You absolutely must try the squid ink pasta. It is amazing. It was recommended by the wait staff. My date said the tomato based pasta was only OK. The staff is very helpful and attentive, the atmosphere wonderful, and the location scenic. A great experience.
Food was delicious. Over all great dining experience.
We went to Sassi's to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday. We were given a private room with a fireplace. The room was beautiful - and we felt very well taken care of by all of the staff. The food was amazing. We are just sad that we will not be able to celebrate my milestone birthdays at Sassi's - unless we rent the whole space. :)
Beautiful outdoor setting near Pinnacle Peak. Overall the food was very good and the presentation was fine. The menu was somewhat restricted as to choices of entrées. Not many traditional Italian dishes. Wine selections were good with reasonable prices. One person in party ordered snapper that arrived not warm throughout. Overall a good experience with fine service.
First time diners, truly enjoyed the menu and ambiance . Will hate to see it close.
As always, my wife and I had a great time with great food and service.
Food was perfect , everything we ate , party of 4 !
Eat here before they close in June.
We love Sassi. The food, ambiance, everything is perfection. We are sad they are closing at the end of May.
I love Sassi Grill and am very sad it was sold. I will go again before it closes.
Too bad they are closing in the spring. The food and the view were amazing. Waiter forgot our dessert. Said he would come back with a menu but then brought the bill. It worked out. We ate very well and could do without the extra calories.
Fabulous! Spectacular view & creative fine dining!
50th Birthday. They gave us the private room. Everything was fabulous. Please please please don’t close in may. We ❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍
Phenomenal food, service and venue. We had an incredible time celebrating our engagement night. The view of the sunset, mountains and desert-sky is pretty tough to match elsewhere. Every table was full but the privacy was great and we felt like the only 2 in the building. Can't believe this is being sold!
Tom was really friendly and helpful. Food was really good. Visiting friends, one of whom is Italian and cooks traditional food was very impressed. Sad to see the restaurant closing.
It was for a friends birthday. It was a perfect place fit a celebration
It was fine. Not quite fine dining, but fine.
We went for Valentine's Day. The menu was amazing. We found the cuisine over the top. Disappointed that this landmark, favorite restaurant will close. Keep us posted where the chef/staff will relocate. Thank you, Stephen Plunkett!
the main dish was so salty we could not eat it. They offered to replace it but it was very disappointing.
Valentines evening dinner. Fantastic!! Great service from our waiter to the support staff. Excellent food! Expensive, but worth every dollar!
Overall very classy and elegant, all the meals from Apps to Dessert were outstanding...Service was impeccable
A wonderful Valentine’s meal with my wonderful husband!
Outstanding! Food, ambiance, service.
The best Italian restaurant in the state of Arizona. Too bad they are closing at the end of May.
My husband and I went to Sassi for my Birthday dinner and it was wonderful. We loved the octopus appetizer, the pastas were delicious, as was the duck. Romantic, beautiful ambiance and delicious food.
The setting was nice, but the menu and food was too unique for us. We shared the pork chop, which they recommended as the best we would ever taste, and while it was good, it was nowhere close to the best we have ever had. Overall, the ambiance was nice, but far too expensive for food that was too "special" and food selections that did not even sound appetizing.
Linguini & clams very bland
Pasta bolonese also bland and not appetizing at all
All Italian wine list
Will still miss it once they sell property
We live all the way in Mesa, it is worth our drive. Love it every time.
Both the food and service we're outstanding; it was a bit difficult to find the location and the rest was a wedding party using the entry courtyard, which was Abit confusing. BUT, once we got into Sassi, the experience was wonderful. We dined early, and we're pleased with the quiet window side table. The food was amazing; we shared an antipasto, shared a pasta primi, then had our own entree's. Everything was fantastic.
All we can say is we are sorry that SASSI will close and not open in another location.
The location sets the mood. Love the duck pate "jar". Friendly service, unusual menu choices.
Please notify me if the owner, after closing Sassi, sets up somewhere else. The venue is
