Disappointing. Knew the food wouldn’t be great, and it really wasn’t. Hoped the classic service and location would be worth the trip. Is wasn’t. Time to move on.

I always love dining at Sardi's! I have many happy memories. I once had a lovely chat with mMr. Sardi in the 1970's.

Great date dinner with my husband after lots of fun in the city. Started in the bar which was lively and the bartender was friendly and efficient. Our service at the table was top notch. We ordered the prix fixe menu and truly enjoyed the choices, portions and overall quality. And their creme brûlée is first rate.

We always go to Sardi's when going to the theater...very convenient. Food always good and the bartender is so friendly and drinks are delicious.
Very accommodating place. We go every April for our wedding anniversary and always enjoy! We would recommend it highly.

We had a reservation and were motioned in with everyone else that did not have a reservation up stairs. Initially we were stuck in a dark back corner where the back of the bench was broken. There was no problem in moving- I soon realized that we were all stuck around the wall so that a large tour group could sit in the main dining area. It became very noisy.
I have eaten at Sardi's since I was child and have never been sent upstairs- totally missing the Sardi's vibe. The food was fine but nothing special. They were all concentrating on serving the large group that came in.
Felt like I had been herded. Will not be back.

Overrated restaurant. Food was mediocre at best and way over priced. Went for dinner for 3, meals were 10 oz sirloin, scallop dish, and salmon. Three quarter sized scallops for $48 with a side of reheated frozen veggies, sirloin looked smaller than 10oz, tasted like cooked from frozen, priced at about $40. The salmon was ok definitely best tasting. Three dinners, three glasses of wine and one creme brulee dessert came to $250+, before tip. This place is only good for historical purposes, don't bother going for a good meal.

Sorry Sardi's

Sorry.....Service, my food (my friend's was good), Service (yes, mentioning again.....it was that bad!), and Sorry that we went!

Sardi's did not live up to the legend and the expectations.....Very disappointing. Don't go....save your money. And, should you have any special needs, they simply do not care!

Food was good. Price good considering location. Very convenient and perfect for pre or post theater dining. Fun looking at caricatures; difficulty figure some of them out.

Saudi's continues to live up to it's longstanding reputation as a wonderful place to go for an after-theater drink or meal. Though famous, it is not the touristy place that other Broadway restaurants have become. The old-fashioned ambiance and courtly service is much as it has often been, even though patrons show up in very casual attire. Food was very good, predictable, at a reasonable price for the area. It was fun to take my adult children to a place I loved as a child.

The food is very good, the waiters are attentive and friendly. You never know who you will see there...All the big stars have gone there and continue to. Last time I sat next to comedian Pat Cooper who is very well known...from Ed Sullivan to Jerry Seinfeld's shows. It's a fun spot and a must to do whenever I'm in little old New York.

My expectations were slightly low. I would have thought that a place like this that caters mostly to tourists would not try very hard. The food—if a bit expensive for what you get—was good and the service stellar. Nice atmosphere. I’d take an out of town visitor here.

It had been years since I last visited. Was told it was "over" for Sardi's but figured I would give it a shot and take my daughter. Bad decision. Place was dead. Food average (I'm being kind) and price was ridiculous. I don't mind paying "NY prices" for quality but I could have gotten better food in a TGIF. I go to a lot of NY restaurants for both business and pleasure. This experience was near or at the bottom. #neveragain

Located in the heart of theater district, Sardi’s has many wonderful dishes to choose from. Great food, warm, friendly service and easy to get to any show. I’d highly recommend Sardi’s as a pre/post theatre destination. You won’t be disappointed!

Went to Sardi’s after the theater. It’s famous sure, but the food is over priced, somewhat understood with its location. The food however is just mediocre. Nothing special at all. I’m not even a foodie, but it’s quality wasn’t above any national chain. If you want to go just understand you are paying for it’s location and because some famous people ate there. If you hold the expectation that the food is nothing special then you won’t be disappointed.

I find Sardi's very convenient for pre-theatre and the food is great but this time we had to wait almost 20 minutes before the waiter appeared to take our drinks order. I asked another waiter where was our waiter and he said "he's busy doing something else". Like what?

Went to Sardis before a show, as one does. It was exactly what you would expect. Nothing amazing, but very solid. Salad was good. steak tartare was actually quite nice. Service was quick and polite. Reasonably good cocktail. All in, they exceeded expectations.

Had a great meal at Sardi’s after seeing School of Rock. Our table started with prosciutto, and a salad. The salad was super fresh and had a delicious sherry vinaigrette. for mains we had the pork chop, and chicken with mushroom sauce, mash and green beans and it was really delicious. Desserts (creme brûlée and meringue, strawberry and cream cake) weren’t as good as the starters and mains but solid. Would definitely go again.

Sardi's is a fun enough destination for theatre fans, and I wanted to let my son experience it once. The food is ridiculously overpriced and of below-average quality. The waiter we had was unbelievably rude. This was likely my last time there.
