Awarded 3 Stars "EXCELLENT," by The Bergen Record. Voted "BEST OF BERGEN" by (201) Magazine. Savini is a Sophisticated, Award Winning, Northern Italian/Continental Restaurant. Considered one of the most attractive restaurants in Bergen County, food is served at Savini in what was once a colonial home. What remains of the original only contributes to the aesthetics. But it is a positive culinary experience that diners seek and that is what they get at Savini. It excels in the three most significant barometers of a restaurant's health: Food, Service and Atmosphere. The cuisine is Northern Italian/Continental. Specialties cover the gamut – a selection of fresh fish delivered daily, homemade pasta, veal, chicken, steaks and chops. Enjoy coffee, an after-dinner drink and perhaps late night music in the lounge. Our cuisine and menu will please the most discerning palate and is both distinctive and unique.

Savini Ratings and Reviews
This was our 3rd trip to Savini and will NOT be out last. This is our #1 place for special occasions. The food is absolutely amazing, the drinks are great (and heavy pour), the place is beautiful and upscale but still comfortable. The best part about Savini are the people.. I have never felt more important than when we go here notable because we are on the lower end of the spenders here, every single person working there made us feel like we were the most important table they had that night - especially the manager who came over, made sure we were happy and even had a chat with us over a menu item (white truffles from puglia, OMG). Plus the food - its like bites of heaven. My only complaint is that its hard to get a reservation for people who plan at the last minute, because we would definiately go more if we could. (ps- if you tell them you're coming for a special occasion like a birthday, they print you a special's menu with the person's name on it, it was my wife's birthday - she took the menu home)
Overall good. One meal out of 6 came out cold and was sent back and then came back overdone. It should have been taken off the bill or some other offer of a drink or dessert made. Nothing. And the person who’s meal was affected said he would not go back.
That being said and in fairness, my meal was perfect and I love the place but it only takes one bad experience to upset the meal.
My family and I celebrated my birthday on December 20th. Even though the restaurant was busy with a great deal of holiday celebrations going on, the service was impeccable, the food was outstanding, and there was no excessive waiting on the food. We had a wonderful evening, and we will definitely be returning for a special occasion or anytime we want to have a terrific meal.
Savinis was my favourite restaurant when I lived in Bergen County. I always missed it after moving 10 years ago. I was in the area and decided to make a reservation hoping it was still delightful. I wasn't disappointed. So happy to say it was just as wonderful as it was 10 years ago.. Attentive but not intrusive service, fantastic food and charming ambiance. It was a wonderful lunch.
I have eaten at this fine restaurant several times over the years, and have always loved the food and ambiance. My company has also held holiday parties in the private rooms upstairs, which have also always gone well.
This week, I had a party of 5 meeting for a holiday lunch. Something was up with the service on this day. It took a while to get menu's. Drinks came quickly. Appetizers arrived without issue. The problem began with waiting for our Entrees. From the time the appetizer plates were cleared from the table, until we received our Entree, was close to 45 minutes. At the 30 minute mark, I got the attention of the waiter and asked about the delay. He cordially responded that everything is fine and that our food would be out momentarily. It took another 15 minutes for the food to arrive. At this point, we had to eat so quickly in order to get back to our office for a 2pm meeting. We arrived at the restaurant at 12:15 and were seated before 12:20pm. We received our Entree's at 1:40pm. Fortunately, our office is only a few minutes away so we still made our meeting on time. It would have been nice to have had the time to have a cup of coffee and some dessert, as was our original plan, but we only had 10 minutes to eat the entree, pay the bill, and head back to work. Kind of disappointing. I am chalking it up to that perhaps they were just having a bad day since my prior experiences have always been positive. This bad experience wouldn't prevent me from going back, but I would certainly be more vocal if this were to happen again and ask to see the manager while we were waiting.
Our first time to Savini. All food served was very good, tasty, fresh. The service was excellent, attentive. The acting Manager (or owner?) very pleasant. My only complaint is why did we have to order from their Dinner Menu (more expensive) for a Sunday Lunch at 1:15 PM? Unless I am mistaken I do not recall seeing in any of their website that on Sunday they only used the Dinner version of their menu. I believe this is not right nor correct. It was a little pricey for 3 people with a wine bottle. If I try them again it will be for lunch.
My white truffle fettuccine with white truffles was out of this world. I had an appetizer portion and I was stuffed. In general I would stick to pasta as your main course that is clearly what they do perfectly (all home made). Some at the table had veal and that was just average veal which is s shame particularly at their prices.
My group of 5 were dining to celebrate my birthday. We were all warmly welcomed by the manager/owner and the service was great throughout our time at Savini. The food was excellent and this was the perfect place to celebrate. There was a large gathering in the next room but we could not hear them.
We were celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary and Savini made it such a wonderful night. They printed special menus for us with our names wishing us a happy anniversary. It was a very thoughtful touch, and the food and service were also outstanding. I highly recommend Savini for dinner and any special occasion!
Food and service was pretty good overall. I can't understand charging refills on iced tea. It drives me nuts and would you charge a refill on coffee? If you are going to charge for refills then you should advise the customer and provide a decent size glass if you choose to charge. The glass is small and filled with ice so I think it's a bit tacky. The nicest restaurants in the city provide refills at no charge.
I had never been to Savini, but live locally. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was and our waiter was really great. The price is a little high, but it's perfect for a special night out. I also checked out the lunch menu which seems more reasonable for a lot of the same items.
We are now return customers to this restaurant. The food was excellent both times (off of the standard menu and the specials), and the waiters very attentive. The wine list is good, as are their cocktails.
The price seems within range of other restaurants of this caliber, and it always is pretty packed, even mid-week.
Restaurant felt somewhat dated, although comfortable. Service was excellent. Food was disappointing; the Rack of lamb was tasteless and was not served medium rare as requested. The gravy was overly heavy, more conducive to beef.
The fish was somewhat dry and the presentation was not very appealing.
Sorry to say, I would not return.
We had a lovely dinner with friends. The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable without being pushy or intrusive. We stayed at the table for a long time catching up and never once felt rushed. The menu is full of wonderful choices, and we were happy with our choices. We will be back again soon!
We asked for a quiet table for the birthday dinner and they gave us a great location. They asked for the spelling of the birthday girl, which we thought was odd, but when the menu came the heading read: Happy Birthday with her name! Needless to say we were all surprised. Dinner was delicious, service great, and they brought her a piece of cake with happy birthday spelled out on the plate! All in all a very pleasant dining experience. We will definitely go back.
We have visited Savini many times over the years and always enjoyed it. The food is always excellent and the ambiance very pleasant... This visit included a wonderful surprise. They had just gotten in some fresh white truffles, which I had with fettuccini pasta in a delightful cream sauce. Given that we are no longer able to travel extended distances, I thought I would never get to experience fresh white truffles again... They were heavenly!! We will be back again... and again... and again....
