Wonderful- I was worried since it's in such a tourist spot and has been around so long it wouldn't be good but we were pleasantly surprised!
We had a 5pm reservation through open table which I got that morning. 44th street was a mad house with people getting out of matinees as well as people trying to dine before the 8pm, like us.
We have a severe shellfish allergy and vegetarians in our group and the server was attentive and accommodating.
(We've often found in tourist areas the staff gets super annoyed about this, but they were very nice and reassuring). There are interesting entrees as well as traditional and reliable spaghetti and tomato sauce. Family atmosphere but still felt upscale and fancy.
Great dessert too. It’s expensive but you should expect that everywhere in Times Square.
Excellent Pre-show dinner and drinks!
We came to Sardi’s for my daughter’s birthday before seeing a Broadway show. Our early afternoon visit was moderately busy yet the service was very attentive. The caricatures were great fun to discuss over our lunch. Our meals were wonderful. The salmon with ginger sweet potatoes was a big hit. The baked Alaska for dessert was a showstopper. Everyone in the restaurant stopped to watch the show. The menu says it serves two people but it suits four best. Our waiter brought a tiramisu with a candle for my daughter’s birthday which surprised and delighted her. Our visit will be a wonderful family memory.
We always love coming to Sardi's- been a while but we were so glad we came on this NYC visit!
Sardi's. Just perfect as always.
Wonderful service and food was excellent. I have been to Sardi’s many times and have never been disappointed.
Delicious food and friendly service.
Disappointed that signatures on caricatures sometimes difficult to read.
Bad day for waiter, ignored us, didn’t ask us for dessert, added drink from table next to us to our bill,We asked for more bread- nope. Will warn anyone about drawbacks.
Dining at Sardi's is always special. My husband and I attended a Broadway matinee of The Girl From North Country, enjoyed a delicious dinner at Sardi's, and attended an evening Broadway performance of Jagged Little Pill. A fabulous and delicious day.
Sardi's is Sardi's. And we hope it NEVER changes!
Arrives @ 12:30 for our reservation- one table in restaurant. The interior & ambience very worn & dreary. The staff seemed tired and disinterested.
It took 45 minutes for our food to arrive- burgers & salad. I get a better salad at the grocery store in the To Go pre packaged area.
We would have had a better meal at corner pretzel stand.
The only server that was any good was the busser assigned to our table. He was very helpful every time we flagged him down. Otherwise, the service was AWFUL. The waiter came to our table once the entire dinner. Never checked on us. We sat with empty drinks for most of the meal and never got the opportunity to order more. We waited 45 minutes between apps and entrees. The cheese plate looked cheap and was served with nothing. All the food was super bland. Risotto was way undercooked. Overall, such a bummer. We spent a good amount of money and left with such a horrible taste in our mouth. Would not recommend.
We arrived at 5:30 and were promptly seated. Our waiter was very attentive. Our only complaint was that we ordered 3 different entries from their specials menu, only to learn that they were out of all 3. This would be understandable late in the evening, but not at 5:30.
Enjoyed the experience before going to see a play. Made the evening memorable!
It's a iconic spot, but the food was nothing to be desired and the overall establishment is in need of a face lift.
Was exactly what we thought it would be a wonderful Broadway dinner before the theater night out.
I ordered the chicken and it was very dry and not very appetizing. Way over priced for what we ate.
Flavors could have been better.
We enjoyed our meals I had the salmon which was delicious The service was wonderful which made for a very special evening
Very convenient place to have a lovely dinner before Theater or after. The service is excellent, the food is very good, and the prices are reasonable.
Wow. Just wow. It is like a time capsule back to an era when real
Service mattered. Just an outstanding experience. We took our 23 year old son with us and it was his first experience with real old waiters and how things are supposed to be at a fine dining restaurant.
Love it such as good atmosphere would definitely coming back !
Is it me, or is Sardi’s slipping a little?
The food is still delicious and main dining room is still the best place to eat while soaking up Broadway ambiance, but...
Our dinner felt rushed - we were bombarded with bread, menus and waitstaff the minute we sat down and we were badgered until we ordered. That may be appropriate for reservations close to curtain time, but we specifically made an early reservation to allow for sufficient time to digest our dinner.
There is no longer a wine list! Seriously? A little card with 10 wines to choose from! Seriously?
Absolutely loved it. Food and service were excellent.
Was very disappointed in this restaurant!! The food was mediocre at best. We went there for my birthday needless to say they were very overpriced. Food had no taste and over priced. I pick this place because I saw the menu on line. Unfortunately the menu on line and in restaurant different. I asked if they could make it they said no!! Total waste.
Sardi’s is always a great place to dine before a broadway show. ❤️
The staff is sublime. A must visit when in NY and visiting the theater district.
Gone for my husbands 40th birthday after a show. There is a reason this restaurant has the reputation it has and it is well deserved. Service was pleasant and fast. Every plate was lovely. Honestly no complaints
Service was absolutely excellent. Our server Chris and additional wait staff were attentive and kind.
crab cake app and salmon entree were delicious.
I'll definitely go back
Sardi’s is always good. The food ranges between good and outstanding but comes out mostly excellent.
our server was awesome. Paced our drinks and meals perfectly!
Great atmosphere and superb wait staff. Good food choices for lunch and right in the heart of NYC.
Had another wonderful visit! Food and service is fabulous. Looking forward to coming again!
Classy and quick service comfortable and clean. Scenic and warm. Would recommend
Food was very good and service was excellent, however, they need to update it a little.
We dine here quite often and have never experienced bad service or a bad meal. The staff is always welcoming, the bar is delightful place for drinks and always a great place to meet interesting people
The wait staff was superb and helpful with menu choices for my wife and 3 kiddos. He was very versed in the menu and was a pleasure to deal with. Food came out hot and ready to eat. The kids loved their cheeseburgers and ice cream. My wife enjoyed her meatballs over the buccitini. The sauce was very tasty and flavorful. My salmon was cooked perfectly. The sweet potato puree and potatoes with it went well. My wife loved the creme brulee as it was a delicious custard for desert.
Love Sardi’s my favorite dish is always the cannelloni!!
Pre-theater dinner was excellent and moderately priced. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
The service was excellent. They were attentive and seamless at the same time. The food is always excellent however the service makes the difference.
