menu and beautiful outdoor ambiance, entertainment is also an integral part of Sawa's story, focusing on an upscale eater-tainment concept as dinner guests are enchanted by live professional bellydance shows every weekend.

There was no connection between the kitchen and waiters. My order was forgotten. My drinks took forever to arrive, supposedly the place was full, yet it was half empty. Food was mediocre, at best. For such a prime area, this place was extremely disappointing. I will never be going back
My mother is visiting from abroad.
Had reservations for 7PM. Was seated and waited 15 minutes before we had to flag down a server. Ordering was fine. Drinks came just before the food arrived, they said bar orders were backed up. Food was fine. Asked for additional pita bread, never got it. Overall, not a place I will search out again.
We celebrated our cousin’s birthday. We had a great time. Food, drinks and service were terrific.
Love it amazing food and service
Poor service and bad food, dry chicken
Service very slow and not welcoming
Sawa is back with greater force than ever. Scott who was our server for years is now part of management and you can tell! There is no detail he fails to see! Sawa has always felt we are taking a trip to Greece while being in Miami! Sawa you are back better! Thank you!
Absolutely exceptional experience. Food phenomenal, Fabian’s service impeccable. Some of the best sushi we’ve ever had, and lollipop lamb chops appetizer was perfect. 10/10
Sawa has a huge outdoor dining area and a menu that, while described as Mediterranean, has a strong Japanese influence with large sections devoted to sushi, sashimi and a variety of rolls and dumplings. The food is often unadorned and average quality. Dumplings have a good skin but bland filling, while the rolls struck me as having more ingredients than necessary and are served with a thick sweet sauce. I had to specially request soy sauce from an unfortunately inattentive staff. I also tried the fried calamari that seemed baked or reheated - it had good flavor but was surprisingly dry with some tough dehydrated pepper slices alongside. My biggest gripe at Sawa is the tipping policy - the staff is often absent but when you check finally arrives they with intentionally or cluelessly miscalculate the suggested tip. Claiming a 20% tip on a $67 post-tax total is $16.19 is just false. Do the math - it’s less than $15 even if I calculate it with the tax. That is high even if the service were far better. I have no plans to return
Kate was an an amazing server
Excellent food.... only drawback was slow service.
The service was excellent although the menus were difficult to access. It’s a very pleasant setting with nicely restrained noise levels. The food was unseasoned and disappointing —far too much parsley in the tabouleh. Other dishes might be better but I doubt we’ll go back.
Sawa has amazing food, great ambiance, and the wait staff rocks! There is a great variety of food and drinks…. I highly recommend the Paloma. My go to place for happy hour….. can’t beat the price.

As it was raining all day, I call the restaurant directly to ask to be moved to an inside table, this was confirmed. When we arrived we were taken to a table on the street, and when I asked what happened to our inside table we were told that they were all occupied (even though an inside table had been confirmed by phone!).
The street table was poor quality and noisy, service was not good, only QR menus were available. it also took a while to serve our food.
Although my friend and I had an enjoyable evening, it was not enhanced by SAWA.
This is my third visit to SAWA, the last two have been quite disappointing, so I will consider other restaurants for future business or leisure dining.
SAWA does not meet the standards I expect to find at Village of Merrick Park
The food was delicious. We sat outside and had a wonderful time.
The food was bland for a Mediterranean restaurant.
Girls get together
As always the food was terrific. Erik was a very accommodating server and we hope to have he pleasure of having him again.
Food was not free. Mold on the olives. Rotting mint in the drinks. Took 20 mins for server to approach the table to say she would be back. We finally got our drinks 45 mins after sitting down .
Service was terrible. The servers did their best, but you needed more waiters and service personnel. Can't drink warm red wine. Get a wine cooler!
Food was good
The service was just ok. Server didn't have much knowledge on the food or drinks. octopus was a little tough and overcooked. the Server left the old menus on the table under our food for most of the meal. Atmosphere is nice , food ok, service below par.
The food was good but the service was terrible. Took forever for drinks to come out, we were asked if we wanted all the food to come out together, we said yes. The sushi we ordered didn’t come out with the rest of our food. When they came to clear some plates, we told them to cancel the sushi as we’d finished our meal. They never canceled it, and ended up bringing it out 20 mins later, we sent it back. We’d read the service was poor from other reviewers but thought maybe it was an off day, it wasn’t.
Service has become poor in the past few visits. Drinks take a long time to arrive. They try to charge you regular price if you don’t mention Happy Hour specials... ( during happy hour )
Sawa is a nice outdoor restaurant in Coral Gables, Florida We have been there many times for happy hour, and also for a lite dinner on the weekends. They get busy and sometimes the service can be SLOW. But overall they give good service and the food quality is tasteful. Prices are reasonable for the portions. Drinks are great, however please remind your server if you order an Old Fashion, that the cherries are supposed to be BLACK not Red. Bartending 101 -- they need to fix that!
See you soon!
Service is majorly lacking. Went 3 times in the last few weeks. Each time the food was great and the service was very poor.
Such a wonderful experience!! We always enjoy the patio dining. The food is delicious-with so much variety.
Food was excellent
Service was fair at best
Amazing experience ! I recommend this restaurant 100000%
Doesn't like the drink, Lychee Martini... last time I was there, same, the drink doesn't good.
Very nice environment, service and food. I recommend it.
Made reservations for lunch. Arrived on time and were shown to our table right away. After 15 minutes no waiter to take our order. Called the restaurant and spoke to someone and told him we were sitting there and still waiting for a waiter. The guy said “you are calling from the restaurant”? And I said “yes”. He hung up!!!! Then we went to the hostess table. She said “just a minute”…. Finally someone came to take our order…. 25 minutes after sitting down…. Then waited 30 minutes and they served food which we did not order! One hour later…. What a bad experience. By the time a manager came to apologize we were too upset to stay one minute longer. Thank you for offering us a free appetizer and free dessert. But this was too late by then.
The last 3 times we were there the drinks were not served as we asked for, rum & Coke had no lemon or lime. Then last night our friends’ drinks did not come out at all, they already finished their food, and we had to go inside to talk to somebody at the bar. Our girl server was really nice and was trying to make it right, but if management doesn’t know how to run the place or jump in to help, it’s just going to get worse. It’s been quite a steep decline.
With a twenty minute wait time for drinks happy hour was delayed signficantly. However the ambiance and our apologetic and kind server saved the day.
Always love coming here. Thankyou for always giving great service, servers are extra nice and sushi is affordable.
La atención estuvo bien pero le faltó ser más atento y retirar los platos todos juntos
Very lovely presentation of food.
Everything was fresh and the greek/sushi mix of options is great!
Food was delicious. We will be going back again.
Delicious food, great service, beautiful location. Love the outdoor tables at Merrick Park. The diverse menu, a Mediterranean- Japanese fusion, has something for everyone. The dumplings, the tuna sandwich roll and the grilled octopus we ordered and shared, were delicious.
You can never go wrong at Sawa!
The food and the service it wasn’t too good.
Dirty table during our dinner, they never cleaned it
Great food and ambiance. We enjoyed finally going out again together. Happy Hour is a great value
