Sasa Ratings and Reviews
Japanese food is my favorite cuisine. I usually go to San Francisco (or Marin) for high-end sushi. I’m pleased to add a new one of my list – Sasa! The chef impressed my discriminating palate. Their Toro sashimi melts in your mouth. We also ordered citrus Hamachi, Hokkaido, and Sasa rolls. It was simply delicious!
This was the first time the black cod was slightly off. Overall everything else was delicious. Our server was not the friendliest and attentive. He did not offer suggestions without seeming put out. Must have been an off night for him or he may not enjoy his job.
As always, we’re never disappointed. We had cocktails and got involved in our conversation. The waiter checked on us but didn’t pressure us to order. We ordered dumpling, duck buns, pork belly lamp chops and sushi maki. Delicious and the wait staff were friendly and fun.
Absolutely love this restaurant. Best bento box. All the food is amazing. Service is great as well. Our server actually advised us not to order another dish until we had our bento boxes and boy was he right. By the time we had our soup, appetizer and bento box we were full
The atmosphere was amazing, service was great and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. Went there for our anniversary and had a blast. The food is obviously not cheap but definitely worth it. The bread pudding was spectacular. And the portions of sushi were pretty filling.
Sasa went the extra mile to make our anniversary celebration a special one. From a complimentary glass of champagne to "Happy Anniversary" printed on the menu, it was made even more special with our server, Justine. She gave suggestions without that pushiness that can come with some staff.
Great meal and even better service.
Dinner was as wonderful as I remember, been here a few times. The server on the other hand was not the best. We at some point asked "have you had enough to drink?"
I am sure she was asking did we wish to have another drink. Also we were asked "have you had enough to eat". We think the server needs some training in this area.
Sorry but we have had excellent service in e past, this time it was a miss. The person did not appear happy to be there and it came across.
One of my favorite restaurants in downtown Walnut Creek. I love this place. The food is delicious. The service is great. I love to eat in the main dinning area near the fountain or outside. I wish the back room had a little more ambiance, but it 's nice if you come to dine here with little ones.
i made an opentable reservation for the counter. got to the restaurant and no one was at the host station. one of the waiters (?) came over, and seated us outside, out on the end closest to the street. my wife said she didn't mind being outside, so i didn't say anything, but bummed that our host didn't recognize the reservation and at least give us the option.
sashimi was fresh. skewers are 'safe' - don't have that charcoal grill char that i was craving.
nice atmosphere inside with a large bar and some lounge style seating, good for Friday night gatherings.
Our group of 6 ordered 11 dishes plus two desserts and loved every single one. Everything was fresh with interesting flavors and textures. Also had an excellent cocktail. Highly recommend the tempura cauliflower, hamachi with citrus and peppercorns, duck with pancakes and terriyaki. Everything was great.
