We have been coming to SASA for a few years, our son attends the college nearby. We were celebrating his graduation. An excellent evening. The food was outstanding as well as the service. We don't anticipate returning to Cleveland, we will miss this restaurant.
Overall the experience was good but not as good as we'd expected. The food was delicious, but most of the plates came out so slow. We waited over 35 minutes for some, and though the staff apologized for the delay (after 25 minutes), there was never any explanation given, nor was the restaurant crowded (on a Sunday night). Perhaps the kitchen and wait staff were both understaffed that night. The place is LOUD, even when not full.
Came out smelling like smoke
Not a good choice
What a fun time. There were absolutely no problems with the reservations; we were seated promptly in a very comfortable booth. The service was excellent and the food superb.
This is quite the unique place. The name says Sushi, but the menu is so much more. Most dishes are like tapas; smaller plates allowing a small group to experience many different tastes, styles, and flavors.
And the price ... very reasonable; $120 for four people, including alcohol and tip.
We tend to forget how interesting it is to eat at SASA. Their Asian version of tapas, combined with a full sushi selection, is unique in Cleveland if not the USA. Creativity is endless. Our seaweed salad included squid and rice crackers. The lobster miso bisque with a mini crab cake is to die for. Feiry tuna roll was afire with Siracha. Gyoza are made with Kobe beef. Try the sake sampler for an education.
Attentive servers, large selection of sake but average food
Outstanding food and service as usual. Great variety in menu. Outstanding sushi quality. A favorite of ours!
A great experiences as always. Wonderful dinner. The real gem here is the staff - I will often go here just for the staff and a sense of family.
Casual atmosphere, amazing food!
food was, as always, great and we sat for 3 hours and talked on a Friday night and they weren't upset.
Wonderful food and service. By far, Cleveland’s superior sushi option.
Very nice relax atmosphere baby like the surrounding his first time there I’m sure we will be back
Wonderful, helpful staff and great food. Really excellent cocktail menu. Lovely place for a date night, the menu is built for sharing.
Had another great experience at SASA. Introduced my sister and brother in law to this local gem. I like trying different dishes every visit. Their cocktails are quite lovely. As someone with Celiac disease it is always a pleasure being able to enjoy more than plain sushi at a restaurant. The poached pear dish is fantastic.
Go for the Fries. They are the best you ever ate. Many other good things - largely lots of Sushi and other Japanese influenced foods.
Food was excellent and service was great. I will be back for sure
Sasa, is always good. Best part is you can try several things as there are small portions
Our standby for great food and fabulous staff!! Sushi is delish!
Every visit to Sasa is great! Always excellent food, cocktails and service.
I am disappointed in the service I received. I made a reservation on opentable. When I arrived was told there are no tables. I went to bar and it took forever for service.
Enjoyed an evening out with my husband. We savored some tasty cocktails. Their sushi rolls are on the larger size. I was content after eating a tiger roll and a hand roll. The poached pear dessert is a amazing. On a side note, the waitress did have a list of options for those with gluten allergies.
We spent $120 and ordered a few sushi dishes as well as two main dinners. The sushi was not very good at all and the only good thing was the Korean beef dinner. Just overall we we're very disappointed for the price we expected far better.
Good food and drink
This is a great Neighborhood Restaurant. An excellent choice of menu items. Good wine list. And the prices are really good as well. Best french fries in the world!
Eli did a nice job
I rarely do dining reviews and I eat out constantly across the globe. Sasa is a huge go to for our family, at least 2x per month. The food and service is always outstanding. Great place to go before catching a movie at Shaker Square. Awesome for take out too! The hot rock is always a hit. Sushi is excellent. We left a glove last time and they immediatly contacted me so I could retrieve it before having left Shaker Square.
Scott Kim and his team might make the best sushi on the East side. I love their SASA fries and
SASA fire roll, which does sizzle before you eat it. Great place to warm up on frigid winter evening!
The food items we had have element of sugar in most of it, it needs to be more authentic. The menu selection have several choices and also has good seafood options. The service was great with several efforts made to make good recommendations.
Great food and oustanding service. A good place for a meal on the east side of Cleveland.
The service at SASA was great. The food is mediocre and costly. My kids love it.
Theee stars overall. Layout is not optimal, and we had a table near the door on a bitter cold night and froze. Menu is interesting, pan-Asian with some twists on American standards. Nice wait staff.
Perfect!! As usual. New menu is wonderful. Toro special roll was perfection.
We went to Sasa for my daughter's 18th birthday party. We were a big group, but they accommodated us without complaint. The food and the service were both excellent. We couldn't have been more pleased. Thanks for a great party, Sasa!
The food was delicious. I had they meatballs and spicy dynamite rolls and since that day I buy them weekly.
Our server, Kayla, was attentive, personable and well versed with the menu and suggested several delicious appetizers and small plates!
The four of us enjoyed a variety of dishes, from sushi to hot pot to desserts. Every item we had was made with high quality ingredients and was well prepared. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive.
Love this restaurant and the owners.
We had a delicious meal and Sasa went above and beyond to take care of us. We had two separate tables and both were well taken care of with excellent service. We will return often.
One of the best spots on the East side for fusion Asian!
Excellent sushi dining experience! Sasa fries are a must and if you enjoy some spice in your meal with an excellent presentation the SASA fire roll is great. Overall expierence was nice however if your looking for a boring sushi experience (quiet/no conversations) then SASA is not for you!
