It was our anniversary. At least four people wished us happy anniversary multiple times and it was printed on our personalized menus. It made it very special and was an exceptional display of service and personal touch. Thank you!
Great to be back to a top local spot. Service, food, protocol all spot on.
Went second day after Covid "reopening" of indoor seating on a Wednesday, celebrating a 21st birthday. Seems as if we all had the same idea. Crowded but still lovely as ever. Perfect place for great sushi and Asian small plates. Pricey but worth it, especially for a special celebration. Sasa printed a menu w/ a Happy Birthday message and gave the birthday man of honor a green tea creme brulee w/ a candle. However, we also ordered the chocolate mousse and the donuts, which we all agreed are worth every calorie. Sasa's food is so good, we sometimes forget how good their desserts are. Service as good as always under still challenging times.
Good friendly service .
Enjoyed every savory dish with beautiful presentations.
Great attentive service by JB. Steak slices were cooked on a hot stone by each person. Unique and fun!
Complimentary green tea brûlée were served to celebrate two birthdays. First time back to Sasa since Covid.
We had a great time! Thank you!
Just a suggestion…need to do something with decor for the outside area ( formerly a parking lot). It looks very sterile,
Sat in the back room, very noisy with kitchen and then door to the outside. Fan kept going off
As always, we had a great at Sasa! Great food, service and ambiance! It’s a fabulous place to to reconnect with friends!
Food is amazing, service is consistently so so. The ricotta donuts are an absolute must and all the fish is super fresh. I keep coming back for the food but the staffing could use improvement to match the quality of the food.
Fantastic as usual. Just a but expensive.
All 5 of us enjoyed the good food and the experience. Our waitress was great!
Get the duck buns!
Attentive service, relaxing ambiance. Food was delicious.
Online reservations would only allow outdoor seating. While seated, we saw walk in customers offered indoor or outdoor dining. It was cold and windy. Took about 15 minutes to get someone to turn on an outdoor heater for us.
The busser began breaking down the outdoor seating and stacking chairs right next to us during our meal. Made us feel like we should just get dessert to go.
We had a wonderful server ! Great fatty tuna belly it just melts ! Awesome ambiance as well 😍
Sasa is our go-to birthday spot. The sushi is just amazing, super fresh and tasty. We had the citrus hamachi, sashimi omakase, miso black cod, and a plethora of nigiri, including quail egg and salmon roe. Make sure you get the fresh wasabi - it’s a game changer. Yum!!
Food was delicious. Service was great. First time diners at Sasa but we will all be back for more, and can’t wait.
We love Sasa. It’s my favorite restaurant in Walnut Creek.
Fresh and delicious
Met my Brother and his new Lady for the first time. We wanted it to be at someplace we love and is classy. Great time, food and ambiance. Jason works hard to insure that happens when ever we come.
We had an amazing dinner at Sasa - our first date night after emerging from COVID lockdown. My husband has celiac and cannot have any gluten. Sasa’s menu helpfully lists gluten free options and they can also make many others gluten free. They even have tamari (gluten free soy sauce). Our server, Louis, was the BEST. He’s super knowledgeable about celiac disease and went out of his way to accommodate us.
The food was mostly excellent. The chicken meatballs were lackluster, but the Hakkaaido roll, garlic rice and black cod were phenomenal. My husband loved his nigiri, too. We loved it so much we’re taking my brother and SIL next weekend!
First time at Sasa. We really, really enjoyed the elevated level of cuisine. The sushi was amazing and everything was so beautifully presented. For sure, its a bit pricey, but worth it.
On of my "go-to" restaurant with superior food and service. Just plain nice folks and great food.
We love Louis, the waiter!
Great spot and great service. You won’t be disappointed.
Great food and service. It was an anniversary dinner and we received complimentary glass of champagne. Very nice touch! The rice bowls are delicious!
Sasa’s food is always good, but this was the worst service experience I have ever had dining there. The outside patio was freezing, and it took my asking four times and waiting 25 minutes for them to turn on the heaters near our table. They told us that they didn’t work and they were expensive so they didn’t repair them. Finally ours was lit. We saw our server rarely. $20 cocktails came in a scratched up glass and they arrived well after our food. In fact I had to ask twice and someone showed up ten minutes later with the cocktails. I am not a complainer or someone who doesn’t appreciate busy servers, but we were just completely forgotten and ignored even after asking multiple times for our food and drinks. It was really a bad experience.
Had reservations, but delayed about 5 or 10 minutes in getting seated. Then no one came to get our order for another 15 minutes. Had to ask someone else to find out waiter. Even after our order was placed, we still had to flat down help from management to get another order placed. It was a drawn out, frustrating experience. The food (sushi and beef skewers) weren’t so good, kind of mediocre. The bourbon was great though. Overall we were very disappointed, not a good value. It’s a lovely outdoor courtyard for dining though.
Amazing sushi, great waiter, great ambiance !! Very happy we went there for birthday dinner
Sasa is a wonderful place to eat with delicious food!
If you are looking for a fun ambience and good food, this place is amazing!
If you are looking for authentic Japanese sushi/food, this place is a fusion of "American sushi" and Japanese cuisine...
Sasa is consistently amazing. Always delicious and service is amazing.
Food was delicious as usual
The cocktails and the food were excellent. We loved the popcorn chicken (batter-fried, but not oil at all, and the chicken was moist and tender) and the Cauliflower Tempura which was perfect with the tempura batter not at all oil and not too thick, but just right. The cauliflowers were perfectly cooked, just slightly al dente. For our main entrees we had the California Roll sushi was perfect. For dessert, we had the Ricotta Donuts which were delicious. The service was attentive and friendly.
I was told, right after being seated, that we had to leave after 1.5 hours since the restaurant had a full evening
Sasa is one of normal go to spots for sushi. The food quality is amazing. Strongly recommend.
Always great food!
Good Foods, need to improve the service to pour sakes etc.
Under an umbrella on the former parking lot, some plants help, but not ideal. The food, however, is always superior.
We love Sasa! The quality of the fish is as good as in Japan!
The food as always is really really good. The service however was pretty sad. Twice I had to go find the waitress. She couldn’t have cared less about doing her job. The bus boys did most of the work for her you would think she’d wanna work a little harder since it was a $700 bill meal.
Great meal. Awesome separation for outside seating.
Food was fabulous, drinks were excellent, it was our servers first night and he did an outstanding job. We were seated in what I believe was an alley way so it was a bit noisy but felt safe and socially distanced.
