Sasso Restaurant is an award winning restaurant. It was set up by Brian Ferguson, daughter Sara Ferguson and her then husband, Stefano Lancellotti who we very sadly lost in 2023. With approximately 100 seats including 2 function rooms there is space for everyone to enjoy our gourmet, freshly made Italian food and friendly efficient service. There is a wide range of choice on the menu with starters, home made pasta dishes in small and main course sizes, meat and fish main courses and a range of delicious home made desserts. The wine list is also well researched and mainly Italian.

    We’ve been to Sasso regularly over the past couple of years and this was by far our worst experience. We didn’t complain at the time as we had a guest with us. As usual, as we arrived for lunch, we were greeted and seated warmly. However, the food was poor: the bread was undercooked and wet inside; the aubergine starters had been reheated and were very dry and difficult to cut; the seabass was very overcooked and dry also. The bill, including two glasses of champagne, was over £130 for a disappointing and embarrassing light lunch to share with a guest. We have met a number of people who admit to not eating at Sasso anymore because of its inconsistency.

    As always wonderful, food was delicious and staff very attentive and friendly had a lovely table in the window to celebrate my nieces birthday they wished her happy birthday as we entered which was lovely

    Well located near street parking between the shops and the stray. Good standard Italian food. The menu doesn’t change and that’s an issue for regulars.

    Pleasant staff, agreeable atmosphere and decent food, apart from the oysters, which were very - and I do mean very - small. The prawn tagliatelle needed a little bit more sauce as it was a bit dry. Nice choice of desserts.

    There are plenty of new pretenders in town, but if you want fantastic Italian food from a long standing Harrogate business then you should come here. You won’t regret it

    What a very lovely evening! Not been for a few years, but wanted to try again and was not disappointed at all. The staff were very friendly on arrival, and service was immediate. Timing between courses was perfect too. The waiting staff were excellent and attentive throughout the evening, all with constant smiles which add to the ambiance and dining experience. The food was very nice indeed, well presented and perfectly cooked, albeit ever so slightly more generous portions would be nicer, but all in all a most enjoyable evening which I would happily recommend to anyone. Thank you Sasso’s.

    Sasso feels like a hidden gem to me. I have lived in the town and never been but i will definitely be going again! Food, service and ambience just great. I am coeliac and most of the dishes were possible for me. Other guests in the party all normal menu but enjoy great wine of which there was good choice and advice. Just a little picky point - we were sat right at the bottom of the restaurant in the far room and it was chilly tbh esp when the door to the kitchen opened and closed. There were spaces in the higher part of the restaurant but when asked we were unable to move to them for some reason....when i go again I would only sit on the top part of the restaurant. Overall though it was fantastic. Highly recommend
