It’s been years since I’ve been to Sassafraz. However, I’d rather spend my money elsewhere. Hostess wasn’t friendly. Our server was very energetic and friendly, but it took over 25 minutes for him to take our drink order. He attended to another table before us, that was seated after us. Food was great. Coffee was cold, but dessert was delicious. Waiter did bring out a special treat for our birthday person celebrating. I asked for water, never received a refill during dinner. Ask for water again during dessert and we it received quickly. It was nice atmosphere, but I’d rather spend my $500 I spent on dinner at another restaurant.

Great recommendation from the front desk at the Kimpton, sat outside had great service from our waiter, great selection of wine by the glass, had the Zucchini carpaccio and the crevice to start and both had the duck nice and pink , the parsnip puree was delicious, we also ordered the Brussels sprouts fabulous. Great meal pleasant staff who let us eat at our pace, really enjoyed it

We were visiting from the USA and this was right in the neighborhood where we were staying. Ate in the cafe area. Nice cozy atmosphere. I liked that the first thing the server asked was about good allergies. I have celiac disease so it was appreciated, We shared the PEI oysters and were impressed that the horseradish was fresh grated. We lived in RI, the ocean state, and hadn’t experienced this. I had the lobster salad with avocado and my husband had the chicken dish. Both were excellent. I think my cocktail was phenomenal. Bourbon with vanilla and fig. Had to have a second.

Helpful staff helped picked best table for brunch, had originally chosen cafe but it seemed loud and busy, while dining room proved quieter near the skylight and falling water wall. Attentive waitress made lunch a pleasure for us both. My eggs Benedict was good if a bit salty, maybe someone doubled salted? I had asked for salt and pepper but certainly didn’t need either! The burger for my partner was good although more salad dressing was asked for and provided promptly. All in all a pleasant experience!
