My mother in laws 70th birthday trip to NYC. Dinner was very good and family friendly atmosphere.
Mixed. Classic crepe, very good as appetizer. Crab cakes very good. Meatball:pasta dish, average at best. Minestrone, full of veggies but surprisingly not flavorful. Sirloin, undercooked (asked for medium but got a solid medium rare, some might consider rare), but bigger issue is that it was bland. Wine by the glass options, below average. Service was attentive.
I guess I’m glad we had an opp to take our family to the classic Sardi’s and enjoyed the caricatures, but would absolutely not come back. I’m sure there’s other good things in the menu, but we wouldn’t venture back, especially for the price. Not a good value at all for, on the whole, an average food experience.
I went here for my anniversary two nights ago. We had a late night reservation and arrived early. The seated us with no problem. The food was great, the waiter was so nice and attentive. The place has a very cool vibe to it. I can’t wait to go back.
Service was a little slow but friendly. The place was pretty empty at 8:30 on Saturday night. The cheese board was excellent. I ordered the salmon special with ginger sweet potatoes which was delicious. The spinach was tasty but a little cold. My companion ordered spaghetti & meatballs and was not overly impressed. Wine list seemed small for anyone looking for low to mid budget wine. The atmosphere was fun- great music (Sinatra) and looking at the famous pictures in the wall was interesting.
We had someone visiting from out of state. It is one of those must visit places. The food and staff were very good.
Great food. Impeccable service. A true classic.
We are visitors to New York and love Sardi’s for its history, amazing food and drink, and old school superb service. It never disappoints.
I did recommend it to a friend. That's who I was there with.
The food was good and service was attentive.
what I liked best was the fact that we were left to chat for a long time, long after the room emptied out. No one rushed us or hinted that we should get a move on. This was great as I was with friends I see rarely and we had lots to catch up on.
I'll definitely be back, especially to see the caricature of Kermit!
We had people visiting NYC and this is a perfect restaurant to take people too! I always recommend it!
Diego provided outstanding service
Go for the history. Not for the food. Totally mediocre but that isn’t why you go anyway, right?
Wonderful service and food great atmosphere most enjoyable dinner
Great time every time.
It was a last minute decision to get a light dinner before the theatre. Sardis was a perfect location, right across from the Shubert Theatre. We were able to relax, have wine and split a delicious Sardis special appetizer. Couldn’t have asked for more!
Waiter was a bit snooty, which I didn’t care for. I had the crab cakes and my girlfriends had the scallops. Both were prepared well.
Aprés theatre dining at it's best - iconic location and appearance. Top service and menu.
Food is not the best, but fun to sit among the caricatures.
My evening at Sardi's was excellent. It was warm and inviting. The service and the people were on point. My water glass was never empty. My waiter was attentive. My food was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy and perfect for my 'date night'. I will definitely recommend to a friend.
Only complaint is that the booth section was tight fitting. The party next to us had some issues getting into their table and then getting out again. The table areas did not seem to have this issue. If you don't sit in the booth section you'll be fine. Otherwise the food was great and the service was wonderful.
Food was good- service was excellent.
Exelente atencion de Diego (mendocino argentino !)
La comida la super recomiendo. Pedimos el pollo con arroz para las nenas que si bien no estaba en la carta nos lo trajeron y muy rico. Comida sana a buen precio. Muy servido
Feel like an old school celebrity at Sardi’s, where the food and service are both top notch. Check out all the Broadway caricatures on the wall while you dine. Or sit in the upstairs bar for a birds-eye view of Broadway.
We had a really nice time. We were promptly greeted by our host and taken to our table right away. The service staff were outstanding. Never did our drinks go empty and the food was out promptly. Our waitress was helpful to my young daughter who was fascinated by the caricatures of celebrities in the wall. The waitress took her around to find some of them from a must see list she had compiled.
The food was just okay. Nothing was bad, but nothing was noteworthy either. I had salmon, mashed sweet potato and spinach. She had scallops with risotto and mixed vegetables. My salmon was slightly more cooked than I like but still tasty. The sides were ok. Her scallops were the highlight of the meal, cooked near perfectly. Her vegetables left much to be desired. The broccoli a bit mushy while the green beans were too crunchy. I like green beans with a little crunch, but these felt almost raw in my opinion. I really wanted to like the risotto. The texture was on point. Unfortunately the flavor was extremely salty. Overall our impression was positive. My daughter truly enjoyed the service and was happy with her experience for her first trip to NYC.
Love to go to Sardi’s especially when the play is around there. Food was really good this time. Melon was delicious. Service great
Thank you for a lovely evening.
Went there after a show, restaurant was quite, food and service were good. Will recommend it before or after a show.
We eat here on a regular basis. Great bars, both upstairs and downstairs. Staff always friendly and welcoming. We have never had a bad meal or poor service at Sardi's. That is why we keep coming back. Very convenient to most theaters whether a matinee or evening performance.
It was decent and easy to get to. Was interesting looking at all characters on walls.
This old historic NY restaurant still has very good quality dinners and friendly service.
Small menu. Not gluten friendly. Limited options with no alternatives offered. Server forgot drink order and dessert order
Very good service pre theatre
It’s worth going to Sardi’s once. It’s an institution. But frankly, the food and service were both fairly unimpressive. We went at show time, figuring that with all of the pre-show crowd already out, we’d have the place to ourselves. And we more or less did. And yet, we still had a barely-attentive server. The food was not bad, but it was not worth the price we paid, and it was nowhere near as good as what you could get in many restaurants nearby.
We eat at Sardi's quite often and always enjoy the experience. The bar upstairs is great, bartenders are excellent. We never feel rushed, even at busy times. It is just a good friendly place to dine with excellent food and service. We will continue to frequent this restaurant when we are in NY for the theater.
Sardi's is my hope in Manhattan. Staff has always me feel at home. Almost, like my private club. Great food, service and friendly people.
Was a great experience.
We arrived 1/2 hour early. Seated immediately and politely. Everyone there were extremely attentive and gracious.
Food superb. No rushing. Thoroughly enjoyed..
Will go back 100%
Food was mediocre, service rushed. I felt the quality of the food was disappointing and the meal was expensive for pasta dishes, which were on special.
They were able to take us a few minutes before our reservation. We got an awesome table by the window. We initially chose this place because of its location. We were eating during the time between Harry Potter Part 1 and Part 2 on broadway. Our food was delicious. The man that sat behind me actually changed his order when he saw my spinach cannelloni. The restaurant was very busy, so I would recommend making reservations. Again, the service was prompt, and we had plenty of time to enjoy our food before returning to Part 2 of our show. We would eat here again!
Good, always nice to be assured excellent service, quality food, everyone pleasant
In making the reservation I requested a table along a wall or in a corner, as I have hearing issues; when we arrived, without a word of reminder on my part, our host escorted us to a corner table. I appreciated that attention to detail. The service and the food were splendid as well.
