Service was excellent except for the people dropping off the food. They didn't say which fish was which for the omikase sampler. Food was fresh and underwhelming. For accessibility and service I'll recommend it.
Sasa never disappoints. Excellent service from check in through closeout, the staff are friendly and attentive but never intrusive, they seem to magically appear when you need them, yet never too much.
The food is amazing - best rolls in the USA for me, great appetizer dishes, creative cocktails and the only place in the Bay Area where I can get Otoro regularly and it's always amazing.
The service was awful. Our waiter didn’t check on us at all.
Wonderful restaurant with great food and service. I throughly enjoyed myself and can’t wait to return!
Beautiful outdoor seating area with ceiling fans which is great on warm days. Food always fantastic (the Sasa roll and miso black cod are the best). Service is outstanding, every single time we go. I unfortunately saw a server having to deal with incredibly rude guests (barking at him to 'go get our water' after he seated them from the bar waiting area), but he handled it far better than I would have.
Yet again, Sasa beams bright! We were celebrating my wife's 55th birthday. I was able to book our favorite table, have a bottle of Prosecco chilled and ready at the table for our guests and the staff, was unequivocally attentive, cheerful and responsive. the food hit every note perfectly; savory, sweet, succulent, salty, dripping with umami and love. There's a reason we keep coming back here - uh, not true - there are a hundred reasons! We're so grateful they found a way to survive the pandemic (and we did order to-go meals several times during the shutdown). We'll be back (and back and back and back)!
We had an excellent dinner of shasimi, very fresh and tastey.
Had a reservation and my friend, who was on crutches. A couple came in without a reservation just before us and was given a table inside. We announced our reservation asked for a table inside or the outside patio in the shade. The tall tables wouldn’t work with her being on crutches. There were empty tables on the covered patio and asked for an empty table which was closest to the door when we walked over and were asked to wait there. We were told they were reserved. Made no sense, given we had reservations. Reminding them of that, we were told “let’s see what we can do.” While standing there on crutches, the host left and conferred with someone and they brought another two and sat them at the table we were standing at waiting for! Ultimately, we were seated on the covered patio and were told that we’d needed to be done by 7pm as there was a reservation. I was stunned. As a longtime loyal customer, I was appalled and embarrassed by the entire interaction. We TOO had a reservation AND an obvious physical limitation. What makes another later reservation a higher priority? So disappointing!
One of my favorite restaurants. Been waiting so long to return for amazing food. Such a disappointment. The lamb chops are to die for so when I noticed the price increased I wasn’t bothered because of how good they “were”. Oh yeah and it was my birthday. They were nothing like they used to be. Everything else was ok. But for spending $350 on dinner I’m not wanting to go back. Such a let down!!!!
Wonderful from walking in the door with reservation - sat right away by hostess - attentive server with great recommendations - wonderful and delicious experience.
Outstanding, as usual. Wonderful service, delicious sushi. This is one of favorite places because it is always a great experience.
As always, the food at Sasa was fresh, high-quality and deliciously prepared. The service was attentive and knowledgeable, and never intrusive.
We had a roll with soft shell crab in the middle of rice, covered with tun and salmon so expertly cut that we couldn’t see where one fish ended and the other began. Mouth-wateringly tender, perfect raw fish and the flavors wonderful.
Love the garlic rice and this time we had shrimp tempura with butter leaves - tasty, slightly sweet, but very yummy.
Good food, great staff, was running late for our reservation and called to notify the staff and host was so nice to accommodate us!!!
The reason for my less than stellar review is that when we were first seated at our table we were told that we only had an hour and a half to finish our dinner, since the table was reserved following us. What kind of customer greeting is this? We were there for a relaxed and enjoyable dinner, without having to check our watches. if this is their attitude toward their customers, we will not be returning to Sasa.
Our server was great ! The food was fabulous !
The nice ambience and good food did not make up for the terrible service.
THE BEST sushi I’ve ever eaten…. Best STAFF … great atmosphere. You absolutely need to have the SASA experience….. ask to sit in louies section….
Always a wonderful time at Sasa — our favorite Sushi spot, by far. The quality is fantastic, and the service is great.
We three friends were very happy with our dinner at Sasa. The food was excellent, and the service was good. They are understaffed, but the wait people were attentive and went all out to cover the room. We plan to attend again soon.
I was charged double for my dinner.
Need to resolve with the staff.
Came in for an impromptu early birthday dinner. The staff were EXCELLENT! Very appreciative of the green tea creme brulee birthday "cake". Thank you Sasa!
Enjoyed their outside dinning experience for the first time.
Service was excellent
Menu selections were as great as they were delicious!
This was for a dinner with two of my most important clients. I made the reservation weeks in advance and had higher expectations when I booked.
The food was good and we enjoyed it, but I expected more. Seemed relatively normal, just pricey sushi. Perhaps all I really paid for was ambiance.
Our server was just okay. Not very intuitive. I made several head nods for the check and made direct eye contact with him and he would look at me and just walk away.
He was also pretty awkward when we were trying to accommodate my clients’ toddler. He really didn’t check on us as much as I would have wanted and assumed that we weren’t ready to order every time he zipped past us.
Overall for a near $200 (with 20% tip) dinner for (3) I expected more upscale service and was disappointed.
I don’t think I would come back here. Top level atmosphere is one thing, but without the wow factor with their food, and intuitive, friendly service to back it up…it felt very very lackluster.
Back in person with the family, so great to see everyone again and enjoy WC’s best sushi at the restaurant. Nice outdoor seating
The patio was busy, but very comfortable. Food was great! Our third time there for dinner did not disappoint! Will be back again!
Every dish is a delight from the tempura cauliflower to the flat iron steak you cook yourself on a heated rock. Very fun atmosphere and excellent service. And don’t forget to leave room for the green tea crème brûlée
It was our anniversary. At least four people wished us happy anniversary multiple times and it was printed on our personalized menus. It made it very special and was an exceptional display of service and personal touch. Thank you!
Great to be back to a top local spot. Service, food, protocol all spot on.
Went second day after Covid "reopening" of indoor seating on a Wednesday, celebrating a 21st birthday. Seems as if we all had the same idea. Crowded but still lovely as ever. Perfect place for great sushi and Asian small plates. Pricey but worth it, especially for a special celebration. Sasa printed a menu w/ a Happy Birthday message and gave the birthday man of honor a green tea creme brulee w/ a candle. However, we also ordered the chocolate mousse and the donuts, which we all agreed are worth every calorie. Sasa's food is so good, we sometimes forget how good their desserts are. Service as good as always under still challenging times.
Good friendly service .
Enjoyed every savory dish with beautiful presentations.
Great attentive service by JB. Steak slices were cooked on a hot stone by each person. Unique and fun!
Complimentary green tea brûlée were served to celebrate two birthdays. First time back to Sasa since Covid.
We had a great time! Thank you!
Just a suggestion…need to do something with decor for the outside area ( formerly a parking lot). It looks very sterile,
Sat in the back room, very noisy with kitchen and then door to the outside. Fan kept going off
As always, we had a great at Sasa! Great food, service and ambiance! It’s a fabulous place to to reconnect with friends!
Food is amazing, service is consistently so so. The ricotta donuts are an absolute must and all the fish is super fresh. I keep coming back for the food but the staffing could use improvement to match the quality of the food.
Fantastic as usual. Just a but expensive.
All 5 of us enjoyed the good food and the experience. Our waitress was great!
Get the duck buns!
Attentive service, relaxing ambiance. Food was delicious.
Online reservations would only allow outdoor seating. While seated, we saw walk in customers offered indoor or outdoor dining. It was cold and windy. Took about 15 minutes to get someone to turn on an outdoor heater for us.
The busser began breaking down the outdoor seating and stacking chairs right next to us during our meal. Made us feel like we should just get dessert to go.
We had a wonderful server ! Great fatty tuna belly it just melts ! Awesome ambiance as well 😍
