Named after the owner’s youngest son, Satchel’s on 6th is the place to eat and drink. Our Chef has created a contemporary, eclectic, New American neighborhood menu using seasonal ingredients that results in refined flavors and inspired plates. Our service is friendly, atmosphere relaxed and sophisticated. Join us for Dinner, Sunday Service, or Happy Hour. Warm wood tones and exposed brick highlight this cozy, 50 seat space that has made its home on East Denver's reinvigorated 6th Avenue. Says Casalini, "Our goal is to become the best go-to, indispensable restaurant in the neighborhood. Period. End of story."
We had a wonderful experience! My one caveat was that my burger was rare when I ordered medium. My husband ate it for me. The rest of our 6 meals were outstanding. Our server (Liz? Lynn?) Was wonderful. She checked with the kitchen and dealt with our gluten free/celiac needs.
Great as usual! Love this place!
I am gluten free and my friend was watching carbs. They accommodated both of us with smiles and gratitude for us being there. Loved it!
Love this neighborhood gem! Friendly and astute staff, fun crowd, and of course, great food and drink.
Satchel’s never disappoints. It is such a cozy neighborhood restaurant, but has the freshest, farm-to-table, beautiful food, and lovely cocktails. We went on Sunday, and shared a variety of the family-style plates — all were amazing. We are always excited to go back for another meal!
We couldn’t love it more!!!
The food is innovative, beautiful to look at, and of course tastes great!
The service is always friendly and efficient. What more could we want!!!
Enjoyed our food and a very friendly waitress. She knew a lot about the menu and offered great service without hovering.
A true neighborhood bar/restaurant. A wonderful spot to gather. The menu needs working, with more substantial dishes offered for slightly less. Overall, it's a great place with a terrific staff.
We were there to celebrate a family success and certainly the great atmosphere, service and delicious food helped make our celebration much sweeter and enjoyable.
This is a great neighborhood restaurant. I would recommend this establishment to those that want an intimate dinner with a very friendly staff and a nice ambiance
Very lovely time spent here with an old friend. As usual in today’s world noise level rose too high but otherwise very congenial
We chose Satchels for a graduation celebration dinner, and it was perfect — from the appetizers to the main meal to the desserts. I especially appreciated the small size but intense flavor of the dessert — so I didn't leave with that overstuffed feeling. Our only recommendation for change came from the vegetarian in the group, who would like for restaurants in general to offer at least two vegetarian choices so that the choice of dinners is not already made for him.
Oh my gosh! What a wonderful surprise. I was in town for work and looked on OpenTable and found this gem. Small with a funky young French feel. A turntable with lots of old records everywhere. My mocktail (mint lemonade) was amazing!! I'll be back.
Such an amazing restaurant! We enjoyed every dish!
When we first arrived at 5:30pm we were one of two tables but by 6:30pm the whole placed was packed. The specialty drinks were especially yummy and the food was delicious! Look forward to returning!
The service, food, and atmosphere was wonderful.
We had a delightful meal at Satchel’s on a Thursday night. The scallops I had were seared and cooked perfectly, a feat many chefs have not mastered. The service was excellent.
The reason I gave Satchel’s on 6th only 4 stars overall is because, on the night we were there, the menu was very limited. Moreover, out of the limited selections, several were vegetarian selections, and while I love some vegetarian dishes, the description of the ones on Satchel’s menu the night we were there were, to my taste, unexciting.
I love this restaurant! The service is great, the ambiance is perfect and the food is delicious.
All around very pleasant. Waitress, Melissa?, was professional and a riot. She’s a treasure.
The Menu way too small. There are not enough options.
Satchel's is not really as good as it should be. Folks, this is a little "neighborhood" joint, and I think it might be best just to have a drink at the bar. The food is good and solid and I believe good ingredients are used... BUT, it is not at all good value. Most every entre is around $30 (including the chicken). I took my wife and 2 kids there and our total bill was about $200 (this was for 1 entree each and 1 glass of wine each-- no apps or desserts). Pretty pricey for a place like this. We also found it, on a WEEK NIGHT even, to be extremely noisy, like off-the-charts-noisy. Too bad, because I like the fact that they spin vinyl records (could not hear it a bit over the din, and had to yell to talk). Now, the wine list. I first discovered Satchel's because of the wine (I am in the wine business) and they use good stems (Riedel) and have decent wines on their list, including BTG. However (again!)... CHANGE IT UP, FOLKS!! You've had the same wines by the glass for it seems years-- there is a tone of good stuff out there. If they had a Somm or a wine-savvy person, this would fix itself and you'd have wine specials. Also-- $18/glass for a Pinot Noir?? (admittedly, it is a very good Pinot, but still...). We found the service just "ok"-- correct, but not personal really, maybe a tad of an attitude.
Overall, disappointed and there are better places nearby that have better ambiance, service and much much better value.
Great staff and wonderful food. Went with a large group and everything was awesome
My favorite place in Denver!
Best neighborhood restaurant in Denver. Great service, amazing food and perfect ambiance.
The service and ambiance were great. It was at times really noisy. The food was good but the dessert and cappuccinos were disappointing. I will go back again for a do-over of both because it is a fun place.
The food and service are always great!
One of the best meals we have enjoyed in Denver. Very knowledgeable, friendly server. Initially I thought that the cost of wine by the glass was too steep ... until I tasted the Pinot Noir. Worth every penny for the first ... and second... glass!
We shall return ... soon.
Lacey was amazing, the food was great! Will go back soon!
Our favorite restaurant in Denver! Great food, wine and atmosphere. Perfect for a date night or celebration!
Excellent food in a neighborhood "pub" atmosphere. A bit noisy.
Great food, great service! High quality in a casual, inviting environment.
First time dining at Satchel’s and we were very pleased with everything about our dinner. The server pleasant and efficient. Well made drinks from the bar to enjoy and the food was delicious. The ambiance of the restaurant transports one to Europe, smaller, quaint places to dine. Plus the music is provided by albums and what an assortment.
Excellent food and service. Always good, but this was best we have had.
You’ll definitely want to have a reservation. Very small place with quirky decor. Excellent food with fairly high prices. We went early on a Tuesday evening, and it was still pretty full.
This was a sweet spot! The food was excellent. We came for restaurant week and if they were trying to show off they certainly did. I had a seafood pasta that had shrimp that were perfectly cooked, not the chewy over cooked style. All three course was delicious. I am glad we checked it out.
The food and ambiance was excellent.
Absolutely fantastic neighborhood spot. Embarrassed I never heard of it until my recent visit restaurant week... great experience all around. Kitchen is spot on. Good wine selection. Friendly staff. Nice job.
Food was great
The food is excellent ... but the noise level is deafening. Can’t even hear the wonderful vinyl on turntable music. Please install baffels on the ceiling or I can’t come back and sample another of the chef’s excellent creations.
Consistently well taken care of here - a great place to get dinner!
