This was a dinner for my wife’s birthday. She loves to come here so I made the reso as a surprise to her. We both shared all the same items from duck buns to sushi rolls and pork belly skewers. Well need less to say about 7hrs after our dinner and we both spent the early hours of the morning extremely sick from our meals.
Needless to say this has impacted our impression on this restaurant and the food. Not comfortable going back anytime soon.
Anniversary dinner. Excellent rolls. Would recommend for a date!
We love Sasa. We come here more than any other restaurant for special occasions. The food is healthy and delicious and the service and ambiance are wonderful. Highly recommended!!!!
My favorite restaurant!
Food was just so good last night. Been going to Sasa for years- but last nights food was just the best I’ve had.
The food and service were excellent. It was hard to carry on a conversation in the front, high top table area.
Food was fabulous, server had good personality and was knowledgeable with suggestions.
It was our first time at SaSa and we were fortunate to have Louie as our waiter. He was awesome, great service, great recommendations, great wine, and great food. It was our anniversary and he made it perfect buy making sure we were taken care of.
Great food and great service for our anniversary. A little pricey.
Love Sasa just wish it wasn't so expensive. The food is great but the atmosphere is outstanding! I like the walnut creek and north main rolls. Their drinks are also good and we shared sake. Really great for special occasions or date night. I recommend the bar for the best service.
Sasa is always a treat. Great food and freshest fish.
As usual the food was great, but the waiter was the bad thing for the evening. Wish I had my usual waiter who stopped by with the special for that evening. Imagine that, our waiter did not inform us about the special for the evening.
Waiter was very helpful and recommended a couple things that were very good. Very tasty food and the decor was perfect.
Sasa is one those unique dining experiences that stays with you long after the last bite. Love it!
Our server was amazing and the food is always high quality.
Went to Sasa's to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was a great "foodie" experience. Great dishes and excellent service. The bread-pudding is truly outstanding and we strongly recommend it. We will certainly be back to try some of the other dishes!!
Sasa consistently has the most creative, freshest sushi in the Diablo Valley. Never been disappointed as long as we’ve been going there, right from when they opened.
Service is also outstanding. From manager Jason to the wait staff, especially Louie, we are treated so well, professionally and knowledgeably. Can’t say enough good things about Sasa.
Great service , very consistent, good food, great for a date or just night out
Excellent restaurant, one of my favorites in WC. The food is fresh, the drinks creative and tasty and the service is consistently good. They have a standing menu but also have different specials (both food and wine) each day. Choices for vegetarians, pescatarians and carnivores.
We met friends but one was late. Waitress was outstanding. She brought us miso soup while we waited. Very nice decor and has an outside patio. We'll be back.
This is our go to place for date nights and special celebrations. Service is always terrific. We love to sit at the sushi bar.
From the miso soup to the very fresh sushi, the food is many levels above your typical Japanese restaurant. We loved the vegetable appetizers like the eggplant dish and the tempura cauliflower. Service was very friendly amd attentive. We will go back again.
The food was fresh and really good. The service was great.
Wonderful, as usual. Thank you.
Chairs were a bit uncomfortable
Would to see more vegetable side dishes
Food was excellent, so was the service
This was my second visit to Sasa and while my first visit (two weeks ago, on a Saturday night) was great, my second (Tuesday night) was a bit underwhelming and not worth the cost. The quality of the food preparation seemed to be vastly different- my Saturday night visit was excellent and this time, the salmon melt roll, which I'd also ordered on my previous visit, was not as beautifully presented and there was less salmon. I had to send back the sea bass as it was so overcooked, it was dry and had to be pried apart with a fork. A bit disappointed. If you're looking for excellent Japanese food, go for Ippuku or Kirala.
My favorite restaurant by far. Outstanding food, good service (most of the time), and wonderful ambiance. The prices are on the high side, particularly if you order Sake, but not too high compared with lesser Japanese restaurants.
Food is always amazing with service to match. I don't drink, but they seem to have a very extensive drink menu/full bar, and the whole ambiance of the place is very serene. The staff are highly attentive, but not to the point of overkill. They balance it perfectly.
The food itself is 5 stars no doubt. The ingredients, presentation, and fusion of various flavors are impeccable and i've never eaten anything I didn't enjoy as much as the next dish. You cannot go wrong no matter what you order.
Sasa is not cheap, but it's worth the money for a special occasion. Gift cards also make great gifts, so friends/family can splurge on high-end cuisine that they'd not normally treat themselves to.
Ordering can be difficult simply because everything on the menu always sounds great. The three dishes I look forward to the most are:
-Hamachi Kama (seems to be seasonal, but must-order when avail)
-Black cod (another must-have, no brainer. The most tender, flavorful cod you'll ever have)
-Garlic Shiro Maguro (white tuna nigiri that melts in your mouth like no other)
Delicious and consistent. Just wish they could be a little more free to create a roll or poke bowl that’s not on the menu.
Most disappointed. The fish was okay... especially the black cod. The dessert was horrible.
We were celebrating two birthdays and was very disappointing. Will not go again.
The sushi was great, and so were the drinks. The service was a little slow.
Great experience. Lou’s service was prompt and attentive as always without rushing us. Food was excellent. Host accommodated us with a great table, even though we arrived earlier than our reservation. Overall a great dining experience.
Always amazing! The food was exceptional and the ambiance is so nice. The service
is by far wonderful. The servers cannot do enough for you. Thank you so much.
We will be back!
Still our go to place in Walnut Creek for happy hour and dinner. This time and even on Valentines night it was awesome. Service and staff and food and everything were amazing. Thanks Jason, Mike and your terrific staff.
Food and service outstanding as usual, didn’t care for the loud, foul mouth woman bartender . Could hear her all the way across the room.
Nice atmosphere. Good service and special Valentine’s Day menu. Scrumptious baked oysters. Sushi slightly pricy but really well done
Amazing!!!! Delicious beautiful food and such great service. The ambiance is incredible too. Love this place.
Disappointed in the food. Seared ahi was anything but - over cooked and rubbery. The dish itself was so unappealing and set the tone for the rest of the meal. Overpriced for what it was. Won’t be going back or recommending.
