Savor Ratings and Reviews
Great restaurant and food! Had a show to go to downtown and this started our evening with a bang. Shared several items across our table so we could get a good sampling. Great bar drinks too! Will be back as the food selections were interesting and delicious.
My wife and I enjoyed our two year wedding anniversary dinner here. The wait staff was amazing, and we were given complimentary champagne. And to top it off, not only did the hostess acknowledge and tell us “Happy Anniversary” upon our arrival, but the the menu included a special anniversary cover. Lastly, being the month of December, this restaurant could not be any more beautiful having Christmas lights all around the building. It was a top-notch experience through and through.
We usually come to favor for any special occasion since it's my mom favorite and every time the food and service is exceptional, but this time both of those things were quite sub par. The waitress was incredibly rude and the food had either been sitting out for a while and just didn't taste fresh/warm. The calamari was over salted and the bolognese had no flavor and the noodles hard, borderline cold. Very sad.
I visited Savor prior to attending a performance at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. As a result, I arrived somewhat before the usual Friday evening crowd. Both the food and service was first rate. My waiter was attentive and helpful. The food arrived hot and beautifully presented. I had smoked port shoulder over mashed potatoes adorned with Napa cabbage. The meat was nicely smoked without being overwhelming and the cabbage had a beautiful crunch that contrasted nicely with the potatoes. Very nicely done overall.
Planned Thanksgiving Day meal for husband & self didn’t work out so we just started exploring options. On a whim decided to drive downtown and then the idea of something around the KWP popped into my head. Could not have been more perfect! No wait, beautiful day, sat outside and watched the activity in the park. We chose the traditional turkey meal which although mass produced was very tasty. Could not have designed the experience any better!
We went there for Thanksgiving dinner and it was somewhat disappointing. The atmosphere and outdoor seating was amazing. However, the service was extremely slow. Not through any fault of our server per se; it seemed that there was not enough wait staff scheduled that day.
The meal was also not up to the usual standard that I expect from Savor.
We went to Savor for Thanksgiving, as there were just 3 of us, and my son-in-law doesn't like turkey, so we wanted to be able to order off a menu. We were very pleasantly surprised at the wonderful location. We looked out over Klyde Warren park, actually sitting on the western edge of it. My S-I-L had the brisket, which he liked, I had a pasta dish, and my daughter had the shrimp and grits which we decided was the best of the three. Oh, I ordered the lobster puffs for an appetizer which I shared with my daughter and they were devine! Lovely location, nice service, good food and wonderful ambiance! This is the place to bring out-of-town guests to show off downtown Dallas!
The setting is beautiful. The servers were very helpful and kind. The food was very good but the portion were tiny. We had to get the menu back to order more because the scallop entree only had 3 scollops for $30. A little larger portion for entrees and this would be a 5 star stop
My friend, Martha, and I were both celebrating our birthday. From the time we entered the restaurant we were made to feel that they were glad we had been born. The food was exceptionally tasty, but it was the service that made it outstanding. Eric was our server. He answered our questions without making us feel dumb for asking. The one he didn't have an answer for he found out. This wasn't my first time at Savor nor will it be my last.
Lunch with a long time friend. Great seating. Very comfortable and I love looking out at Klyde Warren Park. We started with the deviled eggs. Delicious. We both had the fried chicken salad and loved it. Very fresh ingredients and the dressing (on the side) was light and very flavorful.
Our server was attentive without being intrusive. All in all a delightful lunch enjoyed with a lovely wine. We will be back.
The staff that greeted and seated us was amazing. Our waiter was initially very cordial then he got pulled to a large party and we felt left "high and dry". My friend ordered a burger and had to wait for a long period to get some condiments. The waiter never came to see how everything came out. The food itself was delicious as this was my first time to come; my friend recommended it. She was also disappointed in the server as well. However, we told them we were going to the Winspear and they did get us in and out with time to spare. I'd give it another try; hopefully the wait staff is a bit more attentive
This is a really attractive restaurant, looking out at a lively scene in Klyde-Warren Park, Although the food was really good, overall it was rather a disappointing experience. Service was very slow - nearly an hour between appetizers and entree - and we felt the wine-by-the-glass pours were really skimpy.
This was probably my 5-6th visit. Our group of friends is from Ft Worth & when we come for a day in Dallas for museums or performing arts, this is one of my favorite restaurants. The ambience & view of the park is excellent! The food today was good. The only unsatisfactory meal was the crust of the chicken fried steak came off too easily. The shrimp & scallop salad was very good & a large portion. The steak salad was good but not as good as Del Frisco's. Our server was attentive & accommodated our request for 8 pieces on order of lobster rolls. Valet parking makes the restaurant easily accessible.
It was a Sunday night and the restaurant was pretty empty. Our waiters did a wonderful job and although the wine list did not have anything that I recognized, the waiter did a great job of recommending something that we would like.
I ordered the swordfish and was disappointed. The waiter assured me that the chef knew how a cook it but it was dry. It was in a heavy tomato-based sauce, which obliterated taste of the fish, which I happen to enjoy. I would’ve given it 2 stars for that but my colleagues enjoyed their meal so I’m giving it three. It’s trendy and in a pleasant location but not worth the money we paid, in my opinion.
