Never a bad dish. This is not a place where you want to just have volume of food. This is a place where you appreciate outstanding quality of the food being prepared.

Date night with my fiancé. Cool ambiance both inside and on the patio. Interesting cocktail selection - we both enjoyed ours. And great sharable small plates menu that can transition from just a snack with drinks to a full on dinner. Some of our favorites - the miso black cod, the sticky rice, tempura cauliflower. Everything was excellent though.

We were late but they were still able to seat us - which was nice considering how busy they were on Friday night. The value is sizeable for a small plates restaurant so you definitely get more than expected. The sashimi is excellent - fresh, melts in your mouth. Service was surprisingly quick for a busy night. It’s pretty loud in there so maybe not ideal for a first date - unless you get outdoor seating on a warm night. Overall -really enjoyed!

The lamb chops and duck buns always delicious. Sushi is wonderful but specials can be $ and add up quickly!

This was a dinner for my wife’s birthday. She loves to come here so I made the reso as a surprise to her. We both shared all the same items from duck buns to sushi rolls and pork belly skewers. Well need less to say about 7hrs after our dinner and we both spent the early hours of the morning extremely sick from our meals.

Needless to say this has impacted our impression on this restaurant and the food. Not comfortable going back anytime soon.

It was our first time at SaSa and we were fortunate to have Louie as our waiter. He was awesome, great service, great recommendations, great wine, and great food. It was our anniversary and he made it perfect buy making sure we were taken care of.

Love Sasa just wish it wasn't so expensive. The food is great but the atmosphere is outstanding! I like the walnut creek and north main rolls. Their drinks are also good and we shared sake. Really great for special occasions or date night. I recommend the bar for the best service.

As usual the food was great, but the waiter was the bad thing for the evening. Wish I had my usual waiter who stopped by with the special for that evening. Imagine that, our waiter did not inform us about the special for the evening.

Went to Sasa's to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was a great "foodie" experience. Great dishes and excellent service. The bread-pudding is truly outstanding and we strongly recommend it. We will certainly be back to try some of the other dishes!!

Sasa consistently has the most creative, freshest sushi in the Diablo Valley. Never been disappointed as long as we’ve been going there, right from when they opened.
Service is also outstanding. From manager Jason to the wait staff, especially Louie, we are treated so well, professionally and knowledgeably. Can’t say enough good things about Sasa.

Excellent restaurant, one of my favorites in WC. The food is fresh, the drinks creative and tasty and the service is consistently good. They have a standing menu but also have different specials (both food and wine) each day. Choices for vegetarians, pescatarians and carnivores.

Highly recommended.

From the miso soup to the very fresh sushi, the food is many levels above your typical Japanese restaurant. We loved the vegetable appetizers like the eggplant dish and the tempura cauliflower. Service was very friendly amd attentive. We will go back again.

This was my second visit to Sasa and while my first visit (two weeks ago, on a Saturday night) was great, my second (Tuesday night) was a bit underwhelming and not worth the cost. The quality of the food preparation seemed to be vastly different- my Saturday night visit was excellent and this time, the salmon melt roll, which I'd also ordered on my previous visit, was not as beautifully presented and there was less salmon. I had to send back the sea bass as it was so overcooked, it was dry and had to be pried apart with a fork. A bit disappointed. If you're looking for excellent Japanese food, go for Ippuku or Kirala.

My favorite restaurant by far. Outstanding food, good service (most of the time), and wonderful ambiance. The prices are on the high side, particularly if you order Sake, but not too high compared with lesser Japanese restaurants.

Food is always amazing with service to match. I don't drink, but they seem to have a very extensive drink menu/full bar, and the whole ambiance of the place is very serene. The staff are highly attentive, but not to the point of overkill. They balance it perfectly.

The food itself is 5 stars no doubt. The ingredients, presentation, and fusion of various flavors are impeccable and i've never eaten anything I didn't enjoy as much as the next dish. You cannot go wrong no matter what you order.

Sasa is not cheap, but it's worth the money for a special occasion. Gift cards also make great gifts, so friends/family can splurge on high-end cuisine that they'd not normally treat themselves to.

Ordering can be difficult simply because everything on the menu always sounds great. The three dishes I look forward to the most are:

-Hamachi Kama (seems to be seasonal, but must-order when avail)
-Black cod (another must-have, no brainer. The most tender, flavorful cod you'll ever have)
-Garlic Shiro Maguro (white tuna nigiri that melts in your mouth like no other)
