Sarento's Italian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Meals everywhere in Wisconsin Dells are pricey and with Sarento's you can go fine dining or keep it reasonable and get way better quality food. Sarento's has authentic italian food and a great wine list, but it is still family friendly as well. It's off the main strip so it's less busy and a bit quieter. Service is excellent. Love the outside seating.
Overall food was delicious. Service is always very good at all of my previous dining experiences here. However a manager was very rude to a staff member asking them why they were seating us in an area, and attempted to have them seat us in a different area. When we spoke up about wanting to sit where she was seating us, manager rolled his eyes. Which was very rude. Other than that the wait staff, food, and price was wonderful for a date out.
They Never received the Open Table reservation. The hostess was not accommodating and placed us at a table by the door and by the open walk area. The hostess(es) do not greet you at all, they just ask 'how many?' and do not have the time of day for you, especially when you request/reserved a quiet booth and she purposely sits you at a table that is the complete opposite. The seafood cannolini is Way over priced! Wow. My husband got a 10" pizza with three ingredients and it was $19!!! And the sausage on the pizza is Extremely Spicey! Yow! It will be a long time until we go there again. You need to have a coupon to make it worth it.
The night started off great, then we decided to come here to eat.... Worst mistake of the night! We made our reservation two days early and when we showed up 10 minutes early to check in, the hostess said they had overbooked reservations for that night so it would be a short wait. No big deal i figured, these things happen, however after 45 minutes of waiting i noticed she had seated several walk in customers after we had checked in so i went up and asked her what was going on. Her reply to me was that I must not have checked in with her when we got there so I would just have to wait until another table was ready. All in all we were seated 1 hour and 10 minutes after our reserved time so we missed the rest of our evening plans. The service by the waitstaff and the food was all very very good. Topnotch i would say.
Visited On New Years Eve... good vibe...servers were hustling but our food was very slow... but not unexpected... got a discount with out asking not touch.. bar had good crowd with free guitar guy very talented... bartenders well trained and make good drinks.. bar has a design flaw with low counter seating that makes it uncomfortable - to stand behind someone sitting on a chair...
We visit Sorrento's about once a month...Solid food and service at a fair price...
I requested a table out of the way and was seated across from the bar. Either the hostess didn't bother to read my Open table info (so is this really the best way to make reservations?)
They were not busy probably wanted to conserve space. Meal was OK, salad average, entree satisfactory - but nothing special. Live music on Thursdays, (day we went) and it was loud so people had to talk louder to be heard. Would have been nice "background" music if volume was turned down. Not sure I'd go back, maybe I'd try the pizza.
We visited for our anniversary and normally have a good dining experience. However, this was not a good dining experience on this night. The excuse we kept hearing was "we are very busy tonight". Well, we had been there on Saturday nights before and it appeared busier than tonight but the service was fine. We ordered an appetizer that never arrived. We asked for more bread sticks to have during the entree which never arrived. Our water glasses went empty. The server provided a complimentary ice cream sundae which was very redeeming. Normally I would highly recommend this restaurant, but just had a bad dining experience on this night.
Excellent food - service was a little bit less than what we have had in the past. Our waitress did not seem as attentive as they have in the past also. I would have had a second glass of wine - but she never came around to ask or how the meal was. She seemed more interested in the other tables than ours - so was disappointed. It was my husband and I anniversary - and we usually eat there every September and maybe once through the year. Will definitely go back.
It was, it is and it will be our favorite restaurant in the Dells. Love the Chicken Marsala and love their great attitude towards customers.
It was our 6 and a half anniversary and we stopped by just to have a good time. And we did, exceptional service and great atmosphere. Will be back in March again :)
Sarento's is one of the nicer restaurants in the Dells, a bit pricey though for the amount of food that one gets but that is the Dells. It was hot, fresh and tasty.
The service is almost overattentive especially with the water we literally would take a sip or two of water and it was refilled. We don't like a busy table, we like a well timed meal with one or two people doing the service or waiting, not four or five.
The music was a bit too loud for the 4 of us.
Overall it was good, but obviously not a direct fit for our liking.
The breadsticks were the best part of the meal. My brother thought he should of got more than seven Mot sticks for $7.95 and he's right. I had the three cheese ravoili and felt that it was a little soupy. Too many servers watching us during dinner. Staff was very friendly.
Chicken Parmisan was nothing special. Blackened Mahi Mahi was excellent and the asparagus was perfectly prepared al dente. Desserts were excellent. Table by the exit door is a bit cold and remote and barren of any ambiance, especially in the winter. Service was top-notch. We would definitely go back again but choose a different table the next time.
This was not a good meal. The alfredo sauce tasted like it was from a jar, the risotto was totally gummy, the caprese salad was overdressed in balsamic reduction making it practically inedible, plus, it only had 4 tiny slices of roma tomato on it. Oh, but the breadsticks were good. In addition, I guess the place was a lot busier than they had anticipated, so the wait staff was bustling and no one was cleaning tables. When we were first seated, a table next to ours was dirty, and there must have been a small child seated there, as evidenced by the high chair and the terrible mess in the surrounding area. By the time we had finished our meal and got up to leave, it had not been cleaned up. We will definitely not return to Sarentos. EVER
After debating which of the Wilderness Lodge restaurants to try, we decided on Sarento's. I'm glad we did. The service was as good, and with some instruction, they prepared my steak nicely charred on the outside and rare on the inside (it was a fun lesson on Pittsburg style or Black & Blue style which they never heard of), so I was happy. My sister had the Pizza Margarita and liked it. Mom liked her medium-prepared steak, too. So, overall it was good. As long as they were happy, I was happy. The only thing is that on Open Table I noted that it was my sister's birthday, but no one came by to wish her a happy birthday or bring a treat with a candle...that was too bad, but, well...
Overrated. I found it to be equivalent to an Olive Garden in food and ambience. I actually like Olive Garden so that is not all bad, but I had a much higher expectation. The tables are sardined into the dining area. For these prices I would prefer not to be able to hear my neighbors dinner conversation.
