SASA Ratings and Reviews
Excellent sushi dining experience! Sasa fries are a must and if you enjoy some spice in your meal with an excellent presentation the SASA fire roll is great. Overall expierence was nice however if your looking for a boring sushi experience (quiet/no conversations) then SASA is not for you!
This was my first time to Sasa, and I will be a return visitor. The menu has items that aren't on most menus, and the food was excellent. I highly recommend the Kobe beef gyoza, SASA fire roll, and Vietnamese roll, the oyster fry, along with the Miso lobster bisque. If you like creme brulee, you will love their trio (regular creme brulee, green tea creme brulee, and chocolate creme brulee). The whole squid was good, as the sauce was wonderful, and it was grilled to perfection. The only disappointment was the 5 spice lamb rib. Lamb is a mild, tender meat. This lamb was obviously grass-fed, as the meat had a stronger flavor intensity, primarily a grassy flavor (that’s the actual term). However, that wasn't the problem. The lamb was far over-cooked, and the 5 spice marinade overpowered the lamb, and tasted burnt. This was just one item in an otherwise outstanding dinner. The restaurant is loud, modern, clean, and the tables are close. This is a fun, wonderful place to have a great meal.
We dine at Casa at least 2-3 times per month and have never been disappointed. The food is fresh and well prepared, sake menu is fantastic and then of course there is the staff. The manager is one of the tops in the NE Ohio area and she treats us like family when we visit. We love Sasa - give it a try - you'll become regulars.
I am never disappointed. The sushi melts in your mouth. I think it is the best around here. The chefs wave and smile; the waiters are helpful without being bothersome. I always choose my favorite nigiri sushi and we all have miso soup and the cold steamed spinach, which is tiny and delicious, to get some green vegetables in there. I could do without the sports TV that's on all the time, but overall I LOVE going to Sasa.
A repeat “offender” who brought 3 new people. I keep reordering the entree I got the first time. I still love the vegan domburi. One guest ordered it with the spicy beans on the side (she liked the dish but the beans were too spicy). Another ordered a shrimp entree which they sautéed since she doesn’t do fried and was very pleased. The third had soup, skewers and dumplings and thought all were tasty. I am a big fan.
In a world where most restaurants, even the good ones, are serving derivative, tried and true dishes, Sasa stands out. Unique Asian fusion dishes are well-conceived and prepared, and beautifully presented. The eclectic menu of appetizers, small plates and full entrees let's you browse and explore. Our server encouraged us to order a couple dishes first, then more later if we wanted. We found the food delicious and innovative and will definitely go back!
SASA has been a favorite of ours for a couple of years, and we are never disappointed. Our family includes omnivores, vegetarians and vegans. All of them have always been happy with the menu. Owners Scott and Brenda are friendly, personable and professional. The staff is typically terrific.
The sushi at Sasa is tasty, but overall there is much better sushi in/around Cleveland for a lower cost. The fun is in the tapas and small plates that you can order and share. I wish they would expand that menu and leave the sushi to those that know better. Salmon sashimi should never be tough.
Also, the temperature in this restaurant was unbearable. After resorting to ponytails and removing all blazers/jackets we finally had to leave before we were even finished eating because it was uncomfortably hot in there. They insisted the AC was working, but was a "new system" that needed time to adjust. I think we should have been warned as we had a reservation. It was seriously difficult to sit in there.
SASA A blessing in our neighborhood. You never fail to give us a great meal, great choices of Sake or wine, and we are greeted like family. We had a lovely evening, a wonderful choice of plates and enjoyed a beautiful bottle of Cava that was very reasonable. Love having you close by and highly recommend this restaurant.
