Sarpa Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We made our reservation online and it was confirmed back to us, but they couldn’t find it when we arrived. We arrived 4 people instead of 2 but they were very accommodating. The food was excellent and the ambiance was great. It is a bit pricey so we would likely keep it for special occasions. Very nice place to dine.
We arrived for our reservation and were told to wait. There really is no place to wait unless you sit on those ridiculous high chairs. So we wanted to wait at the bar. That couldn’t happen because of a private function.
The service was very poor. Again sat down and waiting again for someone to take our drink order. Finally she shows up and explains nothing about the specials just would we like water. The menu was nice but the service was uneventful and the lacked knowledge.
The food was great, interesting choices and the service was absolutely outstanding - they were able to accomodate us with oysters. The overall ambience is a bit noisy and they did not have any music playing initially so we could hear everyone's conversations.
A reservation for lunch wasn't necessary but still a good idea. Tee restaurant was smaller than expected but the Romaine Salad and Chicken was the best I have tasted. My wife enjoyed the fish and soup feature of the day. Unlike the other reviews the portions were a great size and we didn't need desert. IT was more money than I expected but the food, staff and ambiance were good. Not a place we could afford to go to regularly. We will save it for a repeat visit for a special occasion.
We were disappointed in the fact that we were celebrating a birthday, once we finished eating we were asked to leave as there were 20 other customers waiting for tables. So we felt we were rushed. We spent over $500 for 4 people and being rushed out of a restaurant like that is very rude. We will not return as this is not the 1st time this has happened. Which is why it took us a while to return, but obviously this service hasn't changed. Our waitress was very attentive to our needs throughout the meal, it wasn't her that asked us to leave.
Nice restaurant. Very overpriced. have eaten in fine dinning restaurants that had a little more substance to your meal. It was dinner not lunch. 6 people to share finger length bread. Seriously there should have been two plates. For the price you pay for dinner you couldn't afford another plate of bread...
It is a very nice place we sat in corner to close to other tables. Four people were seated next to us after us. Even though our order was taken first they got their dinners first, table cleaned off first , serviced first all evening long. not sure why that happened. but I still left them a very good tip!!
As usual, a very enjoyable evening at Sarpa. We shared the charcuterie plates - great selection of delicious items. I had my fave grilled lamb chops lamb with the amazing cannellini beans. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. Sarpa is by far my favourite restaurant in the Newmarket/Aurora/Oak Ridges are.
I was lucky to find this place when searching for a vegetarian-friendly restaurant in an area my family was going to be travelling through on a busy Saturday. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. The menu has such variety, and the quality of the ingredients is wonderful; everything we ate was delicious and perfectly-prepared. There were so many yummy options for the one vegetarian in our party, and they seemed to be dishes that just happened to not contain meat (rather than some weird item just thrown together to give veg people something to order). We will definitely be returning to this wonderful restaurant - it will be worth the drive ! We were hot and tired and very casually dressed and the staff did not blink an eye at that - we felt so welcome.
Food was excellent on both occasions we came. Bus boys need more training as they never gave the right dish to the right person. Also they should know what the dishes are as well.
Waitress brought out 2 wrong entrees causing 2 of us to eat later than our party of 4.
However she bounced back through her kindness in free wine and dessert. This is why we will come back . Just a little too loud but décor and ambiance are stellar.
I have been here a few times and everything was great. Friday night, however, the server seemed very new and gave us an appetizer with added bread crumbs ( we are gluten free) and had specially requested no bread crumbs. When the meals arrived she had placed the order incorrectly so one of us did not get the dinner until all the others had finished. This server avoided our table until it was time to order coffee and dessert. Very unprofessional. I am disappointed with the level of service. The food, as usual was delicious.
